Well we could do up some baked beans and/or some bean soup or even better yet some bean and cabbage soup and then wouldn't have to worry about no bear or the need to carry bear spray!!!! :?

I woke up this morning and it was kinda chilly so I thought I'd head over to the campfire and get warm. I think the bears must have scared everyone off!!

Wow-!!! Someone brought a big load of wood. We'll be set for awhile. I just threw some logs on the fire---had to fan it to get it going as it was almost out!! Threw some of that stuff in to make ir pretty too!!!Looks like whoever brought the wood hit a few off the wall too. Found a couple of empty cans sitting on the bear cage!! I think that leaves 139 bottles of the wall. I 'got my hot chocolate with me and a fresh pan of pecan rolls right out of the oven if anyone wants breakfast around the campfire!!!

I'm all curled up in my throw I brought with me and I'm just gonna enjoy the fire for awhile!

It is a little too damp and chilly to stay long but I wanted to heat up the brats over a real fire. They taste better when they get the smoke smell to them. Probably bad for you but..... if a behaved too well, who around here would be seen with me! Been running errands for the elderly Step mother......and watching the puppy box to be sure Blondie is eating and drinking to her satisfaction. I remember the plus side of nursing wa sos always - you get to eat as much as you want. Blondie likes this very much, but then she is a feeding machine.....I am not sure that they sleep much in this first week, regardless of what the books say....they are always angling for the "juice bar" The three boys just sleep on the other side of the gate that keeps them out of the room and occasionally look up to remind me that they are being ignored...... Safe travels for all those heading out or back home....may you find warm campfires where ever you park....And again, we will be patient about those pictures......just as long as they come. :)

ahhhh, a nice fire to warm my toes :P
just got back from a little gtg with coworkers, had a good time and McDonalds on the
way home, hadn't had one of those in about a year. Lots of talk about the change
coming up on our insurance, its getting voted on by the board on Tuesday evening.
Right now the district pays for our employee insurance, but they want to change it
and have us pay on a graduated schedule according to how many hours we put in.
If I put in 35 to 40 hours a week my insurance is still 100% paid for but if I fall down
into the 30 to 35 hour week they pay 75% and I pay 25%. This would be about $72
per pay period, and it goes down from there, at some point it 50/50 and then of
course 20 hours or less you get no insurance. Currently, you have to work 20 hours
to get benefits and some of the retired folks work just that just for the insurance.
So anyway, the drivers are wanting to rally at the board meeting before the vote
makes it a permanent thing. Our boss told us and posted it so we would know, but
the teachers seem to be in the dark and know nothing so we're trying to spread the
word. Its been quite an eventful day and I have to work tomorrow  first aid
renewal time, and its gonna screw up my saturday  on the upside, its OT.

Oh, I hope the brats were good, my mouth is watering for one.
Glad to hear the furbabies are still doing well.

Ava - That insurance thing can be a real issue and a killer for retired people, especially if they are not yet old enough for Medicare. I was horrified at how much even minimal coverage cost me after I left work and before I turned 65.

Much colder in my neck of the woods tonight. The fire feels so good. I could not find even a dry twig to bring after all the rain we had yesterday and thru the night. I did find a few pieces of fresh fruit and some banana bread to leave; am looking for some hot chocolate to take - did somebody hid it or is it all gone?

When my husband retired we couldn't afford the insurance for me...I'm 62 and can't wait until I'm 65 to be able to be on medicare. went to a free heath fair the other day...even had a free ......hate it when the word doesn't come ....thanks to that breast cansor site...by the way have you clicked today? They need 200 clicks by the end of the month
enjoy the fire and be prepared for the wind!!! it's been in force for days upon days upon days

I found the stock pile of wood and it was dry....I put a couple of potatoes down in the coals...they should be done in a little bit. The dogs and I went hiking because the weather was beautiful. I love the woods in early spring, you can see the beginning of the wild flowers starting up and you can see through the trees because they haven't leafed out yet. I noticed a lot of downed trees from the winds that have come through these past months. One has a diameter of about 3 feet and fell across one of the gullies. That one should make a fine "Bridge" for the kids.... The thunderstorms are heading our way this evening so i am going to enjoy the fire while I can. It has been a fine weekend but the temps are to drop for the next three days or so. Spring will come.....

Lori----you are gonna have to count!! I grabbed a couple more and I will be back later to enjoy the fire.

I'm out here by the fire, brought my laptop out so I could watch the women's basketball final four first games. My granddaughter was here with me for a while but has gone home to get some sleep. I'm sipping cocoa and sitting on the edge of my chair! I'll throw some more wood on the fire before I turn in,..... g'nite all!

If Bash decides she is ready to go back to Tn early, I could help her drive all the way. Otherwise, she will drop me off here the 25th and drive on home herself. Watching my Cubbies play the Astros tonight!! Go Cubbies!!
