Hmmmmmmmmmmm - NY, Soos and Nancy. IN, Carol. AZ, Seeyagal. I wonder how long I could keep circling?

Unfortunately for you all, as a full-timer, I have no place to invite anyone to come stay - but you're all always invited to come stay where ever I am - sometimes I boondock, sometimes I'm in a cg - but always I like seeing my forum friends - new and old. And I hope to have lots more new people join the forum to keep meeting :)

I don't remember if this was said here or at one of the GTGs I attended.....but Beth..."If you build it....they will come"..... ;) And yes, what a great place and great gals, a few DHs, and fur-babies, we have here.. ;) I've been busy with one of my counted cross-stitch projects, so have been away a day or 2....(will photo and post when it's done...) but never too long do I go without checking in.....you are all my sistahs and my friends....all right, let me go before the water-works start up..... ;)

Mitch, I can't remember (CRS) what I posted in my intro...but here's the skinny on us... Ernie & I have been full-timers since Oct. 04....mainly, running up and down the East Coast...but this year we traveled a little west to KY, AR, and TX where we spent 3 months at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi....then before leaving the area, we spent 3 wonderful days hanging out with Sparkle, Beth, and Kellie.....then a month in MS, 3 wks. in Fl, and now we're in GA.....where we camp hosted last year and will do it again this coming Oct. May 1st we'll head back to PA to spend the summer visiting relatives and spoiling the grand-kids.......Ernie retired from the Army in '92 and the PA liquior control board in '04.....I'm a Disabled Vet. and cashed in all my stocks with Radio Shack after hanging it up with them in '03. We love our lifestyle and plan to keep doing it for at least another 15-20 years....God willing.....

I am from South Louisiana and my husband probably hates camping more than yours does. He has never been. About 25 years ago he thought it would be a good idea for me to take the boys camping. They are grown and gone but I am still at it. In November I joined the Texas Chapter of RVing Women and have been having fun camping with them. It has been hard to find women that like to camp in my area. I tried several clubs with couples but it is not the same. My sister and I like to fish so the weekends she is off and the weather is good we go to the lake. Because of my husband's age and sometimes health issues I usually don't get too far from home.

I am kind of off the beaten path, about 40 miles south of I-10. If anyone wants to see this area I have hookups at my house. We live on a farm so have plenty of room.

Martha, I stayed at Houma for a short time and was never treated so well in all my life. I don't have my map handy right now. Is Houma anywhere near you? I'd love to visit that area again. I'll be working all summer, but next fall and winter...?

Houma is Southeast of me. If you went up HWY 90 to Lafayette you passed about 20 miles East of here. We are South of Lafayette and West of New Iberia. We had a mini GTG in Abbeville a few years ago and had a lot of fun. I got to meet Jenny, Dan, Liz, Liz's sister in law, Marslet and her husband and another couple. You are welcome to come by anytime. I don't think I could show you as good a time as Beth but we would find something to get into.

Oh, I don't believe that! And I, too, would like to come to that area. Have driven through LA more than once, but haven't spent the time there that it deserves.

Michelle, I also came over from the "other site." I apparently was a very good girl and never offended The Overseers. LOL. After the new site went up, Beth sent me a PM and I came on over to the party here. For some reason, with many of the same sistahs here, this site is a LOT more fun. I love the full-timing women ... their experiences make me want to sell my stick house and head out. I still get lots of time on the road. I was in my rig more than half the year in 2008 ... this year will be a lot less. But I have the choice of whether I stay or go. It's a nice life.

Michelle, I have never belonged to a forum. I read in on a couple of others, but never felt comfortable about joining them. Liz, my SIL, tried to talk me into it, and when this one started up, I did join, all of the fun people I had been reading , were all over here. Theres more freedom over here, I think, I don't have the feeling someone is looking over my shoulder at every word I write, or going to smack my hands. This is just the feeling I have gotten from reading those other forums and what made me uncomfortable, so I never joined. Since my hubby passed away, no one tells me what to do, and I stay out of situations that might get me in the position, where they might think they can try to.

