Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Gmorning all:)

Gutter-cleaning today--how fun ;) One of the last things to do before I head out of here, except to rake leaves. Won't be waiting for the last leaf to fall this year!

Oh Ava, you got that right! We are lucky to be getting older, but sometimes it sucks! Barbie, good to see you again. Glad you found a good home for your ferrets, & yes, that kitty is adorable! Sarah, hope you & Mitch have a good visit & stay out of trouble ;) Melissa, thanks for info on tank cleaning system--oh no, third day in a
row to be talking toilets! Sorry ;)

Hey Martha, I got out my beignet mix this morning--but no oil for making them. So since I have to get new oil, any recommendations? Just regular veg oil? corn? canola? Now that the days are cooler, it'll be nice to have hot-right-out-of-the-fryer donuts:) Yesterday afternoon I had a "sweets" craving--ran out to Aldi's & they had G'delli brownie mix on sale! Hot-out-of-the-oven brownies with ice cream--yum!!!

So I guess I can offer up brownies for breakfast LOL! Nah, think I'll keep them for myself;) Y'all have a great day!

Good Moring everyone,

Carolb, I had a sweet tooth craving yesterday too so stopped for Snickers bar on my way to town. Don't keen sweets in the house as I am on a diet to lose weight and if they are around, I will eat them all  Lost 11 pounds already and don't want to mess my routine up persay. Neighbor who summers here and lives in FL and I are sponsoring each other this winter to lose weight. We do weekly weight check in's via emails. Both of us are on the same weight loss goal. So we can keep encouraging each other. my daily walks with Molly are a great source of exercise as well as working out side in the yard doing fall chores. Once winter hits, I will have to be a bit more careful, but we will still do those daily walks.

Alice and Donna, hope you get your health related issues taken care of. I too need to find a new Dermatologist as mine retired and I have had my share of "freezings" over the years. But nothing serious. Yeah, getting old isn't fun. Sarah and Mitch, have fun. But like Carolb said, keep out of trouble. Though I think the bail fund is pretty well padded as hasn't been used yet

Decided that I am going out for breakfast this morning. Haven't done that in a long time and it's payday too :D, so will probably head to Bob Evans. Supposed to have scattered rain showers today, so good day to run errands and the like. Blew out my leaves again yesterday and nothing more to do with them for a few days now. Have some "fall chores" to do in the garage, mostly bringing in the stuff that will freeze and getting my bush covers ready to use later on. Winter doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get here this year, so might be awhile before I need to set them out. Looks like mild weather for the next month and even predictions of winter are looking above average on temps.

Time to brush teeth, get dressed and go to breakfast. Then to bank and errands and so forth. Have a nice day everyone, those on the road, be safe.

Good morning ladies
And here I thought I'd be the first one to post in MC! You gals are sure early risers !

Couldn't sleep last night for anything, guess I just had too much on my mind to relax. Finally ended up on the couch downstairs and fell asleep there. Then when I heard DH and the pups get up I went back upstairs to bed for a little while.

Ava, I understand what you mean; as I get older I sometimes worry about things more than I probably should and it bothers me a lot. Sorry to hear they found another SC but good that it's very small and you caught it early on.

Donna, I'm also sorry to hear your FL time is starting out with a health problem. Hope it is something that can be addressed quickly and with little fuss. Enjoy your visit with Liz.

Carolb, gutter cleaning is NOT my favorite chore! Every year I have to clean out the gutter on the horse barn and you know that commercial where the guy says the stuff in the gutters is evil? Well, mine's even worse than evil. And of course the gutter guards don't stay on so it also gets full of leaves and acorns. I end up with more mess on me than on the ground. On a different note, if you bring that beignet mix up here, I have gallons of oil in which to fry it up! Remember, DH is the fish frying King!

My Molly did a very odd thing last night after everyone was in bed-she barked twice. Since she usually barks to be let in the house I got up to see if maybe she wanted out? But no, she was laying on her sleeping bag and just looked at me and wagged her tail. Now I'm thinking maybe it was her telling Buddy to get his butt out of the dog kennel and let her have it! We have a large plastic kennel in the laundry room and everyone tries to be the one who gets to sleep in it (except Shooter; he wants to sleep in bed upstairs!) and lately it's usually Buddy who gets it. At least I'm hoping that was what she wanted and not some form of doggie dementia starting where she barks all night. Her Grandfather Gunner had that right before he passed away. Sad to be considering these thoughts.

