Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Gmorning all :)

Forgot to say "welcome" to Patsy--always nice to have a new face in the group, even a Yoda ;) We're a crazy group of characters, so you'll fit right in--oops, maybe I shouldn't speak for all of us, since some are fairly "normal"

A mule trip to the bottom of the canyon! That sounds great--glad you were able to get your year-in-advance reservations. Kathy & gals, real "happy campers" when you can have that much fun on a rainy weekend. And speaking of rain, devastating in places, but you Californians really needed it--& more still?

So my yard is raked, bro will be here today to "winterize" the bilco door, garage is organized with room for car, so bro will guide me into the tight spot I have for it. Somehow, my "countdown" week has filled up with much to do, so it keeps my mind off my "hitch itch." And above all, if I don't get out of here on Friday, I have to remember I'm not on a schedule!! Crikey, it's called "retirement"!

And Anita, all the times we've been together & you've not seen April''s "be-atch" side? Nah, you're just being kind:) And how 'bout dem Royals!

Y'all have a great day & be safe always 8-)

Good Morning Everyone, little gloomy looking outside, don't think we'll see the sun again today, but not supposed to be as much rain. Tomorrow and Thursday are supposed to be nice, with sun and all, but not sure I will believe until I see  or count on it, until I see :D

Nothing new to report on here, same ole thing, except beginning to think my guy is not going to show, so wondering what I am going to do with some of this stuff I'm collecting and want out of here, before I go. What I can, I will haul off, but some I can not lift, can't lift much at all anymore, which is a bummer and something I still am adjusting too. I've always been able to do everything, not so anymore and hard to get my head around that, but if I try, I really pay for it. So I'm learning, there does come a time :o :(

Need to get moving here, last cup of coffee almost gone, and that means the day has really started

Enjoy your day and stay safe in whatever you're doing,
CArol :)

Mornin Ladies and all who follow ~~~

Back at work after the Halloween GTG with Eileen & Kathy and Colt is back at the dealers for winterizing and warranty work. Will pick him up next Saturday, do a final clean-up (mostly the floor), and put the cover on. Next year the plan is to get out more (fingers crossed) and use the, what are those things called??? ~ oh yea, the stove & oven ;) Decided I really hate hitching :x . Good way to blow an hour or more. So definitely know I want something to drive later. Just me & the hosts after they left, and just as it was about to get dark, an A pulled in and the hosts assigned them to the spot I had. Hello! Completely empty CG.

Again, the brain is gone, and can't remember everything I've read, but wishing everyone good travels, good food, good friends and good health. Stay safe on the roads.

To my fellow Florida people (Go GATORS) -- November and running the a/c somehow just does not sound right! Another hot and humid day in the mix for today; but hey, could be worse as others are experiencing in the West or Northeast.

So today I'm tossing around ideas for my 2016 camping seasons. Hope to break it up into 2 adventures as I need to be back in Florida for my semi-annual cancer checkup (remission is wonderful) in May. Throwing it out to YOU for ideas.

If you were leaving North Florida in late February or early March (depending on weather) and wanted to be out until the middle of May -- which direction would you head and why?

west, Patsy, as weather would be better and we have many forum friends along the way who could show you their area and you would get a better idea what our country has to offer. There is also the Natchez Trace to investigate, 400 some odd miles of it, going north, when you get to Natchez , Ms. in the spring that would be beautiful, and of course there are CG's on either side and it has 3 that are totally free to the traveler, (no hook ups).

Not sure how far west you could manage and still see as you go in that time slot, but I would go one way and come back another.

I want to go west, so maybe that is why I made this suggestion, many others who have traveled more areas then I, can give you better ideas. Good Luck, which ever way you go, just enjoy and take your time.

Morning all,

Been busy already this morning, did load of wash, balanced first of month checking accounts etc., had breakfast and just made out shopping list. Lots of stuff on a $100 for $10 with 11th free this week and I need some of that stuff. Time to stock the cupboards for winter fixings. So am off in a bit here to spend money

Everybody is busy right now it seems. MIckie, can't answer your question about leaving FL in March. I know that the Carolinas and even northward a bit can be pretty in the spring, but depends on when you leave. Maybe trip up the Natchez Trace in MS might be nice. Will leave it to those who are roaming around at that time of year.