I live in N.C. My hubby died and left me with a MH with low mileage on it. Our children all told me, I could travel in it, if I set my mind to it. My first trip took me 8800 miles 6 months after he was gone. I ran away from home so to speak. Visited 3 of our children, had a great time, all in all. Biggest thing I gained from that trip, was knowing I can do anything I do set my mind to. After being married so long, was an invaluable lesson. That lesson has helped me in so many instances these many years after. Still scary at times, but I just go ahead and do it!

I have managed to get to two of the GTG's, went with Liz to the one in La, in 06,(with ladies who were on the other forum, and now on this one) and the one in Kerrville this past Nov. Once you've been to one you will know that all of these ladies here are the "Real Deal" they are fun, but also ready to be there for you, if you need them.

This summer, I am traveling with Liz, to Alaska, with the group that is going. We do trips together a good bit, as we've always gotten along and it gives us each someone to share all the many things we see and do on these trips. Our dogs are good buddies, mine is little, hers is a lab, and as gentle as he can be. I've wanted to go to Alaska for years, but didn't want to go alone, this year, I am still pinching myself, that I'm going and definitely not alone. Sounds to be a nice group going . I'm so excited !!!!

I've had a phone call while writing this, hope it goes, don't want to write it over.

Sure glad you've joined us, I've enjoyed your posts.

Hi Michelle. Glad you joined the Forum.

I'm from TN too - near Nashville. Last year 6 of us met in Crossville, TN for a GTG. It was great to meet everyone. We've talked about having another one, but the 3 of us in Nashville are all busy down-sizing and selling our homes. My husband and I plan to buy a Tiffin Phaeton once the house sells and we will become full-timers traveling slowly around the U.S. Right now I still have my Class B and it's mainly for my travels - been to 11 states last year by myself. In 2007 DH said he was finished RVing and wanted to sell the Class A. I wasn't ready to stop traveling, so I bought the Class B. In January he changed his mind and said he wanted to sell everything and go full-time. Sure was a surprise to me!

Hope to meet you on the road one day.

Hi Michelle...I'm in SD the home of the Big Stone Faces alias Mt. Rushmore. I frequent both this forum and the other forum, although I am not a huge poster on either but an avid reader. I'm still working full time so my camping experiences are in the summer months. We're about 350 miles from the Black Hills in the Eastern part of the state, about an hour from the Corn Palace in Mitchell (the world's largest bird feeder) Anyone who travels to SD is more than welcome to spend some time with us, we have plenty of room for you. Can't guarantee that I'd be able to take time off of work to stay and be the hostess with the mostest, but would gladly offer a place to park, laundry facilities and a long hot shower or a bath and a taste of very small town life! Providing you're understanding about full time work causing sometimes lax housekeeping standards and a little dog hair from a Boston Terrorist (Radar) who likes people but is extremely skeptical of other animals! I would fear the day that she and Sharon's Chewy would ever meet up. I am very serious when I say we welcome anyone who would like to stop in on a trip through the upper midwest (which you should really only consider in the summer months!) ...we could sit on the patio and enjoy some adult beverages! ;)
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Hi Michelle! I also arrived here via another forum. And while I don't post everyday (due to erratic connection), I do keep up with posts on my cell phone.
It's so fun to get to know people from all over the country. Not so many of us on the West coast, I only know of one other member in northern CA?

I was kicked off the other forum for the same reason as Cedar. Beth has done a great job setting this up for us to enjoy. Thanks again Beth.

Hi Michelle, I too came from the 'other' I wasn't kicked off although I did speak up.Reading here as to how many were dismissed shall we say, I'm surprised I wasn't. Anyway, I love it here and I think these responses will give anyone who might not be comfortable traveling alone new courage. Just think how many friends you will have along the way to meet up with for fun, encouragement and support. I don't have an RV but seeing you pull your cute Fun Finder with a Sienna has given me new ideas. I had my heart set on a Pleasure Way or Roadtrek but since DH hates the whole idea of me wanting an RV, being able to tow (thank you for the information again Michelle) with my Sienna may open new opportunities. I didn't know I had a tow package until Michelle looked up the specs on the 05 Sienna and told me it was standard equipment!
I live in Illinois but long to live at least summers on either the coast of Northern California or Oregon. The air is wonderful out there, here in the summer one labors to breath through the humidity. So even thought I don't have a place to park, do get in touch if you head this way I would love to meet you!
