Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday After Storms

Mornin' ladies ~~~
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Stormy night last night. Spent about 45 minutes in the basement. The sirens never stopped. Power went out too for a bit, so that was wonderful. Luckily no damage.

Carol glad you & Bill are finally in the house. Saw the pics. It's really nice and you're making it yours. Kathy let me know if it's definite for you to go to Pontiac this weekend. I have something I might want to pick up at Pontiac RV, so I'd stop by for a quick visit.

Everything else here is pretty status quo. Have a good day ladies & stay safe.
Cheryl

Good Morning, We had storms here too with really heavy rain. Guess who left their car windows down. I thought the last time I did this I had learned my lesson but no...well at least it's nice and clean inside now. No sirens during the storms though so thankfully we didn't have to head for the basement. Looks as though the rain isn't finished with us yet. I should get myself motivated, as usual I need to get a dog on the grooming table. It's never ending with three with lots of hair. If short haired dogs didn't shed so bad I'd be tempted.I've not figured out what to do with Mitzi's hair, she looks like someone trimmed her with hedge clippers. Her hair has just a little curl so it sticks up like she has ruffles, while Andy with the same cut, looks fine.

Good Morning to All - I was up before light again this morning. What is with that? But saw a really nice sunrise over the desert. And it was actually nice out. Today our weather here in Vegas is supposed to start cooling off - tomorrow down to only 106 then down to normal...101, 103 etc for the weekend and maybe cooler and rain next week. That will be nice.
We got a lot of good things done yesterday. The store agreed we'd get the cabinet for what we paid for it. The movers called and our furniture etc will be here from Indiana by the weekend. The patio cover and awning got put up. So many riches in one day.
I put pictures on the blog. Might eventually put a little white picket fence along the front sidewalk.
Heard about the storms in the Chicago area - some of them went through where we used to live too.
Today will be busy too, TV installer coming and big delivery from Lowes. And I need to rearrange the stuff in the freezer - just shoved stuff in there when we moved in.
Take care if you're traveling - we will be putting the Alfa in storage tomorrow morning for a while. Got to get settled here before going anywhere.

Good morning ladies,

Sirens never went off here and while talking to my friend this morning, she says her DH saw a tornado forming over near their house (which is about 4 blocks away from mine). My guess is that it never fully formed and went back up into the clouds before anyone saw it but them, thus no sirens. I know it rained pretty hard here but that's all, no damages.

Cheryl, not heading to Pontiac as I first thought; just going to my club for a quick weekend. Probably will head out Friday afternoon, and might take the Big Dog with me again. He wasn't too bad on our first trip. Hoping with school back in session that most campsites will be empty.

Cooler weather today after that front moved through. At least I can turn off my ac and save some on electric bill.

Not much else to report from here. One owner texted to say she forgot she's got the day off today and now so do I! That's fine with me.

Need to go get into something to do this morning before I go to work. Think I'll straighten out a cabinet in the utility room that's badly in need of straightening out. Also need to put in a call to my computer guy about that %$#* laptop and Windows 10.

Everyone take care,
Kathy

I am abandoning my spot with a view of the bay near Freeport, ME. The view is terrific, but I am tired of dealing with the heat and humidity with no electricity hookup and limited generator hours. I woke up this morning at 9 to it being 82 inside, just not what I can handle. I could sit outside, but then I could not get my work done, and I have a ton of things to grade.

No refund for my site for one day, but it is worth it to me not to have to sweat and be sticky all day. Even a small breeze would let some slightly cooler air into this tin can!! It cooled off a little last night, but never got below 76 inside even at 5:00 am, and I do not sleep well in the heat. OK, I am a wimp, but I am also getting old and the cost is just not worth my comfort.

Who would have thought a site on a bay near the ocean in Maine could be so stifling hot???

I do have to admit I bought some fantastic "picked" lobster last night and a terrific loaf of cranberry walnut orange bread, which was my breakfast this morning.

Good Morning,

I usually keep an eye on a severe weather site in the evenings, but I didn't last night - too tired. Glad no one had anything serious happen!

Judy, I would have thought you would be comfortable by the water! I'm so tired of heat and humidity though we are having some cool, wet days now. Rain is much appreciated!

We spent the last two days making runs to Green Bay and back - about 100 miles each way. LeRoy knew he had a skin cancer coming back - has been treated and treated. Went to the dermatologist Monday and she didn't feel certain she could scrape it due to the location in his ear. Yesterday we went to a Mohs surgeon. It was suppose to be a biopsy, but a misunderstanding between L and first doctor so they went ahead with Mohs.

L's son and grandson were here Sunday to plant deer plots. Some of you may recall I got Green Bay Packer Jordy Nelson's autograph in Kansas back in June. Grandson was ecstatic! Football, magazine cover and frame with photos I took at the charity signing. The son pulled the card out of his wildlife camera he has here. Deer, black bear and bobcat are hanging around. I haven't seen any of them.

Things to catch up on - including reading the forum! Have a good day and safe travels!

good morning ladies, such a different schedule this year of who I'm picking up and where, its draining me out. I actually
have to use my brain and do some thinking, it really is much nicer when I can just do things on automatic, but that is a ways off yet. Anita, hope Leroys surgery goes well. We're getting a few degrees break in the temperatures here, its still hot but at least the ac can keep up. About that time of the morning I go lay down for a bit of nap. Sometimes I fall asleep and sometimes not, it just feels good to rest.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Glad all are safe from storms. Our temps are finally heading down out of daily triple digits into 90's. And humidity back from a low of 6% to this morning 60%! No new fires in our area, thankfully but still had smoke yesterday from up north. What surprised me was when son and I had to head to CVS around 3:15, we saw nearby high school cross country track team heading out down the street on their practice run. 98 degrees, smoke in air, and air quality termed unhealthy, and they send the kids running????? I felt for the kids who were just doing what they were told. Not a teacher or water bottle to be seen either.
Have a good rest of your day. Hope you find a cooler spot Judy. Glad you got into the house Carol and Bill.

It's not after the storms here yet. The lightening and thunder woke me up about 5. I was afraid our electricity was going to go off but it only blinked a couple of times. All of this is coming off the gulf and going Northeast so get ready. I got board so went back to bed for a while. I am sure glad I went to town yesterday and didn't wait until today.

BJ, we can't leave our vehicle windows down or the cats would take up residence. We have had some incidents of them stealing food out of vehicles if people left their windows down here.

Judy, I tried to spend the night in my motorhome one time without electricity and the temperature was 76. Our humidity is always so high that every thing felt sticky. It was a long night. I tried putting a wet towel on my face and putting ice in a bag. I am so use to sleeping with a ceiling fan that I have to have a little fan blowing at night or I don't sleep very well even with air conditioning. I don't see me doing much boon docking because I like electricity a lot.

One of the house cats has a scratch on his ear and he just keeps making it worse. If I put medicine on it he just scratches it more. If it starts bleeding aging I going to put one of the plastic collars on him. He's not going to be a happy camper. I have a big cage in the old house but don't feel like moving it. I guess I could shut him up in the bathroom.

I have been in a couple of places before without electricity--one was on Lake Mead in December and it was positively chilly. I was very comfortable. You just can't count on weather. Had it been less humid or if there had been a breeze, it would have been fine. Even with my fan on there was nothing coming through my open windows.

Can you believe that in over three years, the coldest place I have camped was in Death Valley? I had electricity but it was freezing cold there that year in early December. Of course my electric heater decided to die (I now have a spare) and I ran through propane like crazy and ended up having to drive 40 miles for a refill! It got down to 22 degree each night with daytime highs in the 60s, at the most.
