Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Gmorning all :)

Oh my, Ava, I didn't know about Paris--had no NPR stations yesterday a.m., so I wasn't listening to any radio. So unreal, so sad, so senseless :( Catherine, you have a close connection now, I'm so glad your #1 baby girl & her bf are safe. So random, that you think it could have been...don't even want to go there.

Anita, don't think you jinxed me--you just know me well enough ;) Remember "Lost in Austin"--how could you ever forget! Please say hello to Chris--she is missed by me & I'm sure by many others. I hope to get a chance to gtg with her when (if I ever!) get that way.

BTW Donna, I guess I should have let you know that I did send you a PM :)

Found a wonderful dog park yesterday where we spent 4 hrs! Dressed appropriately & taking several breaks to huddle in HB, we had a great time!

Plugging along slowly :) Y'all have a great day & be safe 8-)

Mornin' Carol, Ava & a ll that follow~~~

Just been reading alot lately, but have to say the picture of Carol driving in circles in her jammies gave me a giggle. And I'm with you today Ava about being a slug, but I do have some errands to do first.

Work is a pain in the keester, the project I've been involved in for a major system upgrade just got completely dumped on me. Scheduled go live is beginning of April and nothing has been done. We're moving to the cloud and no one has been able to get to the system for the last 2 months because security is so messed up. Let alone, no development has been started on any of the interfaces or reports. Making me wonder why I'm getting thrown under the bus and I told one of the managers so. He has agreed from day one that I shouldn't be the PM because on this particular project, I'm more valuable as an application expert. The budget has $$ for full-time PM consultant to be hired, but the one they did hire got canned after 2 weeks. If I get the chance, I may say something to the IT head honcho.

Mom's feeling better and her hearing is definitely coming back, but the tingling of the nerves is still driving her crazy. And Colt is still at the dealer, the wallboard / wallpaper for the leak that was fixed is supposed to come in Tuesday which means I may be able to pick him up & get him covered finally. Of course the long term forecast for next Saturday is windy and some snow predicted. :x Just in case, my friends husband who gave me backing up lessons is on call to pick up Colt if needed.

As the saying goes, if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck. Always seems to be something. All in all though, things are OK and glad to see Anita is in one place for a bit (when your done with chores come here, I need help lol). Nice that a visit to Red may seem to be on the books. And Laura, keep up the good work (and take as many sick days as you want) because of the "visitor". You know you've been an awesome teacher and don't let this last pain in the _ _ _ change good memories from your career.

Kathy, your a good horsey mommy. Glad Tank is OK too. All that walking needs to be done, but think of the calories that got burned while doing so!

As an early morning fun thing, found this article on funny national park reviews, so thought I'd share.

Have good day ladies & stay safe on the road.

Cheryl, those NP reviews really are hilarious! Maybe those reviewers should stay home and sit in the dark and play computer games. I second the notion of a slug day, I'll be going to a coffee shop where DH is playing with his classical guitar quartet this morning: bring the newspaper and drink coffee, maybe eat a muffin. Too bad it's 40 minutes away so I have to get cleaned up first. Maybe I'll stop at JoAnn Fabric on the way home for quilt back since I have a 60% off coupon. I'm also working on a tote bag for my sister in law for Christmas and need lining for that. Once Christmas is over I have to get serious about getting this house ready to sell in spring so we can move smaller and get the RV.
Just when we found the perfect floorplan for us, (Nexus 30V) they had to discontinue that model. I'm hoping we can find one gently used or convince them to make one for us. We're looking for twin beds, which are rare! DH snores so loudly, but just a foot or two apart makes a difference with ear plugs. We've pretty much given up on the idea of a class B...we want to go for months at a time and that 20-22 feet just isn't going to do it. And, DH insists on a dry bath, which is negotiable for me, but longer trips would make that more important to me. Phoenix Cruiser and Coach House both make twin bed models but neither have the opposing slides up front that add so much "real estate" to the feel of the rig. We're planning to go to the Chicago RV show in February, maybe meet up with Cheryl and/or Kathy, and see what's new for 2016.
That's all I know. Stay safe on the roads, ladies, and enjoy your Sunday.

Good Morning Everyone, Beautiful day starting here, already fairly warm out again, that is if you think low 60's is warm. Sorry to hear of the work problems many of you are having. Makes my frustration with trying to post pictures that will zoom on eBay pretty minor, although it has definitely been putting my mind on overdrive. ACK I've sold on and off for years on eBay and never encountered the difficulties that I'm having this time. If anyone else is selling and has any suggestions I would love to hear from you.

Cheryl your Mom might find relief from the nerve pain from her shingles by going for acupuncture. I had terrible pain in my mouth and thought it was a tooth. The dentist said it was a nerve, not a tooth and would take a long time to heal. After the first acupuncture treatment it was much better and after the third it was fine. A Podiatrist just recommended it for nerve tingling in my foot caused by a toe out of alignment. Ask questions of anyone you consider, if they say they give herbals/vitamins on first visit, you will want to avoid them. Carolb glad you have found yourself! :D :D Maybe I will find you in my area, I'll keep an eye out and a light on.

Good morning All, Crisp here @ 66* this morning....rain clouds in the sky, but don't place any bets on it happening! Still working on getting the camper cleaned. Yesterday used a Groupon coupon to get some Thai food. Was disappointed in the flavoring they used. Do have lots of veggies left over. Added some to my vegatarian beans last night.
Football this afternoon. Here at home. I would not want to be part of a hugh crowd right now. Of course, don't like Hugh crowds anytime!
Stay safe all, lyn

Good Morning! I so love getting on here and seeing so many posts!

