Still waiting for the house UPDATE

We closed on the house in Vegas last week and "they" promised it would be move in ready today. Well it isn't. Maybe I shouldn't say that because we haven't been there yet today. But when we were there at noon yesterday only half the wood flooring was down, the carpet hadn't arrived and the kitchen cupboard doors still had to be painted. They were going to replace all the doors, but the new ones wouldn't match all the rest of the cupboards in the house in style so we said NO - fix and repaint the old ones. Also supposed to put hardware on them. Refrigerator and dryer were supposed to arrive yesterday sure hope floor in kitchen got done first. Sink was sitting on top of new counter in laundry room.
Garage was still full of stuff pulled out of housed = the floor needs to be fixed and painted. Contractor said they would work all weekend - b
But heard one of the works say "I don't work Sundays." Kind of reminds me of Brown County. Sure hope they are done Monday as we are having deliveries made Monday and Tuesday. Computer desks with hutches, living room furniture [love seat, couch, recliner, 2 tables and lamps], a futon and dining room set. Also I wanted to line cupboards while waiting for stuff to get there.
As far as our stuff from home - as near as we can figure out it is still in Indiana. So heaven knows when we'll get it.
So that's my moaning for today. Rained hard here last night - not supposed to get quite as hot today. Hope so. The Alfa is having a hard time trying to keep it cool inside.

Carol good luck with all the moving in/out, deliveries, etc. Enjoy your time in Las Vegas and the rain you got last night. Here in CA we just got sprinkles with lots of thunder and lightening last night.

Congrats on the Close but too bad you can't get in there yet. Post pic of the new place when you can and enjoy! Hope the climate change does both of you a world of good.

Well, Carol, you sure do have enough stresses to keep your mind active! Nothing ever goes smoothly, does it? I know it will all work out in time, but I hope it's a quick time!

We still are not living in the house -- but are considering it. Most of the work is done. Only a few small things and a couple of big outdoor things to finish. We have had all the new furniture delivered - so we have table and chairs, a living room set to relax on and got our futon so we could sleep there if we want. Have a telephone to call for "take out." But we don't have TV...can't miss my races.

Still haven't got a for sure delivery date for our stuff from Indiana - basically it will get here when it gets here. By the end of the week I want to pick up my car from our son's house where he has been so kindly storing it.

you be able to store the Alfa at the park?

I am still playing the "hurry up and wait" game here too with the new studio apartment! Can't believe how slow they are in getting things done! Am hoping it will be finally finished by the end of this week and I can start moving in!

Most of the stuff with the house is finally done. Just waiting for the kitchen knobs and the shed to be delivered.
And of course THE BIG Thing - our furniture to be delivered from Indiana...maybe by the end of the week it will be here...We spend most of the day over there - but have finished most of the things we can do - so end up just sitting around waiting. Getting on our nerves. I don't even want to go shopping any more.
