Monday very early

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday very early

Postby carolb » Mon Nov 02, 2015 4:59 am

Gmorning all:)

Yep, like CArol, the clocks have changed, but my internal clock is staying the same right now. Just need a few weeks of this "new" time, before my body accepts it ;) But the best thing about this? It really doesn't matter when one is retired, right?!

Sarah, glad you got home safely. I'm still amazed at what a camper you've become--even getting your gps to heed your wishes:) Lyn, you're a good mom--must break your heart to see your daughter's sorrow, but wise to respect her needs. Anita, don't give up on TX so soon! Yes, much can change in a day, let alone a month;) Martha, so much rain for you, but glad to hear you're not washed off the map. Looking forward to seeing you & Carolyn again, & to have a drive-thru margarita LOL! Kathy, thanks for your kind words about "missing" me for Tday--yep, that was so fun last year at Kathleen's! Can't wait to hear how the Halloween GTG went:)

Absolutely lovely weather here all weekend, & for the upcoming week! Patricia brought a couple days of rain/wind, 90% of leaves off the trees, so will get those gathered this week. Dogsitting all week, then leaving Fri noon-ish--YAHOOOOOOO! OSharon, is it time to break the news to the boys that the "bitch" will be back in town? No, I don't mean me!!! That would be my April, my alpha dog...

On to my second cup of coffee:) Y'all have a great day & be safe always!

Hahahaha, Carolb, you are so funny. Loved your "bitch" will be back in town comment. Yeah, Molly hasn't adjusted to the time change yet. As for me, I kind of just ignore it and stop thinking about the fact that I am up earlier. Actually if we were still on daylight time it would be later rather than earlier time wise. So my getting up around 6:30 now would have been 7:30 otherwise and I don't like sleeping that late. Morning person here :D Few more days and off you go. I can feel the excitement.

Heard the fall camping GTG was fun despite rain. Sure that one of them will tell all. Well, maybe not all  Martha, glad to hear you didn't get flooded out with all the rain. But nice that you gals in CA got some.

Nothing much on agenda here today. Need to take back a special order door as it was ordered to wrong size, so need to have them reorder it again. Hopefully it will get here before long as neighbor who is going to install it is leaving for FL in a month. Might go do some leaf blowing over at the other house I keep an eye on. Needs another clean up. As you can see, same ol starting to set in. Had a really nice post made up on my IPad yesterday but when I went to post I kept getting a General error notice and it wouldn't post. That's twice I have tried to send a post from my IPad and been rejected. Any of you IPad users got any ideas regarding why? Didn't have that problem before.

Enough rambling here. Have a nice day all.

Good morning everyone.

So glad we "fell back", Mary walks 4-5 miles every morning before work and was doing it in the pitch dark. Much safer now.

Sue, yes, my iPad eats posts too. I post from my chromebook now.

Good morning all,
Yes, we had a good time at our "Halloween" gtg despite some foul weather. Getting there, I ran into such heavy fog I could barely see the front of Angel. Cleared up just before I got to the campground. Friday we had our campfire from afternoon til evening and made s'mores and pie iron pizzas (and drank wine!!!!). Rained all day Saturday so we did some inside things; went to a small art gallery in the local public library where the librarian told us a bit about the local area (history, things we could do inside and a nice place to get a sandwich for lunch), then headed over to an indoor antique mall (quite a confusing layout to the place, we lost Cheryl and had to text her as to her whereabouts). After that, it was on to a neighboring town to visit a natural history museum. Had the place to ourselves so we took our time. Sunday we all went to breakfast at a nearby restaurant; food was excellent. Then it was time to part ways with Eileen leaving for home and me over to dump tanks then head out myself. Cheryl was the only one left in the campground except for the hosts; I was a bit nervous leaving her all by herself with no help nearby if she should have trouble but was comforted knowing the hosts would still be there today (the one I spoke with said they were supposed to leave for home on Sunday but the other hosts would probably stay another week before heading to FL.)

I spent much of yesterday emptying food, water and anything that would freeze out of Angel. I sure hope I remember where everything goes next year! Now it's just putting pink stuff in and a few odds and ends and Angel will go to sleep in her barn for the winter. Can't wait til next spring already.

DH and I are on an Obamacare plan and everytime I log into that site I get more frustrated. The only major insurer is BCBS but they offer such bottom end high deductible plans that no one takes in my area I could just about scream. The only other insurers are companies I've never heard of and don't know much about. So it's off to do more research and make some calls to our Drs. to see if they accept these other insurers. It's getting to the point where I'm ready to go back to private insurance no matter what the cost.

Besides working on health insurance, I need to clean Angel inside and out. Next three days are supposed to be beautiful so that's what's on my agenda for the first part of the week. I'll deal with Obamacare on Thursday or Friday whenever it rains.

