Oh Judy, so sorry you are,in pain. Hope it passes and you get better. No fun and definitely not faking it!! we used to say in OB that the only way a man could fully understand giving birth to a baby was for them to pass a kidney stone with no pain meds!!! Will be thinking about you.

Sheila, they make margarita mix with and without liquor. We can buy it in the grocery stores but I don't know what they sell in other states. A virgin margarita would be like a lemon or lime aid. They also make mango margarita mix. A Mexican restaurant in town makes a good mango margarita if they don't get it too sweet.

Feeling much better now. I even had some beef vegetable soup and it tasted good. The pain pills made me feel woozy, so I have been doing almost nothing since I got here, but now I think the episode is over. Last appointment, my doctor said to not bother doing anything unless the stone "chips" bothered me. I am lucky in this is the first problem I have had with them in a couple of years.

I make a real effort to drink water constantly, even at night. I take a partially frozen bottle of water to bed and drink all of it and sometimes more before morning. Yes, it makes me get up, but my urologist told me he believes that kidney stones form at night when you get slightly dehydrated. Don't know if that is true, but I do it anyway.

Could be worse, I think.

Wow, Judy, what a misery you've been through! Glad it's over for this time. Maybe the driving jostled it loose? I am loving your blog lately, and enjoying your trip vicariously. Have a grand time, or, keep on having a grand time!

Been AWOL again.

Went to the MN State Fair last week with a customer of mine. We were there for 11 hours and had a good time. It was perfect weather and there wasn't a ton of people there that day so there were virtually no lines to wait for anything, so that was great!

Am moved into my new apartment but still have a lot of unpacking to do yet. It is so nice now to be able to open the windows at night for fresh air and listen to the crickets instead of traffic noise!

Been so hot and humid for the past week but today was finally cooler and no humidity! Will be that way for the next week or so. Nice relief!

Am looking at a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee to buy. Will know more on Wednesday when I go in to talk about price, trade-in value, etc. It is exactly what I have been looking for so am hoping it all goes well!

Guess what I saw this morning as I was driving down the long road leaving my campground in Cavandish? A real, live Canadian Mounty. He saw my big vehicle coming down the road and moved his horse into a path alongside, so I only got this one photo:



Reminded me of the Lieber and Stoller song, Searchin', where the singer says, "I'm like that Northwest Mounty, Going bring her in."

Just make sure all the recalls have been done. Honestly I love my Jeeps, I've had 3 now, but this 06 is the blackest lemon I've ever owned. Even beats my 89 F-150 for problems. It might even drive me to look at Chevys. Now there's a scary thought!

Woo hoo!! Found a place that will work on Rosie should the need arise. I called half a dozen places and was told "nope, too long, too heavy for our lift", then found a place that wanted $208 to check it over, finally found a place today that will check it over for $79 in their very own RV bay. Whew! Weird that the RV places I called said they "don't do mechanical, just RV systems". Don't remember that from my folks RVing days.

Judy, I can't believe you didn't stop and talk to the Mounty. I would have stopped traffic. When I was in high school a group of them performed at the state fair. We thought they were great. Since we were riding in the grand entry for the rodeo we got to meet them. Very cute guys.

It is very common for dealerships to not work on motorhomes. The rv places will work on the house part but not the engine. There are at least 6 Ford dealers within 50 miles of me and only one will service my 23' motorhome. If it was any longer they wouldn't work on it. They can't do a front end alignment because it's too heavy for their equipment. What I want to know is who works on delivery trucks. I have wondered where people with Class A's get the engine and chassis worked on.

Martha - when I drove for a living we had in-house mechanics to maintain the very abused fleet. Like you, I wonder what the Class A folks do.

Ginger, 2006 jeeps have a ton of complaints so i have been avoiding that year. This deal fell thru for me. Maybe i will wait til spring and try again.
My laptop crashed the other day so spent my down payment money (for the jeep) on a new laptop. Always something

I take my Class A to a couple of places. One is a light truck shop that does all kinds of chassis and engine work. The other is a Shop a few miles away that does tires, alignments, etc on Motorhomes of all sizes and vehicles. I am very lucky. I usually get my oil changed at one of the local dealers.

I wish we had a place to post places that work on big vehicles.

The biggest town around here is Halifax, so I tried them today. They can only work on vehicles less than 24 feet. They gave me the name of two possible places I will try tomorrow.

I do know of one place just north of Phoenix that can work on anything. They are a Ford dealer with a big fleet service operation--one service person who handles nothing but medium duty fleet vehicles and motorhomes. I was hoping to wait until November when I am there to get new brakes. It is Bell Ford, if anyone is interested. I had an oil change there and was very impressed.

So much for the salesman who told me when I bought it I could take it to any Ford dealer!!!!!
