Here in Healdsburg

Postby SoCalGalcas » Sun Oct 04, 2015 10:10 am

Hi all, the weather has been very nice. Cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoon. Good sleeping weather.

I'm glad I am here to assist my daughter. Larry is very unsteady on his feet and does not want to be alone. With me being here, Val is able to go to her meditation classes, the store, the dog park etc.

Larry"'s pain continues to become worse each day. He is increasing his pain mess each day.

I am very pleased with the hospice care Larry is receiving. And the support from their friends is amazing! Larry's bridge club is rallying around. They come to the house and play when ever he feels like it. Even with all the pain meds he is taking, he still is able to count all the cards played!!!

The "dog park" friends come over to play Mexican Train. No bridge players among the dog park friends. One of the DP friends is helping Val with the planning of Latty's Celebration of Life service.

I sleep in the camper parked out front. That gives Val and Larry some privacy during the night.

Thanks for all the kind wishes. Love to all, lyn

It sounds as though your presence there is a great blessing. Allowing your daughter to do her meditation and other outside activities for a part of each day is so important. I hope you will also seek rest when you need it. My though and prayers are with you, your family and their friends.

What a blessing to be there for them! And so glad they have the support services, both paid and informal social support in this transition. Your being there for both of them now will be a comfort in the future bereavement period, as well. God's peace,
