Soggy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Soggy Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Oct 24, 2015 6:18 am

Morning,

Bit wet around here. Rain during the night. T-Storms on forecast for afternoon, but that could be anywhere. That time of year. So be a good day to run a few errands and then go to my church as one of our ladies groups is having a craft show, luncheon etc.

Carol, thought of you and Bill being snug and safe in Vegas and not in MX. Guess having your surgery was a blessing in disguise. Hope your friends who are already down there, got out of harm's way. Alice, glad that cyst worked it's way out. One less thing to deal with. Anita, hope you get out of rain areas these next few days. Glad you got SS and trailer all taken care of.

Going to do some more reading here, so will wish you all a nice day. Stay safe and dry, those of you in the rain areas.

Gmorning Sue & all to follow :)

Sue, glad you had rain & NOT snow hahaha Hard frost overnight here--had covered my new plants since warmer days/nights are ahead to give my babies more time to establish roots:)

Ava, how great that your cyst worked it's way out! Love when mother nature works in our favor like that. Anita, has it been a year now with your SS? Hope all the bugs have been worked out from it & it's trailer:) You gotta go visit Martha--& Carolyn! You'll never laugh so much as when you're with them:) & I love our mtngal! Diana, will you be back in TX this winter--I'm hoping to gtg with you & Karen, even though she's no longer Trekkin...& speaking of TX & LA, looks like Patricia will peter-out & hopefully show mercy? Ggrief, I saw where she was predicted to flood you out Martha.

I've registered for a free NY State sponsored "emergency preparedness" class on Nov 4th. Bro just told me about it, & it sounds like it'll give me good info for any kind of emergency, at home or on the road. Thought it'd be a good thing to do before I leave here. Then I'll leave the next day or so. Also, Tigg developed another respiratory infection from his allergies this fall. He'll be on an antibiotic for another week, then Nov 4th, he goes on prednisone. Since he's never had that before, I want to be here close to our vet in case he has any kind of reaction after the first couple dosages. BTW, vet said dogs can have daily dosages of benadryl without suffering any harm, whereas I was hesitant to give him "too much," which likely allowed his allergy to move into his lungs :(

This morning, beignets--if I get off my butt here & make them :) Hope y'all have a great day :)

Good Morning from wet Sallisaw, Oklahoma! I was surprised to see wet streets as I usually hear rain. Has stopped for now.

SS is taken care of - this wasn't a recall but a lot of us having the same problem. Part of trailer issue is handled so I now have all running lights! Remaining problem may be with truck - whatever, it will wait until I see LeRoy!! :)

Okay, have to say I hadn't been paying too much attention to weather. Have high school friends vacationing in Puerto Vallarta! I'm in a Walmart parking lot and with rain coming everywhere, hoping to land in a RV park near Hot Springs, AR later for a couple of days.

Sue, congrats on weight loss! I started out the summer pretty well and then ended up eating with other people - foods I don't usually eat and eating out way too often. Carolb, my first reservation in Texas is Nov. 15 (could change) for 3 weeks near Chris. After that I'll be about 40 miles west of San Antonio. Hoping Louisiana weather is good when I'm leaving Alabama! Martha, what's 40 miles? :) I remember when Steven and I were down that was in 2003, we liked the roads south of 10 much better! Jello all around! Ava, glad the cyst took care of itself.

Call from school BFF yesterday that her son-in-law has begun Hospice care. Think he's mid 50s and has fought colon cancer and now another one. He has really been through a lot as has his family.

Hope you all have a wonderful day and safe travels. Prayers for those with medical issues - including my buddy, Tigger!

good morning ladies, lovely lovely saturday, well, not for Mexico but glad hurricane Patricia is loosing power. Hoping it will be petered out by the time it crosses Texas. Its going to be an easy weekend for me, just tinker a bit here and there. Will be hanging some weather panels in the bedroom, I've had them for years but never put them up, so....have to wash them today and preshrink the fabric, then cut the length for the bedroom windows. They will also serve as room darkening, will be a
plus when it comes to those days of migraines. Bought a little firepit recently, got that put together but need to dig out my
wrench and screwdriver to tighten all the screws, then flip it over and set it. Carolb, we'll have a real campfire in camp driveway this year. :D
Went birthday shopping for little Jack, he loved the fish so much at seaworld I got him a little
Betta tank for his room. He has so many MANY toys and there will be more I couldn't see buying anymore.
I'm making a cake today, bought the fixings for a crockpot cake, applespice and even going to top it with ice cream.
I've never done a cake like this but really wanted to try it, I'll let ya know how it turns out and if its really really
good I'll post the recipe.
Off to get started on my day, ya'll have a good one, be safe, be dry and have fun.

Good morning Everybody,
Anita, I read your post about a campground in Hot Springs. I stayed five days at Catherine's Landing. It is nice park right on the river. It has a nice laundry and big shower rooms so you don't get all wet trying to get dressed. While in HP I recommend a visit to the Buckstaff spa in town. One hour of pure luxury and you'll feel like a million when you come out. There is public parking right across the street that is big enough to accommodate your rig or take the SS.
Alice, happy to hear that your cyst worked its way out. The body taking care of itself.
I'm still in beautiful sunny NM. Enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning
Been enjoying some near perfect weather at Watsadler COE in NE GA. Campground not too far off I-85. If you are traveling in the area, think most would like it here. Most sites waterfront; many of the sites appear to have an easy access for kayakers.
Have met a few more RVing women here; we are having a pot luck tonight. They are part of a FB group, Girls RVing In The Southeast (GRITS). Think have recruited a couple of new members for the forum. Miss having a vehicle to go exploring ( not bad enough to unhook and use Magic). The little town of Hartwell is so decked out with fall decorations; just got a glimpse at them on my way to campground.
Allergies still giving me fits but not quite as bad as they were at home. Still I'm not feeling my best today.
Some clouds moving in; don't think any rain forecast but its the first time since I arrived that the sky hasn't been a totally brilliant blue.
Have a great day whatever you have planned.

I finally got around to making my funnel cake this morning. Thanks Carol for reminding me again. I should be good, funnel cake wise, for a while. I won't be putting the fair people out of business. Mine taste ok but not too pretty.

The rain hasn't gotten here yet. Looking at the radar we should be getting some showers but we haven't yet. Most of the rain should get here tonight and tomorrow. The tide is high because of a strong South wind and if we get a lot of rain there will probably be some coastal flooding.

Anita, good idea to wait and see where all the rain is going. Park on a hill.

Ava, I get those cysts on my eye lids too. I have had a few cut out and that hurts. The doctor I have now recommends putting wet, warm compresses as much as you can. Even doing that it takes a long time for them to go away. I saw the apple cake on Facebook and it looked good. There are too many recipes on there that look good. It's a good thing I have a short memory and forget about them before I get to the grocery store.

Sarah, glad you are having another good trip. I'm a member of that group but way too far for me to go.

I dreamed I traded my motorhome for another motorhome but it turned out to be a bicycle. More like a nightmare.
