Cloudy Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy Thursday

Postby Queen » Thu Aug 27, 2015 7:02 am

Good morning everyone!

I'm enjoying some delicious coffee and even sang the coffee song this morning (we are a very goofy duo and have little songs or sayings for just about everything :D ). No breakfast yet so I hope someone else made some sweet rolls or something.

Cloudy here this morning, which in my limited experience is really rare. We tend to have rain in the afternoons instead.

Hope Judy isn't in pain this morning and the cortisone starts doing it's thing asap.

Good morning Mickie, Donna and all who follow them!
Tack room cleaning out day! A friend volunteers at a school for disabled kids and they have a hippotherapy program. So I'm cleaning out the tack room and donating items that they can use that I probably haven't used in years, win-win! I get a clean(er) tack room and they get usable stuff.

Got pretty cool last night, bordering on cold! But I hear hot temps are heading back this way later in the week/next week. I'd prefer it to stay the way it's been this week.

Heard from hay man yesterday and he told me he brought another 215 bales. How he crammed that many up in that loft is beyond me. Just glad I'm not having to handle them anymore. So my total is 360 so far; he owes me another 40 to be delivered later.

Got some bookwork to do so I better get on with it.

Everyone take care,
Kathy

P.S. Mickie, breakfast here (in IL!) was strawberry pancakes! Too bad you're all the way down there in FL now! LOL ;)
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

I just scrambled some eggs and am eating an English muffin, nothing as fancy as strawberry pancakes!

I am so glad I did all that driving yesterday to get my trigger thumb and finger fixed. I am just hoping they both feel OK until I can get to California in December to see the hand surgeon there and get them operated on. They make just tiny cuts to release the bands that are constraining the finger tendons. I want to get it done there because my son and his family live there and can take me and bring me back.

Sunny here so I am off to do some exploring before I have to turn it in this afternoon. I love the shuttle system here but there are places they just don't go. Also want to stop at the post office and mail something.

We have some apple fritters but it's already after lunch so they will have to be dessert. I try not to buy those things but Walmart had a box of them for a change so I had to get them. I'm trying to BBQ a chicken. I wish I could find smaller chickens like they put on plate lunches but all the ones in the grocery store are big. They take forever to cook.

The temperature isn't too bad today. It's 86 with a breeze. It was suppose to get down into the sixties last night but I never saw it lower than 71.

Judy, I hope the shots help you so you can make it to California for surgery. I have one finger that catches sometimes. I don't know if that's a trigger finger but it doesn't hurt. It just won't open all the way sometimes if I make a fist.

Good morning friends. I know many of you are not on FB so will repost here. I know I have been missing in action lately BUT I have a really really bad excuse. I had surgery 2 weeks ago that was supposed to be a piece of cake and it did go quite well except it took me longer to recover than I thought it would. I was home for a week and feeling really good. Then Sat night I developed acute abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea. Had to call 911 at 2am. Ended up with multiple meds, CT scan, Nasogastric tube due to the CT found I had a small bowel obstruction. Now I don't know if any of you have ever had an NG tube but it is the most uncomfortable nasty thing I have ever experienced. Now I have never had surgery before but I think this went wrong in so many ways and no ones fault. They took the NG tube out Tuesday night and let me have some clear liquids. First nutrition other than IV's in 4 days. Now let me tell you that was the absolute best chicken broth in the world ha ha The lemon gelatin not so much. I tolerated it fine, so when one of my docs came in yesterday morning she let me go home on a low residue diet....ok I can do that.
My poor neighbor (who does not have any pets) came over and let my dog out, fed her and then took her over to the kennel when it opened later. So he couldn't find her leash (by the back door LOL), her food (packed up and on the counter), and I told him he could take my car and just put her in her car seat but he said NO he would just put her in his ha ha ha well she was scared because she is used to be secured, he didnt put anything down on the seat so she slid around a bit (for 5 miles) BUT they made it and she survived ha ha he had to vacuum his car out when he got home as he had some dog hair in it (oh yes he is a fuddy duddy but he loves Blossom so it was totally okay with him). He gave me a ride home from the hospital yesterday and he missed a few hairs hee hee I went and picked her up and now we are all back to normal .... I hope just needed to wash all the "sickie surfaces and linens", I like things fresh. My throat is still swollen and super sore so it is hard to swallow and I have a cough which just irritates things, now the smoke down here doesn't help. Just sipping on water and frequent naps right now. Hopefully no reoccurrence in the weeks to come.

Boy Karen, you really went through the mill! So glad things are improving and hope that continues.
Judy, hope your hands do well from the shots. Have a fun day exploring.
Kathy, you wear me out just thinking about all you do.
Breakfast here is prepare it yourself green smoothies, so help yourself anyone late to brunch!
Supposed to reach 100 again today but cooler over weekend. Could really use rain from the clouds passing to north. I was surprised when after 11 news last night I glanced at outdoor thermometer on way to bed and it was still 79.6!!!
People keep saying fall is coming but I'm skeptical at moment.
Gotta do errands and still waiting for Dr from UCSF to call with pathology results.
Have a good day all.

Karen, glad you are home and have your fur baby back. I bet that was scary being on your own and having to rely on a neighbor to take care of your dog.

I'm pretty sure my son had a NG tube when his appendix ruptured. He wasn't a fat kid and lost 15 pounds in a week. Your throat is irritated just from surgery so the tube just makes it worse. Hope you are on the way to a full recovery.

Yikes, Karen, even being on FB, I missed much of that! So sorry you had the problems - but very glad you're on the mend now. And I know Blossom is VERY glad you're home and she is, too!
