good morning Thursday....

Postby grammynmaggie » Thu Nov 12, 2015 5:40 am

Good morning everyone.... nice cool morning at 5 a.m. temperature 64 but will rise to 87.... we finally got the church bazaar craft show all set up and it looks really great a ton of inventory.... I volunteered to work tonight and Friday afternoon... tonight they will also have a chili supper starting at 5.... well so far as my health issues go I think I have pretty good news the MRI I haven't talked to the doctor yet but I was really anxious and I told the nurse practitioner I didn't want to wait a month for my appointment to get treatment if I needed it so she looked up the results and said that I had not had a stroke... the neurologist when interviewing me and evaluating me for the nerve test but by some of the symptoms I might have had a stroke ....scared the poopie out of me so anyway I had started to change my lifestyle even more to include a better diet and more exercise I still have to get the results from the ultrasound of the carotid arteries.... anyway I will be glad to get all this behind me so I can start moving about some camping in Florida and some getting together with my camping friends.... all you girls that I have met and had contact with via the Internet for camping and all the things that you do have ....changed my life for the better and I so appreciate each and everyone of you... so with that... everyone have a fun filled day & B safe...donna

Amen to that Donna :!: My life also has been changed dramatically thanks to all my forum family!!! Y'all are the best, & I can't say that enough :!: And such good news about your "stroke" results:)

Catherine, I think you have been a "misplaced" Californian ;) You just have all the spirit of a SoCal gal (thanks for that nickname, Lyn), & you did amazingly well being "out of place" by being in Kansas most of your life. Thank you & all the others that have been concerned about my being sick on the road, & I probably shouldn't have "whined" about it--it's so much better being sick on the road than being sick at home! When I have my "feeling good" spells, I just start the engine & move on down to the next rest area--don't even have to get out of my jammies or comb my hair  So though my body feels miserable, my spirits are high:) & I'm on day 6 of this cold--I heard that a cold needs 7 days to work it's way out of one's system, soooo....

Okay, I've rambled on long enough, so will wish y'all a great day, good health, & be safe always 8-)

Good morning Donna, Carolb and everyone!

Donna, I'm so happy for you that the tests showed you didn't have a stroke after all! Hopefully you'll get good results on the other tests, too.

Carolb, I'm sorry you suffering with a nasty cold, but hopefully you're on the downhill slide and will be rid of it real soon.

Like Donna, Steve and I have been living a healthier lifestyle which started Easter Sunday when we were in Ocala this past winter. We've been on a high protein low carb diet and started going to a gym while we were in MD and joined a gym here in Ocala, too. Steve has lost over 40 pounds and I've lost over 30 and we're feeling great.

Nan left here Monday morning and hopefully we'll see her again and hopefully lots of others here, too, before we head north again. Safe travels to all of you on the road!

Good Morning,

Nice to read the early morning posts this morning. Rainy but not too windy out there right now.

I too have had a lifestyle change joining this forum. Having met a number of you, both old members and new ones, has given me chance to share my love of travel etc. with like minds. And even those I have yet to meet. So nice being able to "chat" with some of you on FB too. I feel ike I could go anywhere in the country and have a "friend" out there. Also have changed my way of eating too. Eating more protein and no so many carbs, well, not to say that somedays it gets off track, like today. Corn muffins for breakfast  Not actually a low carb meal. But just got a craving for some. Taking those big daily 2+ miles of walking has helped too. Weight loss currently at 13 pounds. Slow but sure is the word.

Carolb, hope you shed that cold pretty soon. Nice you can stay in the rest areas along your route. Can't do that here in MI. Sounds as if everybody's just plugging along right now. Those on the road seem to be having safe travels and no bad weather at the moment.

Chiropractor appt. this morning, trip to bank and then to store before returning home. Noting special on agenda today. Outside yard work is done for winter. Couple of little things I can do yet, but no big deal if they don't get done. Truck needs a good cleaning out before weather gets too cold to do that.

Y'all have a nice day out there.

Good Morning,

Carolb, chuckled over your driving in jammies, hair uncombed, etc. Glad you are making a little progress as you feel like it. Kathy, thanks for the explanation of colic treatment.

Irmi (and Steve) and Sue, I'm impressed with your weight loss! Good for you! Donna, glad the medical news was not as bad as feared. I need to find a good holiday bazaar so I can just go look! Sarah, hoping you are doing okay without the allergy meds.