Breakfast here was sausage, eggs and toast. Sorry, all gone ;)
Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good morning everyone... time changes do not seem to affect me in the least because... I make up numerous times during the night sometimes I wake up at 1 o'clock and stay awake the rest of the night and sometimes its 2 or 3 o'clock and stay awake the rest of the night so the time change doesn't bother me... I just take some sleeping pills for the first time in my life.. ambien... then I found out you can get addicted to them now I'm afraid to take them... went to the dog fair thingy at Cocoa... and it was a bust total disappointment... no dogs for adoption very few dogs. Mostly vendors wanting to sell you something and it was not always dog related there were some shelters there in the Humane Society but they didn't even have pictures of their dogs but they have for adoption... anyway I came back and watch my Steelers lose... supposed to get up to 90 today gee whiz come on guys this is November.... still have running around today and probably all week I'm tired of it makes me tired just talking about it here... I did get some Christmas ornaments finished up for the church bazaar... will take them over tomorrow and work on some other things I really enjoy going over there with the ladies... every ones have a fun filled day & B safe...donna

Good morning.
Still raining here with chance of a couple of thunderstorms during the day. Sky should stop dripping by nightfall.
Busy day for me. Medical lab work, numerous errands, phone calls to return, bills to pay, washing, etc. Was going to take Nicky in for bath but think I might as well live with a dirty dog one more day since it is still raining; he can get bath tomorrow.
Made a pot of chicken soup last night so dinner is ready for next few nights.
Have a good day.

Good morning all. Yes, this time change is making a difference with not just waking up but the end of the day too. Yesterday I went shopping with my DIL and had a couple of other things to do but when we came outside it was dark and I thought it was to late to go to the other store I wanted to go to! Didn't even bother to check the clock, just headed home. Then I looked at the clock and realized how early it still was! By then I was over it and just went on home! Today's another day! Finally talked to my friend in Floresville TX last night. Luckily they had minor damage from the tornato that went through their town the other day. But she said the town had alot of damage. Carolb, think I'll just wait until you hit the driveway and do a oh, by the way with the boys! No use giving them to much warning! Don't want to worry them ahead of time! ;) For those of you that don't know April, she may be little but she thinks she's the biggest dog in the area! And my big guys respect that! It's pretty funny! I just say my guy are gracious hosts! Lyn, know it's hard for you to leave your daughter but I can understand her need for some alone time. I felt the same when when my DH passed. Good that you understand her needs. Mickie, I have the same problem with my ipad too. Thought it was just me! Maybe I need to rethink which device I post on! Donna, sorry the pet fair was a bust for you. But it'll happen when you're ready. Sounds like lots going on, some travels and some putting our rigs away for the winter. Kathy, you made me think about what else I need to get out of Lola. Guess I should go out and bring in the coffee make in case it still has water in it. Think that's all left to bring in. Didn't think about it until your comment. Well, time to get busy and get this day going. Coffee is done so no excuses! Glad everyone got where you were going safely and if you are on the road, be safe.

Good Morning, Everyone !!! Still raining here, steady and now they're saying it will on into tomorrow. Oh well, still lots to do in here, right now, I feel so sleepy, think a nap in my chair after lunch might be in order. Dark by 6 with this rain and thought yesterday was time for bed and I felt like it too :D but checked watch and didn't dare go then. I'm glad I am not the only one who has to adjust the body clock, of course, have Maggies too to adjust, as soon as she is up anymore, she has to go right out, so I'm up in a flash. I know the flash is hard to visualize with me, but I almost do a good job of it

Not sure where to start, but going back through closets in here and getting rid of more stuff, didn't use or even think of most of it for the almost two years I couldn't get back here, so time it goes, right ??? My sewing items etc. are the hardest to go through, so passing over that right now ;) Have not heard anything from guy I usually relied on to help with yard work and heavy stuff around here, still hoping though.

Sounds like the Halloween GTG was a good one in spite of weather, good group, so I'm sure they had fun together.

Well, in spite of all of the rain some are having, wishing you all a good week. Stay safe, those on the road, travel safely, these roads so many do not drive right on them.
Take care and try to do something fun or at least relaxing, like read a good book,

CArol :)

Still visualizing and laughing about Carol's early morning "flash."

I spent over 2 hours on the phone yesterday morning, most of it on hold, but was successful in getting reservations for the Mule Trip to Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Grand Canyon next year, Nov. 1, 2016. Reservations have to be made a year in advance to secure a spot and that trip is already full. Four of us gals are going: me, Diana (mtngal), Birdie, and Sandi! Should be a fun gtg. Thistle already has his reservation at the Canyon Kennel, and our RVs will be spending the week at the Trailer Village cg. We will spend two nights at Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the Canyon.

Unseasonably hot here in north central Florida....they predict a 90 degree high today. Thistle and I went out early, but still cut the walk short because the heat and humidity was building fast. Plus I developed a sore throat yesterday, so am nursing that and sinus drainage today. My AC has already been running today. When it gets too cold, I turn it off awhile.

