Friday the 13th lucky for me

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday the 13th lucky for me

Postby carolb » Fri Nov 13, 2015 6:55 am

Ok, well not so lucky--I just poofed a post!

But feeling "lucky" since I finally feel human again :P I'm either really over this cold, or have psyched myself into believing the 7-day thing. Either way, it's great!

Won't try to repeat all I'd written. Just thanks for your well-wishes--maybe they helped me get better too:) Anita, SS ride today? Glad you've found better weather. Martha, have fun at the gtg with your "new" group--you sure do like your get-aways! Donna, Irmi, Sue & others, congrats on the weight loss, & the talk of good eating habits is an inspiration to me--I'm not a "junk food" junkie, but I'm always short on my fruits & veggies...

Stayed at a SP last night--had a nice hot shower, changed my bedding, & in essence got rid of all aspects of being sick:) Have no idea where I'm headed next, & if anyone were to ask, I have no idea where I've been hahhahah

Y'all have a great day, be healthy & safe, & eat your veggies! 8-)

Good Morning, Carolb and everyone,

Carolb, I hope you haven't been going in circles if you don't know where you are! So glad you are feeling better.

Martha, great that you find so many gtgs!

I just looked at the Interesting Places topic on here - fun to read posts from the last 7 years!

Yesterday was so nice out and I did ride to the grocery store. Cupboards were so bare that I figured I'd need every bit of space in the SS to bring things home, but wasn't as tight as I thought! Also got a couple loads of laundry done - would have done more because machines are nice but a bit pricey in my opinion. Will wait until it warms up before I ride today to the only natural lake in Texas. In the meantime, I can do all the little chores that need to be done before moving tomorrow.

I am at the Laguna Vista RV park just south of I-20 in Marshall, Texas - a Passport America park. It is a gravel park with some park models and other long term residents. The owners are extremely nice. Always a little scary when someone starts yelling and cussing as happened yesterday evening - twice but I think it was the same person. I have to assume the owners weren't here, but I can't see much from my site.

Hope you all have a great day and safe travels!

Woo Hoo finally made my post in the a.m.!

Not much on the agenda today except for raking up and hauling away the huge tree that fell yesterday morning and destroyed my clothesline pole. Thank goodness it didn't go the other way as that is where the dog kennel is and my dogs were in it! You can see the entire inside of the tree is one huge hole, all rotten. I'm surprised it stayed up as long as it did.

Carolb, so glad you are feeling fine. Don't like hearing when my WRV friends are under the weather, especially if they are travelling.

Anita enjoy your SS drive, maybe someday I'll be able to take a ride with you.

Martha, glad you have a gtg to look forward to, it's so fun to meet up with RVing ladies.

That's all from here for now
Everyone take care,
Kathy

Good Morning All, Whoopee all that weight loss for Steve, Irmie and Sue!!! Congratulations!!! I am going to attempt some weight loss also...altho I have been very poor at it in the past. No more pizza for awhile!!! Vegaterian beans for supper last night. Good.
Catherine, aren't you coming to Quartzite this year. Really next year, January, 2016. I am attempting to get things caught up around here, then maybe I can drive up to visit you. Also, Barbie will be coming out to stay with me in February. Sharon, Evie and you need to come visit me then!!!
Carolb...you gave me a nice laugh this morning...glad you are feeling better.
Kathy, that was very interesting about your horses colic. I have inserted NG tubes in humans, but never horses! How long is the tube?
Have fun Martha on your GTG.

good morning ladies
so glad Carolb has kicked her cold, hope the cough doesn't linger too long. Anita, I just did the same thing with groceries,
stocked up, my fridge is working again and that means more freezer space. I still plan on getting an rv service guy to check
it out and maybe find out why it keeps kicking the bucket. I'm so glad its friday, and it seems like I say that alot these days
with the stressful student I have on my bus. It will not end until he's moved back to his country or put on another bus. The
scheduler can't find another bus to put him on so guess I'll be waiting for dads work assignment to be done and they move back to Netherland.
Our nights have been cold, and we actually had two cold days but now the nice weather has rolled back in and hopefully
my arthritis will settle back down. Its easy to forget I have it until a little cold spell flairs it up and then I'm back on the
Aleve for while.
I got nothin else for ya, ya'll have a great day, be safe and be warm.