We had about 1/2 hour of heavy rain and wind last night - nothing like a cousin in Iowa reported! I woke at 9 this morning, thought I'd get up have quick coffee and make a much needed grocery run. Then I looked at the outside temp of 57 - think I'll wait. :) Sun is shining tho! I think the laundry room is calling as well. Owners told me of a natural lake about a hour north of here that would make a good SS ride - hopefully tomorrow.

Have a great day and safe travels.

Donna, I saw the pictures of the bazaar on Facebook. It looked so festive. If it wasn't 800 miles I would go. I wouldn't want to wait a month to find out the results of my tests either. They want to worry you to death.

Carolb, hope you get to feeling better and you can make a few more miles. Are you walking your dogs in your pjs? lol You can leave it to me to get sick at a GTG if anyone does. I'm seldom sick at home but let me get on the road.

Irmi, you are going to make me have to join a gym. I lose 2 or 3 pounds and one good meal and they are back. I just hate to have to drive to town. I have a hip that is bothering me and I'm doing good to make it down the road and back with the dog. One day, if I had my phone with me, I would have called home for someone to come get me. All I hear is are you going to the doctor, NO. They might want to give me a shot.

The weather man missed the time the front was suppose to get here. He said about 3 or 4 this morning and it's just now getting here. I don't think it going to be much of a cold front. It was in the 80's yesterday and today it's 65.

I'm excited, I'm going somewhere this weekend. The Louisiana Belles are having a meet and greet with the Sister On the Fly in Sulphur on Saturday. Not that I need to belong to another group but it's somewhere to go. I am going to head that way tomorrow and camp near there. Depending on how I feel I might make a swing up by my sister's.

Good late morning from MN! Big storm came thru here yesterday! Had a thunderstorm in the late afternoon/evening and then heavy rains for hours into the night and then the winds picked up and are still howling out there at 30+ mph! But the sun is trying to come out now. It could be so much worse for this time of year. Could have been snow!!! Loved hearing the thunderstorm and rain tho! :D

I, too, am a "misplaced" SoCal gal! It is the only place I have ever felt like I was "home". Can't wait to move back there someday! Am hoping to go out to San Diego in February for a visit tho!

Yesterday, my brothers and my dad had a meeting with the mortgage company about the reverse mortgage. Hoping it will all go as planned! Will give us all some breathing room and financial room to keep things going with the house. Will eliminate a lot of stress for all of us!

Sophie, my kitten is getting so big!! In just a few weeks, she has gone from just a tiny kitten to over twice that size! She and Lola are getting along much better. More playing than fighting. Lola still gets annoyed by the kitten ambushing her at every turn, but I have caught her cleaning the kittens ears and she is very gentle with her. I have also gotten Sophie over her hard biting when we play. She is learning to "play bite" much gentler now. She loves to climb to the top of my fake tree and hang from the branches! :o She is a ton of fun! And so sweet and affectionate once she calms down. :D

Things have been really slow at work lately and tips have been bad. Doesn't help that I have had to use up my vacation days before the holidays and end of the year. No work, no tips. Hoping that things will pick up now that the holidays are getting closer. I am up for another raise tho! Yay! Will be 5th one in less than 3 years. Very unheard of with Great Clips, so I must be doing something right! :D

Hope those of you under the weather, start feeling better. Those on the road stay safe and enjoy the journey to your next destination! The rest of us are getting ready to hunker down and hibernate for the winter!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I must be stuck in a pattern, all I ever do is post late to MC nowadays.

Donna, so glad to hear your health news, and those of you who are making health improvements hooray for you!

Carolb, hopefully that cold will finally leave you alone. I chuckled too at the mind picture of you driving in your pjs. Be careful a cop doesn't pull you over! How would you explain it?

I, too, am grateful for all my WRV sisters, those I have been fortunate enough to meet and those I've only met on the forum or FB. This is the nicest bunch of "axe murderers" anywhere!

Blustery, cold and rainy last night and just plain ol' ugly today. Wind was so sharp that one dog and I just turned around and gave up on walking. He'd done his business so we went on home. Not much else doing here today.

Everyone take care,
Kathy

I'm late here, but got back this afternoon after a wonderful GTG with Lyn and Beth where Beth is workamping this winter in Groveland, CA just outside of Yosemite. We had a great time. Lyn had to head back to San Diego on Tues. morning. Beth and I spent her day off on Tues. driving into Sonora and running some errands Beth needed to get done. I made my obligatory stop at Starbucks. Yesterday on her second day off we visited the museum in Groveland which was very informative. I had a great time. Love getting together with forum friends.
