I just got back from a great mini GTG with Diana (mtngal) and her friend Mary from a group called Mother Lode Camping Women. They were gracious enough to invite me to join them at Plumas-Eureka SP which is in the northern Sierra Nevada north of I-80 and Lake Tahoe in California. I had never been in that area and it's spectacular. Last Monday we went on a hike to Grass Lake and it was quite a hike. I had both my dogs and some of the blocks of rock for steps were about 18" high which required lifting Krissi (16 1/2 yrs., deaf and almost blind) up and then myself. Mary is quite a woman for her age and has been hiking for quite a few years. It seemed like she just bounded her way up the mountain. The day after Mary left Diana and I took a drive around the Lakes Basin Recreation Area. It didn't disappoint.
