Thursday, no rain

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, no rain

Postby carolb » Thu Oct 15, 2015 5:40 am

Gmorning all:)

Well, at least no rain til later this afternoon--so I can continue with yard/garage. Ava, doesn't it feel good to purge all useless accumulated stuff? Didn't realize you'd started your deck extension--doesn't interfere with "camp driveway," does it? ;)

HarBor got new shoes Monday, also new house battery. Then took him directly to RV dealer for holding tank valve replacement. Hope I get him home tomorrow as promised. I'm so much more comforted still being here if I can at least see him in my driveway....

Ok Beth, a late season job in NoCal, then vacation in AZ! So I'll see you again. Will keep you mid-west peoples posted & will call Kathleen as my jello plans start to gel a bit more. Anita, glad things are well with your daughter--that was a close call! You've worked so hard to get that relationship back on course. You would have loved fall here this year--picture-perfect colors for cruising in your SS :) BJ, I've found that most dogs do work things out after the initial "fight or flight" reaction, unless one of the dogs is just a downright killer dog--& most sane people don't keep those kind of dogs. My April is alpha, but she still does very well at all the dog parks we visit as we travel cross-country:)

More coffee now while I wait for daylight, then out to the yard...Y'all have a great day, be safe always!

Wow, Carolb, you are up early. And actually, for me, this is extremely early. I am in Decatur, IN, at the Fleetwood service center. I spent the night in their parking lot "campground" and had to get up at 5:30 am and put slides in and get everything ready. You go into the office before 6:00 am and the mechanic follows you to the parking lot and drives the RV around and into the garage. It is COLD and DARK this early, for those of you like me who prefer not to wake up until it is fully daylight!

The nice thing about this place is that they give you safety glasses and as long as you wear closed-toe shoes, you can sit in your vehicle while they work on it! So I am in my recliner and hope to get everything on my list done today. Got two guys checking everything out right now. My experience with this place is 1000% better than the dealer. They fix things right the first time, which is a nice change.

Think I will be in bed early tonight.

Morning all!

Carol, hope you get your rig back asap, ours is over in Orlando in the shop and they may have it a month! We just got her, I'm not digging her being gone.

Judy, I'm cracking up with a mental image of you wearing a hard hat/steel toed boots/safety goggles, while sitting in your recliner grading papers. :D

Things here to day are hoppin', have the utility company coming to check out some load device installed on our hot water heater and furnace. Then I'm getting a haircut, first time by a new stylist in 20 years!!! I'm nervous.

Queen, the biggest problem with full-time motorhome is not selecting a route or choosing campgrounds or even paying for your trip.

It is the fact that every time you get your hair cut, you will have to deal with someone new!!! Seriously. I have not had my hair cut twice by the same person in the last three years.

It feels so weird, I was just counting and realized I've only had two different people cut my hair in the last 35 years. Definitely outside my comfort zone.

Good morning
I managed to get a couple cups of coffee down before painters crew arrived this morning. More windows for me to get washed today, will I ever finish?
So glad the weather has cooperated for the painting job. Near record high today, cooler tomorrow and down right cold by weekend.
one cup of coffee left. Have a good day.

good morning ladies,
well, think I got my mojo back, been doing chores all morning. I did get an invite to go kayaking up at Canyon Lake but
I turned it down because of the mojo thing. I've struggled with it all week and today I have things to accomplish. Don't worry about camp driveway Carolb, the extension doesn't interfere, at least not for a roadtrek. ;)
Won't bore ya'll with anymore this morning, have things to do, Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good morning! Just got up a bit ago and working on my first cup of coffee. At least when I opened my eyes I saw that the sun was shining this morning! Still pretty cold out there so outside stuff will have to wait awhile. Sarah, I have lots of windows that need cleaning if you are interested! ;) Carolb, I feel the same about not having Lola in the driveway, son suggested the other day about leaving her at the new house worksite but I quickly said no, she was coming home with me! Partly because I had lots of wet, dirty clothes I needed to get in the washer but just because I feel better having her home. Judi, nice that you can work in your rig while they work on it. Although, I had to giggle about the picture in my mind of the safety glasses and shoes and you grading papers! Micki, I know what you mean about the haircut. I tried several people when we moved here and have had the same gal for the last 13-14 years and hate the thought of someone else doing my hair! Donna, was glad to hear from you, was wondering how it's been going for you now that you are in FL. Ava, I continue to purge stuff from my place too! It does feel good to get rid of all the extra things I don't use or need. My youngest son took the sofa out of the living room the other night and my older dog wasn't happy with me! That was his spot in the living room! I found a great deal at Sams Club on a big dog bed the next day and since they both liked it I got another one last night! I still paid less then one bed would have cost at Petco! He was really giving me the stink eye the other night! Carol, I can just see April plopping herself in the middle of one and daring one of my guys to try to take it from her! Well, coffee is done so I'd better get moving. I really don't want to work today. With the sun shining I'd like to just take off for somewhere! The colors are so beautiful right now! Anita, you could have a ball on the ss around here! And Beth, you reminded me that I should run Lola up and fill my propane tank too. Nice to know I have a back up if I need it. Have a good and safe day, everyone.

Good morning gals!

Sort of a sad day for me; Pony came off the truck yesterday. I'd gotten everything ready for her to "dismount" but it's still sad to see her sitting up on her stand. I think about selling her and just can't let her go yet. Thank goodness I still have one more trip in Angel!

BJ, I sure don't like those underground fence things. Maybe it keeps your own dog in, maybe not; I've had clients whose dogs blew right past it to chase another dog into the street. And even if it keeps YOUR dog in, it doesn't keep SOMEONE ELSE'S dog out! So what's the point? I'm just a lot happier if there's a physical fence.

Well, need to get on with my day. Everyone take care,
Kathy

Hey Kathy, do you have any pics of Pony? I searched and couldn't find any, I'm assuming it's a truck camper?

Mickie, no shop is allowed to keep my rig and not be working on it. To me that's just poor management and I won't give them my business. No excuse for that. Happened to me the first time I needed to take my rig in and I learned my lesson. I had to find a place to stay. Now, even if I wasn't full time, I'd say I was and that they have to provide hookups for me overnight, etc. Can you imagine taking your car in and accepting they might keep it a month? You might want to reconsider where you took her.

Beth, I agreed to it, they told me they couldn't look at it for at least two weeks, but they didn't mind keeping it in their locked storage. I'm OK with it because the black tank is dripping, much better to be dripping on their asphalt rather than mine here at the condo. It was getting stinky... but I do miss having her around.

Hornbeck Boat Co. just called. My kayak is completed! Now to decide how to pick it up. The man in the recliner might take the bait and make the drive up pick it up and stop and see Ben. I could so be using it around here now..... :) :)

Great news - can't wait to see pics of you in it!

Mickie, I understand. Just don't let them sit on it - call in two weeks and get a status, and don't accept, well, it might be another two weeks, etc. Believe me, rv places are known for doing that if they can get away with it.
