Hello Tuesday from somewhere USA

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hello Tuesday from somewhere USA

Postby carolb » Tue Nov 17, 2015 5:30 am

Gmorning all :)

Ok, I will repeat part of my poofed msg from the other day: being sick was a blessing! I learned to REALLY slooowww down! I thought I'd figured that out, but now I realize driving as few as 20-50 mi a day can be an "adventure"--& that's the word you use, right OSharon? I just remembered that....

Anyway Martha, I like small groups better, so that would have been perfect for me ;) & of course, I always love your Harold stories--dirt heaven  Judy, I don't know about this sink hole thing--it's getting kinda scary! Donna, glad we got our PMs squared away--& now I'm learning to check that notice every time I get on the forum.

I'm just plugging along in the middle of nowhere--have gone in circles intentionally to get back to the dog park if you can believe that! I actually have lost my voice in that past couple of days due to talking to dog people & laundry people--yesterday was laundry day--having not talked much since having/recovering from my cold. Found that the locals are really helpful at giving travel info:)

Ok, onward--or backward--I go. Crikey, I'm opening MC because I'm falling asleep at 6 pm & waking at 3 a.m.! I find construct & not-so-constructive things to do in these early hrs of the morning. Like cutting my hair shorter when it was already short! Not-so-constructive  Yikes! Oh well, hats are good

So y'all have a great day, be healthy & safe--oh, & congrats Sue! 15 lbs??!! Good for you:) 8-)

    Carolb, you are a hoot. It sounds like you are so happy to get out on the road, that you aren't sure which way you want to go. Course being sick may have fuddled your brain a little  Hope you found the dog park though. And remember, it's "Go West", Go West". Well, you do have some visits along the way.

Cloudy morning here with rain expected later this evening. Don't care. Nothing needing doing outside. Do need to go to town this morning though as need a couple of things. Pay Day tomorrow :D

OKay, nothing to report here, so, have a Nice Day everybody :)

Good morning Everybody from windy Pahrump, NV. Patty K and I had a mini gtg yesterday at the Wine Ridge RV Resort in Pahrump where I am staying. I needed to wash the desert dust off me and everything else. It just so happens that there is a winery and it happened to have a wine tasting, so we tasted wines. Patty kept saying she likes hard liquor and has a cocktail every day at five, but she tasted the wines too. My traveling companion, Beverly, joined us and she enjoyed the wine as well. The winery also has a fine restaurant where we had a delicious apple, pecan and blue cheese salad. Patty remembered that you all want photos which include the food and our waiter complied. Neither of us can post photos on the forum, but Patty thought she could put them on Facebook. We had a nice visit and hope to meet again in Quartzsite in Jan.
I'm headed to Q today to have my generator fixed. Sheila, I'll try to find the Road to Nowhere. Peggy

Good Morning

Spent much of yesterday doing what I could to prepare for the storm headed this way, blew driveways/paths, cleared tops of yards drains, etc. Cloudy, warm and windy today with winds expected to rise to near 40 mph tonight and tomorrow. Torrential rain (3 -6 inches) tomorrow but the risk of tornados is low. Much colder the remainder of the week with our first freeze predicted for the weekend.

Allergy tests later today and lunch with friends. Several errands to get done as well. Nicky and I will likely hibernate tomorrow - might be a good time to tackle some paperwork and dusk off the WiiFit again. If I have time to pick up supplies today may try my hand at making a tomato cage Christmas tree tomorrow.

Good Morning all
I have been MIA for a long while but now hopefully will get back to having coffee with everyone. I was not MIA because I was on the road just very busy with things at home. Most recently I was volunteering atfor 32 with Animal Rescue Corps for 32 days at an emergency shelter for dogs rescued from hoarding situations as well as a puppy mill.
Anyway I hope everyone is traveling safely down the road and keeping it between the ditches.

Goo morning! Another cool morning here, if not downright cold! Supposed to get a little warmer but at least for today the sun is out! Took a trip to Pittsburgh yesterday with DIL and pup. He had surgery there on his leg a couple of months ago so this was a check up for him. Luckily he is doing well and he was released from them back to his local vet. Did a quick stop at a few stores at the outlets and lunch before heading back home. Managed to snag a couple of new pairs of shoes, now need get rid a a few pairs I keep hanging on to but never wear anymore. I really don't need the work shoes anymore and heels just aren't my thing anymore! So I need to clean out again!

Carol, yes, adventure is the word! You never get lost and besides you just never know what you might see! Maybe you should take up another hobby and step away from the scissors! You'll be bald by the time you get out west! Sounds like you of you west of me are getting the weather they're predicting for us tomorrow and Thurs. I need to get out in the yard again today and work on the leaves....again! I don't think they're ever going to be gone! Furnace guy is coming in awhile to finally put the part on it so it stops leaking and by then it'll maybe be a little warmer outside to work. The bad thing about the time change is that I don't have enough hours to work in the afternoon. And since I'm not a morning person that limits me! Don't think that's going to change no matter what i tell myself! I have good intentions but just can't seem to get moving until later in the day!

Jrkermit, good to see you joining MC again. I admire you working in the animal rescue. Don't know how you do it and not bring them all home. Sarah, hibernating is a good thing sometimes! Sue, congrats on at the weight loss. That's impressive! Well, time for another cup of coffee and should find something for breakfast. Plus dig in the freezer for something for dinner tonight. Take care all and if you are on the road, be safe.

