Wet Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Thursday

Postby Othersharon » Thu Nov 19, 2015 9:15 am

Good morning all. Can't believe it's supposed to be 63 today and wet! By Sunday they're calling for a bit of snow! Crazy weather! I never got out to do the leaves the other day. Furnace guy was a bit later then originally planned and then a friend needed to use my fax so day just got away from me. More came down anyway so guess it's not a bad thing! I did manage to clean off the porch and took bags of leaves I had and a bunch of stuff to the recycling center. The dogs got to go for a ride so they were happy! Went grocery shopping and diner out with SIL yesterday so a fun afternoon! I have to take my one dog to the vet today. I don't know what's gong on with his rear leg. Part of the time he's favoring it and other times he seems okay. But it's been going on for a couple of weeks and I'm starting to really worry about it. Seems like about the time I thought I should get him in it would be okay and then a couple of days later he'd start favoring it again. No swelling or heat and he flexes it so I don't have any idea what's wrong. Decided to let the "experts" check it for me.

It sure sounds like some of you are not having the best time finding sunny skies in your travels! Anita, hope it dries up for you soon! Barbara, glad business is picking up for you. Kathy, I thought of the rain coat I saw once that was really long and was supposed to keep you dry all the way down your legs! Sounded like something you could use on the rainy days! Well, the day is waiting and I should get some things done. Need to pay bills and I want to get started on painting the hallway upstairs. Got the bedroom done so want to get to it since I'm in the painting mode! Have a good day and if you're traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning All, I really have not been doing much. Nothing to write about. Reading a lot, but again, nothing to write about. Today is the day for the Doc visit about my shoulder and knees. They have been so sore lately.
Sunny, clear sky and crisp outside. lyn

Good morning.
Dense fog advisory this morning, doubt even the birds can see to fly. Sun is working hard to chase the fog away and it should be a nice day.

Had my environmental allergens (pets, molds, trees, grasses, etc) test Tuesday. Discouraging results as I tested mild to severe levels to 28 of the 30 items included in the tests. Even more discouraging is the limited and restrictive treatment options available/recommended. Haven't decided on approach yet and would appreciate input from any of you who might be dealing with allergy problems.

Another unrelated medical appointment this afternoon and more work on antique mall booths are my only plans for the day - well, maybe some housekeeping chores but nothing very interesting.

Hope you have a good day.

Cold and blustery today! 33 degrees with 30+ mph winds! Winter is closing in!

Working every day now until Thanksgiving. Need the tip money tho to get caught up with my finances. Things were pretty tight last month! Get so stressed when it gets like that! Also need to put some money aside for airfare to San Diego in February.

Nothing else much new. Have a great day and don't get blown away! :D

On edit: Just looked out the window and it is snowing!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Not much going on around here either. Looks like it's going to be a nice sunny day. It's already 69 so will be in the 70's later. I finally called the vet to bring Zero(barn cat) in. He had an abscess open up on the top of his head. I have been cleaning it every day and I thought it was healing. Yesterday it started oozing puss again so guess he needs a round of antibiotics. Our vet is off on Thursdays so I have to bring him in the morning.

Sarah, I hope you can get some relief from your allergies. My son went in a couple of years ago to see if he was a candidate for sinus surgery and the doctor wanted to do $800 worth of allergy tests. We went through all that when he was 3 years old because he had a bad reaction to fire ants. He took shots for years for the fire ants. I don't know if he still has bad reactions from fire ants, he won't tell me much. I told him he should carry benidryl in his car and tell the people he works with that he is allergic to fire ants. I'm sure he doesn't do any of that. I carried an EpiPen for years. I don't know how they treat allergies now but my son took a weekly shot for about 10 years. I think the only reason we stopped was because his doctor closed his practice and he didn't think we needed to continue. I had sinus surgery in my 20's because I was hit in the nose with a baseball in junior high school and it closed one side of my nose. Every time I got a cold it would go into my sinuses and I would look like a Raccoon with the black eyes. The surgery really helped me.

Anita, I hope you have some dry, sunny days. We have a chance of rain on Saturday and our rain usually comes from Texas or off the Gulf. Hope it misses you.

I put a small roast in the slow cooker this morning with the dry salad dressing mix and peppers on top. It's starting to smell good but won't be done for lunch. Harold went off to bring his horse trailer to the shop to get the lights and wheel bearings checked and serviced. I hope he's not planning on trading it. I told him that he should get a 2 horse trailer with living quarters so I could camp in it. You know that really went over big.

Sunny and gorgeous here in New Mexico. Actually, I almost started the Morning Coffee this morning when I was up at 5:30 am to get a reservation for Curry Hammock State Park in the Florida Keys, but I figured it was cheating if you went back to bed, which I did at 7!!

Got lots of work to do today. There is a new program I am trying to learn to grade things online selecting from comments that I can just plop in, but it is going slow, so got a lot of work to do today. Also want to do some deep cleaning, but might not get to much of that. Nice mountains to look at and weather is nicely chilly but sunny and clear.

Also, got to call prescriptions in to Walgreens so I can pick them up tomorrow. Also, I have not had breakfast, so got to do that!!!

Hello,
It's been awhile since I've posted. Just read the past two weeks of posts. Seems like everyone is starting to get winter weather. Still 90 here today. It's supposed to cool down somewhat next week. Wishing everyone well as we head into the Thanksgiving holidays.
