Beautiful Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Friday

Mornin' ladies ~ supposed to be a beautiful day today. Hope everyone else is having good weather too and sure do wish I was heading to Ireland with Liz & Tina.

Not much on the docket today. Working from home. My entire department is sick from diesel fumes due to a large A/C unit temporarily right outside of our windows until the A/C can get fixed. Ah well, at least I saved on gas for the 30 mile ride to work.

Have a good day everyone and stay safe on the road.

Wow Cheryl, hope that get that AC fixed shortly You probably still need it at work I am sure. We have had a good cool down here with temps in the mid 60's yesterday along with scattered ran showers, today is going to 75. Perfect. I have company right now and we were just saying yesterday that we are so glad to be living in a state where we don't have to worry about tornadoes, maybe once in a great while, wildfires, floods, earthquakes, hurricanes etc Said we will stay right here in good Ol' Michigan. Granted winters are snowy and cold, but small price to pay. And you can get out and play if you want.

Kathy, glad you big party is over, sounds like you had a good crowd and a good time though. Se your first load of ha has arrived, so things are getting ready for winter for you. Carol, great news that you are in your new house and now things seems to be falling into place. Judy, Had a feeling that the cool air would arrive right after you moved. Hope you get your trigger finger and thumb taken care of. I have one starting on my left hand, but so far it's no big deal. My NP told me to do some finger stretching especially if spending time on computer etc. and it's helping. And I hope that the hot weather in the west eases for those of you out there. That is way too hot.

Well this is going to be short as company is awake now and breakfast will be stated shortly. He's making bacon and eggs. Mini golf outing is on agenda for today.

You all have a nice day.

Morning all!!

Friday is weigh in day, since we went to the wake for our friend on Monday this week was a bit less by the book. Down 1.5 pounds for a two week total of 8 lbs. Fairly pleased so I celebrated by riding my bike to the beach to watch the sun rise!! First time I've been able to make it over the bridge since my knee replacement.

Hope everyone has a beautiful day!

Good Morning, Lovely and cool again this morning. Cheryl that is terrible about the diesel fumes, hope everyone is ok and they get it fixed! Mitzi had a traumatic moment this morning when she had to walk past three tiny children waiting for the school bus. I don't think she has seen kids that small up close and while she will chase after a deer, she did not want anything at all to do with them. When we walked back that way they were still there and the bus was coming. We have a narrow street with no sidewalks so we had to go stand by the kids to get out of the way. I had to drag her and keep a good grip on her to hold her there. I felt bad for her but couldn't stop laughing either.
For those of you with trigger finger issues I found this bit of information and hopefully it will help. Below is a paragraph from the article at this link. http://nutritionandhealing.com/2011/07/ ... -finger-2/

the cure for trigger finger is vitamin B6. 50 milligrams of a form of vitamin B6 called pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) taken three times daily will slowly diminish and then eliminate even the worst trigger fingers. Just keep in mind that it can take up to six months, although many less serious cases take considerably less time.

Morning all :D

Sitting here enjoying the quiet. Dropped the little one off at Pre-K and Phoenix is not up yet so it's just me, a cup of coffee and a quiet house. Don't start work till 12:30 so I have a little time. Cool this morning as it was 66 at 8:30. It's the humidity that gets me more than the heat. 90 in Vagas felt more comfortable than 75 in IN due to the humidity. Keep saying I need to move to the SW but family is all here for now. I liked AZ and NM in my travels.

Hope everyone has a great day,

Melissa

Congrats on the weight loss. Keep it up. Losing a little at a time and changing your eating habits and activity habits and soon you have a new healthy life style instead of a dreaded "diet" :)

Good Morning All, It is nice being home from the vacation. I loved all the camping I was able to do, but do enjoy being home. Of course, there's now the cleaning of the camper! That is a tiring job.

I store the camper down in Nat'l City. Altho only 7 miles from the condo, it is more hot down there than here in the city which gets an ocean (bay) breeze.

I've begun the Aqua Jogging again. It's stupid not to take advantage of the nice pool in my front yard. My knees have been hurting much more while walking Casey. The aqua jogging does not hurt the knees at all. I hate the thought of a knee replacement, but, maybe that is in my future. I too have a torn rotator cuff Queen.

So much news on this forum...will I ever get caught up? It has cooled off quite a bit here. Thank heavens...neither Casey nor I like that heat!

Have a nice day, lyn

Sue, it's a good thing there are people like you and my brother that like snow or everyone would be in the South. I have only had to deal with snow a few times and I hate snow.

