Here's a link to a pictorial history of rv's by the Chicago Tribune (thanks for the link to a friend on my singles forum):

Great photos, did you notice how big the kitchen space seemed to be in almost all the models! Also loved the real wood cabinets. There is a 1973 GMC on e-bay now.

that was way cool. I personally loved the Condor II. I think the same people are still designing the interiors. What's with all the wallpaper borders?

Thanks Beth, for the link for the old r.v's. I love seeing them. Have in the past seen some and was amazed they came into being so early. Seems as soon as they develped the motor, the car and beginning of R.V's were off. But then we can't forget the wagon and the pioneers heading west.. We just enjoy more comfort now. Always very interesting, I just wish they had shown more.

Thanks,

Carol

I would have liked to see more interior shots. I just love looking at the inside of other's rv's and what they have done with them...guess I'm nosey.

I wonder why John Steinbeck had his camper built for him in "Travels with Charlie." It seems there were models he could just have bought. In his book it almost sounds as if he invented the truck camper.