Good morning to All - again another cool day here in Vegas - at least the wind let up. There is some snow on the back mountains. I was kind of sick last night so Bill spent most of the night up - when I got to my computer this morning I found a bunch of printed maps from Streets and Trips. Route from here all the way to Guanajuato Mexico. With stops at Hermosillo San Carlos, Huatabampito, Los Mochis, Mazatlan, San Blas, Guadalajara and finally Leon and Guanajuato. Sounds like we might have a fun winter.
We have a new family doctor so of course he did a lot of blood work etc. He discovered I have another UTI - that's one of the reasons I had the surgery cause I was getting so many infections. Today I see the surgeons people - they are going to hear from me - Doc also put me on high blood pressure pills. First time ever - never have had high blood pressure - These last six months would do that to anyone - between the moving cross country, remodeling, settling in and surgery...and now the infection and dripping. Lucky I haven't flipped out. Bill's tests came out excellence. Even his anemia is under control. And noticed when we got home from doctor I didn't have my prescription refill papers...had my two new ones and Bill's but not my maintenance ones.
Several of our friends are already in Mexico and they say the roads are quite a bit better this year and construction is on going. Glad to hear that. We'll be heading south around the end of the month - anyone care to join us? It is a safe and beautiful country. Three people were killed here in Vegas last night. Feel safer there if out at night.
Have a pot of Mexican mocha coffee brewing - smells good.

Morning gals,
Just a quick stop before I get going on my day.

Poor Shooter is throwing up and it's really yucky. I suspect it's the antibiotic they've given him so I'm stopping it. When he was in for bandage change yesterday I told the vet about it and she said stop the pain meds, but it's not the pain meds that 's doing it. Buddy also had a problem with this antibi.

Started with the rain here last evening and forecast is for showers/thunderstorms today and into tomorrow. Did decide to turn the horses out even though it's sprinkling as it's better for them to move around than stand in a stall. If it pours later, they will come in.

That's all from here, everyone take care! (and Carolb, if you're that bored that you're cutting your own hair, maybe you need to get a deck of cards and play solitaire!)

Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning from stormy Texas!

I woke to a Tornado Watch until 4 p.m. message. No matter how much I talk to myself, the anxiety is still there. Quite wet and windy here - of course gloomy.

Carolb, hope you are keeping a good eye on the weather! Peggy, turn right at the dumpsters! :) Since Sheila hasn't arrived yet (last I heard), I don't know if the sign will be there. Martha, dirt heaven - nothing like keepin' a guy happy!

Everyone have a great day - stay safe!!

Hard to believe it is already November 17--another day or two older I guess is better than the alternative.

Last night winds got up to 40 MPH with stronger gusts. Slide awnings were flapping so bad I put slides in for several hours. First time I have ever done that. Finally, around midnight, dropped to about 30 MPH, per weather online, so I put slides back out so I could get into bed easier. I CAN get into bed with slides in, but its lot harder. It's still really windy today, but not as much rocking and rolling. This is a pretty desert campground, up on a hill with views on almost all sides, and I have lots of work to do, so no problem hunkering down here. Maybe the little Sealed Quail will come out later and run around cheeping. Love those little birds.

Also, was supposed to drive to Alamogordo today, but decided to wait a day so cancelled one night of my reservation there. Somehow they gave me almost a full refund for that day. So now when it warms up a tiny bit here, I need to get out, dump my tanks, and sign up for another night here. It is going to be a LONG drive tomorrow because I have to go south through El Paso, but my original and not well-thought-out route was over mountains. I checked weather and discovered they had snow up there and lows were in teens--not a good place to drive over curvy and steep roads, so the long way is it!

Carolb, I think you go from dog park to dog park. lol I never knew there was a dog park in Lake Charles until you went there. Do they have restrictions about camping at dog parks? I got my first motorhome in 1986 and for the first 20 years we did more visiting family and kid parks than camping. I try not to go to sleep too early because I wake up at 3:00 in the morning and there's not much to do at that time. About the only thing on TV are the shopping channels, news and weather. I like the small groups too. If there are too many there are so many conversations going on it's hard to keep up.

I decided to go to town today and see if I could beat the bad weather. There are scattered showers but I got in and out of the stores without getting wet. It is very windy. It's trash day in town and the wind was blowing over those big black trash cans. We are under a tornado watch but the bad weather is still in East Texas. I bought some stronger hooks to see if I could keep the cats from taking the curtains down again. I had part of it rigged with shower curtain hooks and they just about straightened them out. One of them must have been swinging from the curtains. Walmart has started selling hot pizzas at lunch and supper time. They had the lunch pizzas marked down to $2.50 which is probably about what they are worth. Not any worse than the ones Dominos wants $10.00 for.

I don't know that Sheila has made it to Q yet. The last time I ask she said hopefully Friday but I think that was last Friday. That salad sounds good. I like salads like that if someone else will fix them. I never think about putting different things in a salad.

Judy, I find it hard to believe it's November 17 and the temperature here is 78. It has only been cool enough one night to turn the heat on. It's going to be hard on me to give up my sandals. Good idea to take the long way and not go over the mountains. My grandparents lived in New Mexico at one time and I think it was near Alamogordo. This was about the time of the dust bowl and they moved to Louisiana. My grandmother never got over how green it is in Louisiana and how much she loved it.