I need to call a chimney sweep for my house as this is something that hasn't been done and I know it needs it. We cut down a lot of trees in the front yard when the storm knocked them every which way and I plan on using the wood to help heat the house. I also need to reschedule the recalls for my Jeep because there's no way I'll get to that dealer by the time I have to be there.

Looks like the clouds are breaking up, might turn out to be a nice day after all.
Everyone take care,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good morning
Yes, getting old seems to come with all sorts of unexpected concerns, not much fun at times, but then lucky to still be around.
Looks like another beautiful day, sun is coming up and will chase the chill away for a little while.
Mitch must have been up bright and early; she pulled out about 1/2 hour ago. I'm absorbing coffee and it will be a while before I get on the road. Hope next stop has Verizon coverage for Internet but it looks doubtful.
Have a good day.

Good morning to all - it is strange being here in Pacific time now - it is already late by the time I read MC. We are finally having great weather here in Vegas - high 70s low 80s. I love it.
Been back to doctor again - guess I'll be wearing those lovely Depends for a while. - Fix one thing screw something else up. Can't get it fixed until after the first of the year. Won't do another surgery for three months. Lovely - so ...we want to spend some time in Mazatlan this winter so now to decied - should we go before surgery - like now or wait until after - but by then its starting to get hot there and a lot of our friends/snowbirds have already started home.
Ava have you been hit by any of the really bad weather?

Good Morning from South Haven, Kansas (near Oklahoma border),

Ava and Donna, sorry about the health issues. I have been fortunate, but the older I get, the more I know I just have to keep on traveling until I can't.

Donna, I envy you your time with Liz in McIntosh! I never did get there. Carolb, there have been worse topics (and descriptions) on MC!! Sarah, hope you have a wonderful camping trip - somehow I guess I missed where you are going. I'm planning to be with Wendy sometime the first week in November so hope you'll be able to come.

I will head on down the road later - just a couple a hours to Edmond, OK. The plan was to park there and drive the SS to Oklahoma City for service Friday. Now there is rain in the forecast so may have to trailer. :(

I was blessed with a good samaritan yesterday and a guardian angel. When I hooked up the trailer last week, I was sure the hitch wasn't on the ball right. I kept messing with it and nothing changed. Even looked at it again yesterday when I stopped for propane. I turned a corner, the hitch popped off the ball, the safety chains broke. The trailer headed for the guard rail but stopped just short. A young man with tools got me back on the road, followed me to the nearby ACE hardware store where I bought new chains and one of the men installed them. Apparently the lock didn't open all the way so the hitch didn't go on right - I now know what to look for. I have never had an issue with a trailer hitch, but this trailer has been a PITA from day one. The safety chains they put on were a joke and the hitch lock isn't much better apparently.

Hope you all do something you enjoy today. Safe travels to all on the road!

Morning all.

Sorry to hear about everyone's health concerns, hope a swift and painless resolution is in order. Things here in FL are about the same, I'm playing the waiting game on county library jobs and it's getting old, I just want to get back to work.

Sue - congrats on the 11 pounds!!

Carol - I had the same problem after my hysterectomy Part I, ended up with an adhesion between my bladder and abdominal wall, I had no sensation of ever having to pee so by the time I would think to go it would be too late.

Ava -so sorry to hear about another skin cancer. I sometimes wonder if we shouldn't have moved to the PNW where my damaged skin would be less vulnerable.

Barbie - that new kitty looks so sweet!

Good Morning, The weather is perfect here today and I am back online. Yesterday morning was a mess, no internet and we couldn't get online on my cell phone ACK!! I went to Best Buy and handed my phone to a young man at the phone service desk who did something that took about 20 minutes and returned it fixed. He said something about a AT&T tower reset but also said for some reason it had done a force lock. No idea what he was talking about but happy all is well. Called Frontier and they did an online repair so we are back online. My other iPhone 5 would pick up the cell signal automatically when the internet went out at the house but the new iphone 6 plus that I have now I have to turn the bluetooth off for it to work but yesterday that didn't work.
Anita so glad a good samaritan and your guardian angels were there for you yesterday. If you go through So IL on your way south I'm here :) Kathy I woke up in the night thinking about you, I wish you had time to rest more! Sue good for you for the weight loss!! Carolb glad you are going to leave those leaves this year. Carol hope you feel better soon but so happy the Driver is doing so well.

