Tuesday and Rain

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday and Rain

Postby Colliemom » Tue Oct 13, 2015 7:24 am

Good Morning from the chilly 45th,

Boy, what a difference 48 hours can make. Sunday was glorious, in the 70's, yesterday started clouding up, into the 60's and today it's raining and dipping into the 50's. So no outside chores today, not that I really have too many right now. Got done what I wanted to do yesterday, pine needles picked up, yard blown off in a couple of places to clean up needles, leaves etc. the three shrubs cut down etc. Then got rained out. Didn't last long, so Molly and I were able to take our long daily walk and late yesterday my friend brought Molly's playmate over for a visit.

Glad to see so many posts yesterday and Peggy, so happy you did the balloon ride. As to the fainting, well, me thinks it may have been altitude sickness. But now you can say you were up in the sky. There is a company over near Traverse City here, that takes people up in balloons and one of these days......
As to my orderliness, well, lets just say I've always been an organized person and more so as I get older, being I am a single, no family person who is maintaining a home and property. So tend to keep things in order so I can do what needs to be done and when. Keeps life simple, at least for me. :)

Lori, so glad to see you posting the other day. Beth, hope the winds die down for you. They had predicted high winds for MI today, but have since toned the forecast down a bit.

So, not much on agenda for today. Heading into town in a while to do some grocery shopping and mostly go to the bank. Need to pad the wallet. Am going to have to start hauling out or buying some craft stuff to keep me busy now that the days are getting shorter, the nights longer and nothing on TV. I do have a lot of scrapbooking to do, but not in mood for that just yet. Kind of in mood to make a new camping sign for next year. And also looking for jigsaw puzzles. I have a couple of pictures I took out west this summer that I am seriously thinking of sending in and having them made into puzzles and then framing them afterwards. Would be fun and good memories to boot.

Well, I"m just rambling on about nothing here this morning. So rather than bore you any more, I am outta here. Have a nice day all.

good morning
dinner at daughters last night was really good, and since they are off on a roadtrip today, I brought home
all the left overs.
Got a bit of surprise when I got home and letting Maggie out, a big King snake on my patio, it slithered under
the fifth wheel and was gone before I could get my flashlight. I did get a good enough look though it disappeared
to identify it. I'm not afraid of snakes but it was just a bit surprising and creepy.
Dr appt today for a recheck on the skin cancers, I expect to get a great report.
Nothing else is new in my world, still trying to get motivated to do some housecleaning. Maybe later.

Morning Sue and Ava.

Sue, I love the idea of a puzzle made from a photo you took, you saw it in your minds eye when you took the picture, then you get to recreate it, slowly, again, how fun!

Ava, good luck at the doctors, I have to find a new dermatologist here in FL and I'm dreading it, after as many spots as I've had removed I know what to looks for... and I have a whole new crop of them now, I'm going to look diseased when they get done zapping them all. And the snake, ewwwww, not a fan at all!

Good morning
Painters crew showed up at 6:30 this morning - was not expecting them until 8:00, my morning is still out of kilter as I do not care for dealing with people before my first cup of coffee. So glad when this is finished. Exterior painting long over due and I know I'm going to love the new colors. Crew got all the storm windows down yesterday and have been working on painting the outside of windows all morning. I have to get all these windows washed - at least I'd like to before they put the storm windows back up. I have concluded there are way too many windows when it comes to cleaning time (but I love having the light) - 30 windows plus 3 oversized sliding glass doors.
Guess I need to get my act together and go to work. Moving slow as allergies acting up - worse because I blew leaves late yesterday.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Good morning to All - I envy your rain! - Never thought I'd say that after living in Indiana. But am just tired of the heat here in Vegas - Tomorrow is "supposed" to be the last day of it - been in mid 90s - quite high for this time of year. By late week we are supposed to get rain and temps will go down to highs of low 80s. Can't wait.
5th day post-op and I'm feeling great.I had no idea the improvement would be so complete so quickly. Talked to our son here yesterday and he asked me how I was doing. When I said GREAT he was kind of taken aback. You just had surgery how can you feel so good? I no longer have any pain when I sit, walk, sneeze, cough or move. After living with it for four years - I kick myself for not taking care of it sooner - had no idea the relief would be so complete so quick. On the other hand The Doctor here in Vegas is the only one I trusted. He is a specialist in urogynecologty and Pelvic Floor Disorders and a professor at UNSchool of Medicine. [that was unnerving as he had three students watch my surgery - ugh] He did the final surgeries on me 8 years ago. They straightened the mess out for a while.
Said son is sending his ladies over today to clean the house - he owns a cleaning service. Bless him. Can't drive for another couple of weeks and cant vacuum, mop, sweep etc for another five. Oh dear me, so sad.
But I'm getting bored. Think I'll set up my sewing machine and start working on something. And starting to think about going somewhere in the Alfa. Maybe Monument Valley - it isn't too far. But Bill would priobably freeze to death. Speaking of Bill - he is feeling so much better here in the dry of the desert - he can actually be very active again - no more breathing problems. I mentioned to him that when I heal we'll be like two new people six months ago!
Glad to see so many people on the road. I'm missing the colors of the east but loving the view of the desert.
Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone -- not much going on here in WI. yesterday started out really nice, but by afternoon the wind was really blowing! Today overcast and cool. I am packing to head up to Superior for a few days to visit friends. Colors are supposed to be very pretty, unless all blown off the trees! Looking forward to the visit as I have not been up that way since last Feb.
Hope everyone has a nice day -

You want a King snake hanging around. They kill other snakes, hopefully the poisonous ones. We had one in the barn for a couple of years. I liked to watch him hunt. He would go around sticking his head in holes. I just don't like to be surprised by one. I have seen several Copperheads this year so I try to be careful where I walk or stick my hands.

I didn't wake up until 9:30 this morning. I guess I was tired from my trip. My sister had pointed out a big bruise on my calf and now I have a big one on my thigh. My motorhome is such close quarters that I am always bumping into something.

My cat Stinky must have missed me. She has been my shadow since I got home. They all had to take turns getting petted when I got home. My son said they got so lonesome that they started going in his room to see him.

We got a recall on Harold's truck and he had them come pick it up and check it. These people spoil him too much. They even pick up his truck for service and leave one. I have to do all this myself on my vehicles. Only problem is it's the Dodge place and I don't want a Dodge.

I'm cooking some seasoned pork fingers in a gravy. I have never cooked pork in a gravy except a pork roast. Harold buys too much of these things because they are cheaper than beef. I am kind of suspicious of the seasoned meat. I'm afraid that if it meat doesn't sell they put seasoning on it and put it out again.

I need to go get the rest of the dirty clothes out of the camper. I have already washed two loads of towels, sheets and throws. I use 2 oversized fleece throws in there for blankets. Blankets are too big and the big throws are a good size for twin beds.
