Warmer Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warmer Monday

Postby carolb » Mon Oct 19, 2015 4:13 am

Gmorning all :)

Overnight low hasn't hit yet, but my plants (newly planted perennials) are still covered from the night before. Today starts a warming trend, so I'll uncover them & they'll have another 10 days to get their roots established--hopefully more warmer days past that, but I only get a 10day forecast on my weather app. Wow, Sue, you had the real thing, SNOW??

Yikes, missed the mudslides? Thank goodness. I was wondering if any of our peoples were in that area. Ava, is that on the route you took to see your needy friend? Josef already for shows--go Jo! :) Peggy, you'll love anywhere in HI seeing it for the first time--like someone said, just savor the beautiful beaches, mtns, ocean breezes, etc. I'd go with you if I could drive my Trek ;)

Today I test HB's water systems--holding tank shut-off valve & water heater pressure relief valve. Then giving him an enema LOL Do any of you have one of those washing "tubes"--literally looks like an enema tube one would use on an elephant!

Okay, so that's the thought for the day ;) Y'all have a great one & be safe always!

Mornin' Carol & all that follow ~~~

Not a whole lot going on here. Dad helped get measurements for cover for Colt yesterday. Think I've made a decision, but have one more week before I need to order it.

JudyJB ~ are you at Coles Creek at Lake Carlyle? Or are you at one of the other ones? I was there in the Spring and thinking about going back next Spring also.

At work already. Better get crackin'. Have a good day ladies and stay safe on the roads.

Good morning,
Yes to Carol, that mudslide was on the route I took. Don't imagine
I'll be going that way any time soon.
Today is back to work day, going in early to make sure my bus
starts and also that there is no storm damage. I don't expect any as
the damage the news showed is the west side.
Nothing else to ad, ya'll have a great day.

Good Morning Carolb, Cheryl and all,

Carol, never heard of that thing you are planning to use on HarBor. I just run my water lines and HW heater under normal use and just keep eye out for leaks etc. Check all connections in the spring when I am getting my TT ready for season. Have fun with it. Cheryl, I would suggest that you get a cover with a zipper in it so you can access your trailer if need be. I have them on mine and have gone into my trailer a few times for various reasons after it has been covered. Got mine from Camping World.

So, today's projects are going to be a couple of errands in town. Need to get some breakfast fixings around here. I am on a diet and losing weight slow but sure, but don't really want to starve my self to death. Course my body could live off the fat cells for a long time, but.... Blew leaves yesterday, so don't have to do them today although more are down, but winds are picking up, so can't fight them, Will let nature do her work and then I will do mine later.

Peggy, I'm with you on the funds thing. I am on fixed too and once those travel funds are exhausted, can't replace them either. No fun there. But will keep going long as I can.

Well, nothing else doing here, so will with you all a nice day and I"m outta here... :)

On edit: Ava you snuck in while I was posting. What storm?

Good morning
This will be a short post, vet is due any time now.

Made it through my super crazy weekend alive and still relatively sane. Nice part was DH and I had a campfire on the patio while eating pizza on Sunday afternoon.

Gotta run, everyone take care,
Kathy

Curious, I've never heard of testing the water system this way. If you have to hold the water heater pressure relief valve shut I'd be concerned about popping a joint open were I could not get to it. Normally it's not a good idea to hold a pressure relief valve shut as it can lead to all kinds of bad things. Factory hot water relief valve preset is 150# but most RV water systems are only rated at 110# with a 45-50# operating pressure. As for opening the hot water pressure relief valve it's best to leave them alone unless they are dripping then just "pop it" open to clean and dirt off the valve seat. As for holding tanks if you take the dump cap off and nothing leaks out your holding tank valves are working.

I'm confused as to what you are doing/testing.

I am at Dam West on Carlyle Lake. Coles Creek is closed for the season. I was at Boulder Campground last time and loved huge full hookup site 7 there a couple of years ago. It also is closed for the winter, and I wanted to check out this area. I am in Site 109 which is large and open on the south for my satellite. These are all such big, paved sites. Love this area and the costs. Paying only $9 for a great electric site. Good place for me to catch up on work and relax, plus the relatively clean paved pad enables me to empty and clean out any underneath storage areas.

I am finally getting caught up on my sleep and adjusting to Central time. Only two weeks before we go off daylight savings time, however, so another adjustment then. Supposed to warm up here, but I will believe it when I see it.

Still have a full day's work to do today since I have two full classes at the college, so no bike riding until tomorrow anyway! Looking forward to riding bike into town. Got new brakes and handlebars adjusted when I was in Detroit.

Okay, I am going to venture a guess here. I think Carolb means she is firing off her systems to make sure the holding tank shut-off valve and the pressure relief valve are working correctly after having them repaired. The enema is for cleaning the black tank. Will be interesting to see what she has to say tomorrow!

Windy as the dickens here! Tomorrow I move on and, while this has been a great time, I am ready. Appointment for SS in Oklahoma City Friday where thunderstorms are now predicted for that day!! Will play it by ear and maybe get it done Thursday if forecast holds. I checked the shop on satellite and not wanting to take truck and trailer there.

There have been great times this summer, and I am blessed to do all that I have done with so many great friends and family. That said, I am ready for a few days of alone time.

I have a gel seat cushion for my bench seat. Since I sit sideways, I give the cushion more than just sitting on it - twisting, turning, etc. Last night the gel pocket inside broke - what a mess!! I don't believe I will replace it.

Time to start the 'pick up and put away' routine for movin' down the road.

Not morning here anymore. I'm getting the last preparations done for my long weekend at Disney World starting Wednesday. Pedicure and packing today. Going with 2 girlfriends and we're going to the Halloween Party there, too. We're going as Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, and the Wicked Witch of the West, who is me! I'll get some pictures and try to figure out how to post them here when I get back...or, if I cannot get it, maybe Cheryl or Kathy can show me at the mini-GTG at Lowden State Park the next weekend.
Have fun and stay safe!