Good morning! Been up awhile and been watching the temps go up. Supposed to be a nice, warmish day today. I filled the little work trailer with leaves yesterday but by the time I filled it the coming home from work traffic had started so decided to wait until this morning to go empty it. Gettting to the dump is easy, all right turns but coming back is a tricky sharp left turn. And the traffic coming down the hill makes it almost impossible to get back onto the main road. So will try to make a couple of runs this morning and early afternoon. Carolb, maybe I'll have some leaves left when you come, just so you don't miss raking them! I live in a small town but it amazes me how much traffic flows through here. Sounds like lots of health issues happening, getting older sure isn't for wimps! I have an appointment Friday with my doctor and always hope blood tests are good and only a couple of concerns to ask her about! Tomorrow is haircut and bath day for the pups and Jim is coming to winterize Lola so will be a busy one. I kept hearing a "sound" yesterday and wondered what it was and where it was coming from. Turned out is was my propane alarm on Lola. It has happened before when she's been closed up for a length of time. Looked at the alarm and it shows it needs to be replaced but turned off the propane anyway. Will ask Jim about it tomorrow. I left a couple of windows open too. I don't like to mess with that, don't need to have problems when we're in it. Well, time to get outside and get busy. Have a fun day and travel safe. Anita, just saw your post. That had to be scarey! Just glad there was someone there to help you. There are good people in the world!

Carolb, I usually cook with Canola oil but I doubt that it makes much difference. You are going to get me thinking about funnel cakes talking about beignets. I found some more funnel cake mix at the outlet mall kitchen store. Just what I need, fried bread with powder sugar.

I probably need to reschedule my dermatologist appointment since I had to cancel the one this summer when I was in Florida. I still haven't found a new doctor. Asking everyone I know for recommendation hasn't seemed to help. I talked to my sister yesterday and she said the treatment for her Lyme disease was going to kill her if the disease didn't. She is taking so much medicine that it keeps her stomach upset. She is hoping that when she sees the doctor today he will take her off some of it.

Sue, I hope you are right about it being a mild winter. I haven't fixed the cover for my "Charlie Brown Orange Tree" yet. It took all summer for it to recover from last winter and grow some more leaves. It has two oranges on it about the size of ping pong balls.

Anita, you were so lucky that someone helped you and you didn't wreck your trailer. A trailer hitch problem is what started my husband's problem. He was with a friend pulling a bumper pull horse trailer. The part of the hitch where the ball attaches broke. The guy was slowing for a stop sign when it broke and the chains controlled the trailer. That's why Harold was on the side of a road and slid down in the ditch. Be sure and let us know if you head across I-10 and stop near Lafayette.

Barbie, sorry you had to rehome your ferrets. I like to watch them play when I go to a pet store. Your kitten is so cute. It has been a long time since we have had a Siamese cat. We had one named Ming and his daughter Mingette. They are usually very vocal.

I need to go pick up Harold's medicine. I think I will pick up a bag of horse feed and a bag of dog feed. We don't need any yet but Harold asks me every day how much we have left. Maybe he will stop worrying about running out.

Had a great bike ride yesterday, especially nice with the weather being so pleasant. Stopped at the Ford dealer and set up an appointment for an oil change this afternoon. Incredible to find a Ford dealer in such a small town that has a service door big enough to get my motorhome in. Also unusual in finding someone who will actually work on it. Would love to find the salesman who sold this RV to me and told me all I had to do to get service was to take it to any Ford dealer. Ha!!

Probably won't be posting tomorrow since I will be off to Cahokia and St Louis. I visited the museum at Cahokia before but this time will climb the biggest pyramid. No rain headed this way, so am going to enjoy the nice weather.

BJ how nice of you to think of me!

Anita, that was certainly scary! Maybe you should look for a new trailer?

Judy, hope you have really good walking shoes for the climb up the pyramid in Cahokia; it's a looooooong way up!

Dang it Martha, now I want a funnelcake!

Hey, Carolb started it. I just mix enough of the funnel cake mix and water to make about a half cup and that makes a 6 inch funnel cake. I found the first box of mix at Bed, Bath and Beyond. They never did have it again and the manager told me that was something they get around Christmas. Pancake mix might work too but I never did try it.