Glad that gals had a great camping trip up in IL. The juice is flowing for ideas for GTG's for next year. Cathy, sorry you are having so much trouble getting hitched up. I do it in no time ad after figuring out how to do those new Weight bards we got down in IN. No problem. The guys didn't explain it right. I found that putting the bar parallel to the truck is able to pop it right on and reverse when taking it out. About two seconds and done. Then just crank up my jack to the right height, hook up chains, drop jack back down and done. But everybody has their ow preference for either towing or driving.

Got to welcome Patsy too. Nice to see you post. Working my way through the list of new gals who have joined slow but sure. Looks like a great bunch and I hope you all enjoy being on this forum. Like Carolb said, there are some of us who are "normal" and then well there are those who...... But it's wonderful.

Okay, off to spend the money here. Have a good day all.

Good Morning!

A bit dreary here again with lots of humidity! Watching the weather trying to figure out when and where I can safely go in a few days. Reminds me of the year I was at Beth's GTG in Pennsylvania and the aftermath of a storm came through the Northeast canceling those travel plans.

CArol, at my aunt's house in Kansas, they had 3 workmen for different projects that just didn't follow through. My daughter also had one. Hope you can find someone to help you.

Thinking of Laura today as she faces the 'powers that be'. Cheryl, what about the hitching is getting to you? Carolb, you are getting closer and closer to hittin' the road!!

Have a wonderful day and safe travels!

It's overcast this morning but I don't think we are suppose to get rain again until Friday and Saturday. I keep checking our 10 day forecast and no cold spell in sight. Not that I want a freeze but we need to be ready when one comes.

I got the cake I have to make in the oven. I might get it delivered to town before noon if I hurry. It seems like all the food package amounts have been reduced but not the prices. My old recipes call for an 18.5 oz cake mix and all I can find is a 15.25 oz. Same thing with pudding mix. The recipe calls for 3.75 oz pudding mix and they are selling 3.4 oz packages. I need to see if there is a new version of the recipe on line. The cake still comes out ok but I have to cook it a little longer. Probably because there is too much liquid in it.

A friend called me last night to go eat at Shucks. I sure don't like the time change. It is dark at 6:00 and I don't like to be out after dark. She has been so busy with her work that I hadn't seen her in over a month. Their fishing season ended Friday but sounds like she will be busier than ever. She tried hard to get me to go back to work there when I was laid off at the rice company. I probably should have gone back to work since I haven't been able to travel much. There are things I could do that the office help she has now can't do. The people in the corporate office were such asses when a bunch of us got laid off in 2000. They called most of the department heads in the day before Thanksgiving and we were told to clean our offices. I knew it was coming but it really blind sided some people. It sounds like things are better now with a whole new crop in the corporate office.

CArol, hope you can find someone to help you. It is really hard to find someone that is dependable and will do what they want to be paid for. Since we don't have cattle any more Harold has let several people put cattle on his land. All they have to do is keep up the fences and keep the weeds down. All I hear is him complaining about what's not getting done. Don't tell me, tell them.

Better get moving if I'm going to make it to town.

Good morning gals
So many busy WRV'ers today. I love hearing what's up with ya'll and where you are and what you're seeing.

Working on Angel today and yesterday, cleaning carpets, washing down paneling. Later will give her a good bath. Emptied fresh water tanks and low point drains this a.m. but might need to move her around to another spot to completely drain out. Helpful to live on the side of the hill!

Will certainly be a long dull winter. I never want to stop camping! Already brainstorming places to go with my friend Daun for next spring.

My Molly pup wasn't eating much for awhile. No matter what I tried, she'd quit about halfway through. Then I bought her some of that Fresh Pet that's refrigerated and looks like shredded meat. She's been cleaning her dish ever since. I only use a bit as a topper on her regular food but she tucks right in and eats it all. :D

Breakfast here was coffee and pumpkin pound cake that Eileen made for our trip-delish! Hope you will share the recipe here so everyone can try it.

Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning All. Welcome to Patsy, I loved the Natchez Trace. Think I took three days or drive it. Stopped at every monument. Although, living in Florida, you do not have much choice except to go North or
West! When you arrive at the north end of the trace, you are near Knoxville. The paper publishes three different tours of
" dogwood trails". Or, go up to The Land Between The Lakes. You will learn all about "moonshine" wish key. I do not have my maps with me right now so not sure of distances.

Carolb..what, April is a bitch!?!? No way....I have hitch itch too, and I am staying in my camper right now.

When I read about hiring handymen, I am so glad I live in a condo. I cannot (am not allowed) to lift over 15 lbs. My strength is rapidly disappearing too. Am I one of the normal ones just because I am so "creeky".

Sue, go spend those $$$....what fun!

Velda, great post! Did you tell me that cherry juice from Amazon helped lesson the pain of arthritis? (My memory is also going).

Wonderful congrats to those four who got the reservations to go down into the Grand Canyon. .?GTG at end of trip to celebrate.?

I have been to top of both north & south...Xc. Skied the north rim when I wasn't so creaky. Also did a wonderful trip on the river with the Natural History Museum.

Love to all, lyn

Patsy, I was so happy when my cancer checkups changed from semi-annual to annual. That happened In August, and I told them I was NOT coming back to Florida for annual visits in August! So we compromised and made th e annual visits in late Oct./Nov.

As for travel...Alabama and Georgia is nice in March. I "follow the azaleas." Carol's suggestion about the Natchez Trace is a good one. Last year I took a coastal route north to the Outer Banks. Lots of choices, and each state has unique and beautiful areas. You'll have more flexibility for longer trips in the summer after your May dr. visit.

Another hot/humid November? Day here in McIntosh, making breathing hard outside. I'm still nursing a sore throat and post-nasal drip, so sitting inside in the AC. I my Wii Fit out of the storage compartment and set it back up so I could exercise a little. Not walking far today in this outdoor sauna.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Sue - I knew you meant me ;) Just too much to remember for a newbie I guess (tongue up & down (me up & down), leveling, jacks, pins, chains, emergency brake release and on and on and on it seems). Plus I have yet to hitch without a problem, some of which go back to having the burr in the ball receiver that they can't do much about (already ground down as far as they can) without getting a welder and taking the whole thing off and putting a new one on. Just looking towards the day (with a small A maybe) where I can just press buttons for the jacks and leveling. Yes I'm lazy :? but kills my back too.

Not a good start to my morning. Got up and went to take my morning pills and discovered I had already taken them last night! This is in spite of my counting them out into those weekly containers with sections for morning and night. What amazes me is that those morning pills have one that keeps me awake and another that is a water pill, but I had my usual sleep of up and down anyway. Don't know with my sleep problems I could even tell the difference with the wrong pills!

Changed my bed and the towels and tiny rug in the bathroom, so I have that plus a huge bag of laundry to do. The machines are free here and really close, but I am going to wait until after checkout in case anyone who is leaving is still in there. Nice to have free laundry so close.

And those of you who wonder why I make reservations and plan my trips so long in advance??? Last night late I was working on my plan for next spring and discovered almost every spot is taken in the Zion Watchman campground at the time I want to be there. Had to move a couple of things around, but got a spot I wanted for a full week. Soon I am going to be getting my October 2016 reservations for the state parks in the Florida Keys that are almost impossible to get. Going in mid-October just so I can get spots next year. (You can reserve 11 months in advance in Florida but some places get full within seconds.)

Watching the tugs and barges on the Mississippi!

Gorgeous day here again in MN! Sunny and mid to upper 60's today! So nice for November! :D

Have the day off and just got back from the dentist. Had two fillings done and my mouth is still numb. Was a little light headed when I left there so relaxing on my bed for now with maybe a short nap soon. Then maybe a walk on the trail later.

Nothing else new here. Hope everyone is safe, dry, cool and happy today! :D