Ava, that little bugger's not even a U.S. citizen? That's just unfair somehow. If he's a guest in our country and pulling that stuff....grrrrr!

Lyn, I'd guess that NG tube to be about 5+ feet long. They have to pass it through the nostril and make sure they are in the stomach instead of the lungs. Even tranquilized, Tank really fought us on this. He hates having his face/nose handled.

Well, it's way past morning, but I'm just now beginning to be able to type fairly normally.

Had a little surgery for a trigger finger that's been giving me fits for quite awhile. The bandage looks impressive!

Here's what the incision looks like:

Image

My finger is still quite stiff, and I'm not real excited about getting into the shower, but have been told that it's perfectly okay. I'm going to milk this for 2 more days off from work, as the Principal decided to give me a written summary of the "verbal warning" she never really gave during that meeting last week. I'm so fed up/upset/done with everything at school right now. Finally got one of the Board of Ed members involved, and he's had a conversation with the Assistant Superintendent for HR over it. Not sure how it'll end, but I have a letter ready to give to the Principal next Thursday with copies going to the Union Pres., Assist. Sup., and Board member (at the advice of the Union President). I've got lots of sick leave and have found out that it will barely scratch my retirement ($0.50/day), so I might as well use it. I feel badly for the kids, but in the same breath I know that my teaching is in the toilet when I'm being harassed. Fortunately I have good friends who've retired and subbing and are willing to step in. So I'll be out next Monday & Tuesday, and then had already planned to be out next Friday. It'll be a short week -- and then we have a week of for Thanksgiving.

I struggle with telling you all of this because you don't know me as a teacher. If all you have to go on is what I've told you here, I imagine many of you are wondering what the "other" story might be. Well, all I can say is that, in 27 years of teaching this has NEVER happened to me. Ever. While I'll concede to not choosing my words wisely -- and we've all done that at some point -- I've never been badgered, belittled, and bullied by a parent, nor have I had an administrator who's essentially tried to placate the parent at my expense. It's staggering ...

Enough. I'm going to watch TV, surf Pinterest, and enjoy being quiet. And I'll also work hard on believing that I'm not a horrible person.

Thanks for listening ... again.

(((Hugs))), Laura. I do understand what you're going through, because I had the same situation with a parent and unsupportive administrator one year. Try to dwell on the good years, the appreciative parents and supportive administrators that I know you have also had during your career. Go ahead and use those sick days...it's almost over.

Laura, I think we have all had experiences like this at one time or another, even those who are not teachers. So we all understand and believe you. Good that you are taking time off.

What I am interested in hearing about is your trigger finger. I have an appointment on December 15 in Napa with the orthopedic hand surgeon. I talked to his nurse a month ago and told her I really want to get the surgery done before or soon after Christmas, so she is going to tell him and maybe they can fit me in. The bandage looks scary because I have the middle finger (looks same as yours) on my left hand and my thumb on my right hand that I want to both get done at the same time. So that will mean TWO bandages. Am I going to be completely "handless" for a period of time????

So can you grab anything? Or hook your bra? Or unhook it?? I had carpal tunnel surgery last October with the same doctor in Napa, and I could barely get dressed for several weeks. Didn't stop me from driving as soon as I got stitches out, as I left for a long drive to Florida then, but then again, it was only one hand that time.

Maybe he won't even do two hands at once???

Leave it to me. I would not worry about my bra. I would be worried about feeding myself and going potty with both hands bandaged!!

I'm with Velda - you can go braless but you need at least one good hand when you potty. LOL Good luck Judy getting both hands done at once.

Laura, enjoy your days off if you can. Time is getting shorter and shorter for you. Take care
