I've had good luck with Ford dealers. Not all can take care, more have been able than not, though. I try to keep track of those who can. One small dealership in Oregon can't fit trucks inside, but will work outside on them, preferably on good days :-)

RV shops usually charge way more, but I'll use them if that's all that's available when I need help.

My laptop crashed the other day so spent my down payment money (for the jeep) on a new laptop. Always something

Ah, sorry Barbie. Yeah, it's always something. And I loved my 2000 GC. Would have it still, were it not for the texting idiot who never even attempted to stop before rear ending me. We would have repaired her but for her bent frame. I'm looking at Volvos. Don't ask me why. :?

Haven't had the occasion to have much done to Angel yet, but I do have a wonderful mechanic who takes care of her and charges very little. Not sure if he could do an alignment though. If you know of a local company with a fleet of larger delivery trucks, maybe give them a call and ask who services their fleet?

Lucky you Judy! In all of my work trips to Canada I never saw one and was starting to think about buying a sweatshirt that said "3 things I never saw in Canada - a Moose, and Elk and and a Mountie".

Evening ladies...parked at Camp Orland Park (dads driveway). Hitching was a bioch today, so decided to just pack up and head to dads instead of unhitching and hitching up again tomorrow. Then on top of it, I left some of my dinners in the freezer :? so DAd took me on a grocery run.

Planning on rolling out of here around 9:30 and hoping the winds arent as strong as today even tho it was a beautiful day today.

Ava loved your kayak adventure and Maggies life preserver is soooo cute!

Well off to bed I'm exhausted. See some of you ladies tomorrow.

"Camp Orland Park" I'll have to tell Mary that one, her mom was in Worth when she was still alive. I get so lost in those burbs, everything seems to be named "Palos" something (Hills, Heights, Park).

I spent today in Halifax. Tip for Traveling in New England and Maritime Provinces: Check out the cruise ship schedule!!! I seem to be following them or they are following me. This time of year, all the cruise lines have fall color tours. Popular stops are Bar Harbor ME, Halifax NS, Saint John NB, Charlottetown PEI, etc. And if that isn't enough, they offer tours to small towns. Two days ago, I was in Peggy's Cove and there were several busloads from cruise ships in Halifax. Yesterday, they were swarming Lunenburg!

Can you imagine an extra 3,000 people in Bar Harbor walking around? And Peggy's Cove is barely a village, so add 23 busloads in one day and you can imagine the crowds. (Got that number from visitor center.) Admittedly the bus tours are spread out a bit, but it is a lot of people in a tiny place.

Not that I don't like cruise ships, and I even like being on cruises, but I really prefer not to be in crowds. In retrospect, spring would have been better because fewer ships!

Came into work this morning at 7:30 thinking I'd be off by 2 - had someone coming to work to close from another store (as we're short-handed now). Well, he borrows a car because his brakes can't handle the inclines to get here and back - got to where he was to trade cars and it was gone! So he called in. Needless to say, I'm working through to close (9 pm) and will hopefully be out right after that. I did lock up for about 20 minutes and run home to let Peaches out this afternoon. Now, it's slow, and being slow time is really dragging. Was busy earlier. If it doesn't pick up, I might just close early tonight (8). That's one advantage of being the manager. But I hate losing business ... we shall see.

OK, done griping, until my alarm goes off tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll work open till about 4 or so - then come back to close (as another employee from Rapid is coming in).

I'm off three days. But come Monday it looks like I may be working 7 days from open to close, then three more shortened days, then however long inventory and closing up take. Plan to leave around the 5th or 6th, hopefully. October 2nd the RV has a date at Ford for an oil change. That'll guarantee I find time to pack up and get ready.

If I get lucky, I'll get at least one day next week with 1/2 a day of help from the Rapid store. Crossing my fingers.

I'm exhausted, met up with a friend at Canyon Lake today, it was a no school day. Ok, my second time on the water
and she's been doing it for 8 years, my shoulders are so tired and I imagine they will hurt tomorrow
put in the water at 8 and out at 12. I learned a few things, one very important thing.....I didn't put enough air in
the chambers. Will do some practice with that one and guess eventually I will figure out when the chambers are
full.
I held the life jacket out for maggie and told her we were going for a boat ride and she came running over to get it
put on, so I am convinced....she likes it! :D

Image
and yes, I have my lifejacket, I just wasn't wearing it, its behind the seat. Also left my hat sitting on the front seat
of the car, luckily I had used my sun screen this morning.

Ava, if you turn more with your upper body when paddling, you will take some pressure off your shoulders. Enjoy!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