Most of the rain missed us yesterday. We only got a 1/2 inch. That made 6 inches in 3 days. There is a big area of rain on the radar West of here. I can hear the thunder. No plans for today but I have to go to the grocery store tomorrow.

Poor Frosty and his cone of shame as my grandson calls it. He is so pitiful. He has learned we will scratch his head for him so will come for a head scratch when he can't stand it any more. I might call the vet and see if they think it would speed up the healing process if I give him antibiotics. He only had a scratch on his ear but kept scratching it until he made it worse.

Queen, congrats on the weight loss. I was doing better, but then I came here where we eat out or someone likes to cook/bake! Since he has fought his weight, I am surprised. He had a huge zucchini and made loaf after loaf of zucchini bread which I don't really care about. Cucumbers are so good and tonight will be marinated cukes, onions, kohlrabi and cabbage plus ribs.

Sue, I have been waving when we cross the 45th over here! Sorry I won't be seeing you in Michigan this year and to be missing the GTGs. Lyn, such a great trip you had (minus the 7 Feathers bug)! I hope you can avoid the knee surgery!

LeRoy was back in fixit mode yesterday. The trailer I bought for the Slingshot is so poorly wired that he has practically redone all of it. Has covered electrical and the air hoses to protect from road debris. We also walked the deer plots that were planted Sunday. Things are sprouting and the deer have been investigating.

Glad to have the sun shining today after a few cloudy days but was nice to cool off!

Have a great day and safe travels!!

Good morning all! As Donna said it should be a nice day here in PA! Lower humidity is a good thing! Today is the first official day of the Grange Fair Encampment so I'll be heading over the mountain soon to spend the day there. I helped my good friends move things in on Wed before the rain hit and they were there yesterday finishing their setting up. She knows where she wants everything so it's always better to leave that to her! They added a few more days to it this year so don't know if I'll make it out every day! It's a fun time, We plop ourselves in a chair and watch people and wander around now and then to check out the different buildings. And of course, we have to see what new food vendors are there and old reliable ones! By the end of the week end we'll be planning our own meals at the tent. Fair food just lasts so long! Plus visiting people we don't see but once a year!

Kathleen, was sorry to hear about your pup. Hugs to you. And Mickie, congrats on your weight loss! Sounds like your move was a healthier one for you! I'm looking forward to hearing about Liz and Tina's adventures in Ireland that start soon! Must get a move on here, I still have a couple of things to do before I head out. Have a great day and stay safe.

Afternoon here. Today is the first day in a long time I have felt like reading and/or posting. I had Robotic surgery a week ago and let me just say I am NEVER having surgery again. I just wanted someone to shoot me after I got home. I had to spend an extra day in the hospital as I was soooooo sick, could not eat, drink or pee. Things they like you to do before discharge. I got to go home on Saturday and did okay. Pain pills are NOT my friend. I have had 2 Vicodin in my life and they made me sick to my stomach and this time I had Percocet and only took 1/2 and still did not do well. Doc changed it to Dilaudid...oh lordy even worse. Couldn't eat, nauseated, vomiting, dizzy....SO, decided I would just suck it up and really the pain is not that bad I just need to support my stomach getting up or sitting or coughing. It is day 2 drug free except for my antibiotic and I feel like I am going to live. I even went to the grocery store as food was sounding interesting to me.....finally. Thanks for letting me whine.

Took a while to get caught up on the forum. So much going on, very exciting. I need to go over and start my Motorhome and run the genny but do not want to overdo it so will do that tomorrow morning. Not a big job just needs to be done.

Karen, I'm so sorry about your not feeling well. I totally understand - although pain meds usually knock me out - sometimes for way longer than they intend. However, if they don't, they upset my stomach.

Everyone will listen to you whine as they were so good about me whining in my prep for the colonoscopy - which I believe was my first and LAST colonoscopy. The actual exam is not that difficult, but I can tell you that the day before reminded me of when I had food poisoning and last night didn't thrill me either - as no one mentioned when they told me how I must be so glad to be able to eat again, that after effects of the pre-liquid would mean running to the bathroom again. I guess that isn't as bad for some - for me I spent most of last evening back in the potty.

Oh, and if/when you have a colonoscopy do NOT have your annual doctor's visit scheduled for the next day. Needless to say having a pap exam today was painful (and I've never thought one painful before). Doctor, nurse and I all agreed that the irritation from all the going potty with the liquid drink probably was the reason. No problem, never again! It helps that my results were good.

Bad news is the doctor's scale provided real evidence to the weight I have gained after leaving Keystone last fall. I need to get back in the shape I was in just a year ago. I know how the gain started, but now, eating better, I'm still eating too much. Time to stop that. So I give you big kudos on that weight loss, Queen.