This afternoon I have a phone appt. with the exchange co. that the New York Times has chosen to help us choose and enroll in a new health insurance supplement and drug plan. I have already studied and compared the plans on their website and have chosen the ones I think will work best for me. I will verify my choices with their advisor and find out how to proceed from there. The NYT will provide a stipend via reimbursement plan that will pay about half of the premium for the plan I chose. So for the first time, I will be paying for some of my health insurance, but this one can be used anywhere in the U.S. with no deductible or copay, so seems a good fit for my traveling lifestyle.

Other than the phone calls I must make, this will be a relaxing (lazy) day for me. Take care everyone.

Oh Liz, I'm so glad you finally got your reservation for the downward trip at Grand Canyon, you've wanted and talked about it for some time, so glad its a fact finally for you. Something to really look forward to. Time passes so fast, before you know it , time will be here :D

Glad I'm not down there yet, if temps are still around 90's, I'll take my 60's here  :D Still not sure of my date to leave yet, rain is postponing some things I need to do.

You'd be surprised, Liz, at my early morning "flash"

Carolb, needed a spew alert! I have never seen April in that mode! Glad you will soon be on the road!

No rain here at the moment! It really does get to me when I want to be outside or going somewhere. Oh well. I enjoyed the Seahawks' game and the World Series (tho I fell asleep before it was over!)

I am very excited for Liz and our other gals. I always wanted to go to Phantom Ranch but hiking (no mules for me). Maybe if I could hike down and ride up. Glad the Halloween GTG was a success despite the rain.

No iPad here but I get that error at times with my LG tablet when trying to post.

Not sure what the plan is for here today. Must defrost the freezer.

Have a good day all!

It's still misting off and on. I hope it drys up before we mildew.

I have always been a night person living in a day person world. I gave up worrying about how much sleep I get a long time ago. It's going to take me a few days to remember I need to walk the dog and feed the outside cats earlier so it doesn't get dark on me.

I'm glad we are on Medicare and only have to worry about supplement policies. My sister checked into the Obamacare and it was something like $800 a month with a $5,000 deductible. I don't know how they think that's affordable health care. I think she is going to be able to keep her work insurance until she can get on Medicare.

I'm glad I don't have to do much to winterize my motorhome. About all I do is run the heat and if it is really going to be a hard freeze I put pink stuff in my drain traps and tanks. I need to get a new heater so will start looking now that the stores are getting them in.

Donna, sorry the dog fair was a bust. Around here they have adoption days at Petsmart and Petco pretty often. I'm not sure what the schedule is but seems like at least once a month at one or the other.

Carol, I know what you mean about moving in a flash. Except with me it's the sound of a cat throwing up. They can wake me from a sound sleep. I'm afraid if they throw up on the tile one of us will step in it and fall. They usually make it to a rug. I need to go through my clothes too but can't seem to get rid of any. Some of my favorite shirts have holes and I still wear them. I try not to go anywhere in them and look like a homeless person.

Liz, I'm glad you all got your mule trip booked. It will be more fun with people you know. There will be quite a few headed West about that time but don't know if I will be able to get that far from home.

I have to make a dessert of the month for my club. Since I'm not moving very fast this morning I don't think it will be today.

Donna, I used to take Ambien because of sleep problems. I took only half the dosage the doctor prescribed, and I took it only about three times a week--every other day or so. It really did help, but I found if I took it too often, it would give me nightmares. I am up and down all night, maybe as often as every hour and a half, which is one of the reasons I tend to sleep in. I know how frustrating it can be to be so tired and not be able to sleep. I still have some, but I take it very seldom anymore.

I am sitting in Tom Sawyer campground in West Memphis watching the barges being pushed up and down the Mississippi. A bit expensive, but a really nice place to sit and relax for a couple of days. I'm on the front row so have a good view of the river and everything going by. Also, they have a free laundry just across from me, so going to do a couple of loads tomorrow.

I will be glad to get to California and get rid of the three large and one small boxes of crystal serving pieces I am hauling out there for my daughter-in-law. They were my mothers, and my California daughter-in-law entertains a lot, so I figured she could use them best. The boxes are really taking up storage space.

good morning ladies
well guess we had three earthquakes during the night, of which I felt nothing. I slept right through the night. Haven't heard of any damage.
Had a great time at Jacks birthday celebration yesterday.
We're having good weather, but its slightly cold in the morning, need the sweatshirt on until about 9.
Not much else to report. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Yay!! Real rain in Northern California this morning. We sure need it. I'm so excited about the mule trip down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. This time next year we'll be getting up in the morning in our cabin at the Phantom Ranch at the bottom of the canyon. Then another night and the third day we take the ride back up. Really looking forward to it.
