Somebody mentioned a while back someplace, that we are in need of new WomenRV banner cause the other one is full of names. Did one every get started anyplace? Am thinking we should maybe start one at the Shipsey GTG, but where to get one? The forum store?

There are lots of places that make banners but I wonder now that we have so many larger gtgs and mini gtgs if a banner would mean the same. Others can chime in but I remember how difficult it was to know where to ship it next and when, etc., and that was back when there were only one or two gtgs a year.

I really think a group photo would be enough and you could save some money.
I think the best gtg momentos were in Kansas when the chamber of commerce just happened to have the left over t- shirts for ten dollars. But then I wasn't around for those first pink "Sister" shirt from the early Texas GTG.

There are so many GTG's around the country these days, more of us are traveling and making it a point to meet our Sistah's in other areas of the country. These days when a sistah travels she post where she might go or her route and others on the route try to meet up, that did not happen years ago. The banner was a fun thing and I think started with a Fl GTG that Liz hosted, she had gotten it and we all thought such a fun idea, it was sent on several times but lost in the shuffle somewhere. Nowadays we are all over the country and GTG's pop up everywhere, not just certain times of the year.

So its my opinion that a banner is no longer needed and would be out of date before it was even sent on, if anyone even had an idea where to send it . Just another thing in life that is outdated and a fond memory.

I have an idea we could do the group picture thing. Posted under a special thread in the general category that way it could be brought up to the top each time someone posted a group picture as far as Belle goes I think I shipped her to California a while back... well that's all my brain can think of today chime in if you think it's a good idea or if you have another idea

I used to make a calendar each year that was for sale on the store. But people quit submitting pictures. I'd be more than happy to do one with gtg pictures. But that means people have to take pictures and get them to me by late fall so that the Carlsbad can be made, ordered and received by the new year.

I'd take pics from people of gtgs big and small. The pictures would have to be fairly large, not resized smaller.

Anyone interested in reviving the calendar?

The old banner is in the other camper in PA....and yes, there is not even 1 inch left to sign on it....I really agree that it has run it course and with so many GTGs now a days...(10 yrs. ago, gtgs were planned way ahead and few between.) So having someone take a group photo and posting it on here would be a better way to go.... and yes, where is Belle these days???

I agree think the banner has run it's course. It was a fun idea, but now we are so active that it would be hard to keep it moving around the country. Pictures would really be the way to go, posting as we have the fun.

Donna, I like the GTG Picture thread idea. I would even suggest maybe letting the mini gtgs be included. Pictures with labels would be nice, especially for those folks that don't get out as much to keep track of how some of us age. The thread would be a wonderful way to show the diversity of gtgs. Diverse in locations and numbers of attendance. Just one group picture per gtg, with date and location. Any other suggestions or ideas?

Good idea for labels and get-togethers of all sizes shapes where ever.. and whenever
Would be great fun ... just post the group photo with a label and still continue at the get together thread with all the activities that go on like we do right now

I am NOT sure that came out right what I mean was just have that special thread for the group pictures .anyway that's what I meant then other activities as usual on the get together page .....I think I better shut up I'm getting confused...lol

I have made a thread in the GTG room for a picture from each gtg (big or small). It is a sticky thread, so will always stay near the top. As posted in that thread, if anyone wants to take the time to find pictures from previous gtg's and start adding them, that would be great. And pictures labeled with who is who is even better.

This is such a great idea !!! Thanks Beth for already setting it up. Wonderful place for those group pictures we're always taking. Such a great place to have to go back to and remind ourselves of who all was there and how many. Now to always have someone who will post the group picture
