Verizon just redid some of their plans. Added 4GB and reduced my bill by $5. Might be worth checking your plan to see if there's a better deal out there.

Here's our Abby as Rosie the Riveter, taken last weekend at the Willow Run plant. The gathering of 'Rosies' there was the largest recorded to date. If they do it next year, I'm going! The kid has so much fun that she's decided to be Rosie for Halloween, too.

It's especially great because Abby's great-grandmother, like my mother, built bombers at Willow Run.

I worked in training at Willow Run for two years in the 80s when it was a Hydramatic transmission plant. Fascinating and very historic factory. They tore down most of it, but kept the east end of the building with the big hanger doors to use a new Yankee Air Force Museum. The whole end of the building is huge hanger doors. They started building the B-24 planes at the administration building at the far end of the building, 4,500 feet away, and then when they were finished, they would pull them out the hanger doors to the airport on which the plant was built. Could fly them right out and away to wherever they were needed. At one time in WWII, 20,000 employees worked there, building a plane an hour for the war effort.

Got to go visit it next time I get to Detroit. It ought to be mostly done and open by then with all their planes on display. The old Yankee Air Museum was destroyed in a terrible fire on the other side of the airfield in 2004. (Volunteers manually pulled out and saved a B-17, B-25, and C-47 in the midst of flames, but many other planes and a lot of tools were lost.

Great news Sheila. I had read your post on FB and was worried that your truck situation might cost you the ability to choose where to spend the winter. Will be thinking of you. Glad that your family realize what a treasure you are and look out for you and are able to treat you accordingly! :)

Sheila, I hope this all works out to get you to AZ!! Tina's mention of FB made me aware that I haven't been seeing your posts - seems to happen from time to time. Went back and read - sorry you had the rough anniversary day - I think that is one of the worst for me. Hugs girl!

So glad to hear this Sheila. I don't do FB, so haven't heard much. Q would not be the same without you there. I sure hope this all works out.

Big congratulations in order for the KC Royals!!! Catherine, did you stay up rand watch the game? My daughter and her Dad did. They were both rooting for KC. I was too tired to stay up and went to bed.

This time change is rough. Casey was awake at 4 AM AND therefore I was awake then too!

Lyn,
I thought about you yesterday. I had driven down to San Diego yesterday afternoon to visit with Gaby. I drove back late & got back just in time to turn on the TV as they threw the last pitch.. very exciting!

All of KC is shutting down tomorrow. Schools & some businesses are closing, even Unbound is closing. Parents were going to pull their kdis out of school to attend the big parade anyway, so it looks like most of the city will be celebrating. Hope one of the news channels will stream it online so I can join in the fun.

Woohoo! KC Royals! :D :D :D

Well, I missed coffee this morning because I had to go to the dentist for the second session on my crown. So I’ll just sit by the campfire and have a Coke Zero and visit. I’m getting all kinds of “stuff” done before I retire and don’t have some insurances. Still have to make an appointment with the optometrist. Going to use up as many of my professional care and sick days as I can because I’ll only get reimbursed for a fourth of them. They will pay me for all of my annual leave.

Had a fun weekend. My sis came Friday night and left this morning. Had a great day at the thrift shop in the neighboring town. Came home with a leather jacket, a dress coat and the winter parka for the grand total of $15.00 and all of them are just like new. I looked up the brands on line and all three of them are still being sold and at retail price the total would have been over $700. Somebody just my size must have lost weight….or died. Saturday night we were entertained by trick-or treaters. I had made Bronc a convict outfit but he refused to wear the cap that I made and insisted on his cowboy hat. Wouldn’t even let the little cap go over the crown of his hat! So he was the Convict Cowboy! It was such a nice evening that the kids started showing up around 5.00 and we had an all-time high of 51 little ghosts and goblins when we turned off the lights at 7:30. By that time we were sick of listening to my sister’s dog bark every time the doorbell rang and the kids coming to the door were starting to look a little old for the occasion. Poor Trix isn’t used to a doorbell at the farm. Noticed Sunday morning that they had stolen the pumpkins on the steps. Which was fine by me! At least they waited until after Halloween and I didn’t have to worry about disposing of them since the garbage service consider them garden waste and won’t take them. I would have had to take them out to the city waste pile.

Well, I started this last night and ended up with company and never finished it. I always do my posts in Word and copy and paste so if it disappears when I post I still have it. I just can’t believe the weather that we’re having…..74* on November 3rd is unheard of! According to the forecast this is supposed to continue until after Veterans Day. My tender flowers still haven’t frozen. I did pull some petunias because they were starting to look straggly.

Well, I’d better head to bed. Hope I’m not awake at 4:30 again tomorrow morning!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.