Carolb, I laugh every time I think of Austin! Velda, if anyone deserves some quiet, alone time, it is probably you! Ava, my Sundays usually turn out to be slug days for some reason. Looking forward to Seahawk football game this evening. Cheryl, the National Park reviews - I actually get a couple of those! I hate to say it, my first view of the Grand Canyon was a disappointment. After the first time, my opinion changed so I wonder if it was the time of day and the light. Or possibly from seeing all the photos taken in great light.

Looks to be a nice day before the storm comes. I am happy to stay home but should go to the store for fruits and veggies. The crock pot is coming out today!

The SS is, of course, drawing a lot of attention. Lady next door came over to ask. I hear all the conversations since the door is open and I did go out and talk with one family. Turned out to be a good one to talk to! Just heard some guy go by and say 'Can-Am' - not. My entertainment!

Have a wonderful, restful day everyone - especially you who have to face the workplace tomorrow! Safe travels!

Hi Eileen,

We are looking for twin beds too. I cough some at night from my asthma, and we've gotten so used to a king-sized bed I doubt we could go back to a queen! We are pretty much settled on a Phoenix Cruiser 3100. I did want to mention to you that someone on the Phoenix Cruiser forum (http://www.phoenixusarv.com/community/) wanted twin beds but also wanted the front-end of one of the 2910-series models. One of these two models, the 2910T, does have dual slides up front. They were able to work with the Phoenix folks to have one custom built with two twins in the back, a bath in the mid section (dry bath, of course -- I couldn't deal with a "marine" style wet bath either (had that in our sailboat and never again!), and the front section like one of the 2910 models. Of course it would be brand-new and custom so a bit pricey, but I have heard so many wonderful things about working with the Phoenix factory that I wouldn't hesitate to give them a call if that's something you might be interested in and would fit your budget.

Best wishes,
Emily

Take a look at the Thor Vegas. Tina has one with twin beds, and seems to really like it. And it's got one slide, I believe.

Eileen, you have really moved ahead! WOW! Now you know exactly what you want, even if you can't find it. But keep looking for those gently used ones.

I did some sightseeing on the way, but had a long drive yesterday and just barely made it to a state park north of Carlsbad Caverns. Very nice spot, high on what they call hills around here, but high enough to have an excellent 270 degree view of the full lake and surrounding area!

Now here is the scary part. As I am driving to the Walmart in Carlsbad to pick up a few things, I notice a pair of signs on route 285 warning of sinkholes. OK, I know Carlsbad Caverns is nearby and that they have a lot of oil fields and mining in the area, but the signs really threw me. What was I supposed to do with my 15,000 pound rig? There were no alternate routes suggested. :o So last night I did some internet searching and found these articles. The second one shows you how long they have known about this problem:

2014 --- http://archive.currentargus.com/carlsba ... le-options

2009 --- http://www.nbcnews.com/id/33738802/ns/u ... kjA2hPn_IU

Now, I appreciate a warning sign, but that seems like a pretty weak solution! This is the main road going through the town. In 2009, the mayor said, ""The public's been warned," Carlsbad Mayor Bob Forrest said. "We've had a heads up, and for us as elected officials to sit here and do nothing is political suicide. We want to move forward."

OK, how many years ago was this???? And I sure did not feel very warned from a couple of yellow signs.

Early afternoon here already. Slept in this morning since I have the day off. Have a sweet kitten sleeping in my arms while I type this! :D

Will probably be our last really decent day now before winter sets in. 60* and sunny today. Then 3 days of rain and then the bottom drops out on the temps. Will be only in the mid 30's for highs by next weekend. But we have rely been lucky with wonderful weather this fall, so no complaints!

Am having some computer issues and made a separate post about it so if any of you are computer savvy, take a look and see if you can help me on that.

I found and ordered another camera the other day that is much smaller than the one I bought a few weeks ago so am hoping it works out better for me. The first one I bought, I got at Walmart and was planning to return it, but apparently they now have a two week return policy on electronics so I can't return it now. I will have to try and sell it on line instead. Crap!

Hope you all have a great rest of your weekend! Praying for those in Paris and other parts of the world...terrorism affects all of us.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Love the NP reviews. I belong to a Workamping Review Forum on FB. They just decided that cg owners/managers can NOT belong or post. I was on the minority side that wanted them. I've read several reviews there (like looking at rvparkreviews) that let me know it's a place I'd probably like. But the reviewers are often nasty and negative ... and I think owners and managers should have a chance to reply. Oh well. And seeing those NP reviews - makes me believe reviewers even less.

Got up this morning to weather in the 40's (and not expected to rise above mid-40's today :o ) and raining with thunder. Peaches likes rain, hates thunder. She went out only because I told her she had to - but didn't want to be and while she did finally pee, that was it - she wanted back in. Cut our day working short, and it stopped raining about the same time, so got Peaches back out and I'm sure she's feeling much better now. I knew it was going to be difficult getting her out when she was sleeping on my head and pillow and didn't want me to get up either. I know the rain is needed, but wish we could get the 60's back from the last couple days! The rain/damp makes the cold feel so much colder.

BTW, it'll be back in the low 60's - beautiful for here - after I take my two days off this week - but those will at least be back in the mid-50's.

Enough rambling about weather, etc. Still deciding on whether or not to get satellite tv. Have decided if Karen doesn't sell her dish, will probably go with that - but I'm not in the mood to spend money. And that after I just changed my health insurance to a much, much better plan and a much, much lower rate starting Jan 1st. Yay!

Eileen -- One more thing: Did you see this Nexus Viper 30V for sale in Florida? It's used, but just barely. Someone must have changed their mind pretty quick as it's a 2016. Seems to be the only one listed on rvtrader, though.
