Crazy day! Took the boys for a long walk, this morning. Passed Beth and Peaches on our way home. I washed my hard side kayak. One of the gals, who works in the store, thinks she may want to buy it. I haven't got to use it for awhile and I'm tired of lugging it around. I still have my inflatable, anyway. Needed groceries, so made a run to Rapid City. Wanted to check out a health food store. They didn't have my body wash, but the girl there said to try Target. I found Target and my body wash...plus a number of grocery items. I take a cooler in the back of Gertrude (my truck), with some ice in it. Put the cold stuff in and got the GPS to guide me to JC Penney. My drapes, in the front, have seen their better day, so wanted to see what they had. Looks like I either need to order them, online, or make some. Leaning toward making some. Need to figure out some kind of clips that can hook into the little rings on the drapery track. Don't like using the old fashioned pin type hooks. Stopped at Arby's and had a reuben sandwich. First time I've had one, there, and it was wonderful :D It's a lot of food for me, but I ate it all, as it wouldn't be good later, with the sauerkraut on it. Never did get hungry for supper. Just had a snack. Was running out of time, so made a quick dash into Walmart, before heading home. Got home in time to take the boys out, quickly, put away the cold stuff, and walk to work. Hit the floor, running, at work. I'm bushed!

I had called Camping World, yesterday, trying to find out if I can get a replacement for my solar panel that broke in the hail storm. Fleetwood had said it was obsolete and they sent me a photo of what they're replacing it with. Doesn't look anything like the old one. Doesn't even look like it attaches to the AC shroud, like the old one. The guy at Camping World said he would research it on Monday. I looked through the original paperwork for Myrtle, again, after I got off the phone. There was one page on it that was photocopied from something. At least it gave me a name for it and company. I looked online and think I've found the same thing I have! It's kind of pricey, but insurance should reimburse me. Bummer of it is that it actually costs less for a stronger one, but I'd have to figure out how to set it up, etc. Have an appt on July 6 to get an estimate on the damage to Gertrude. I sure hope the hail is done!!!

Better get to bed. Throwing a log on for you night owls ;)

Good day and crazy day today. Crazy, which will continue for several days, as the owners also had a gift shop attached to a museum in town. They are keeping control of the museum, but have leased the gift shop. Thus they have LOTS of product to get rid of and guess where the bulk came? I spent most of today doing inventory on just a portion of the product. And putting it in the computer, etc. Continuing to do that in my spare time will be the continued crazy.

For the good: One of vendors today told me ytd in sales with just his product, sales are up 12+%. Then another vendor was in and told me she's impressed, but also wanted to tell me she'd talked to my boss about the store last week and, in case he wasn't forthcoming, he told her he's really happy with what I've been doing. Nice to hear. Especially because sometimes I remember why I've been enjoying being the peon, not the boss :-)

Thanks, Birdie and Sandi. There is still a lot I need to do and room for improvement, but one step at a time, and you both were here. Wish you could be here this year, too.

Been busy lately, so not much posting. I'm still in Canada, but moved from Tobermory to Huntsville, which is on the east side of Georgia Bay--long drive on two-lane roads. Something is thumping around when I start and stop, but have not yet figured it out. Going to use more Velcro to stick down my rear dinette and move the cooler to start eliminating things. Really irritating when you have no second person to check such things as you drive. I also had my overhead sun roof pop open and flap around as I was driving and it took two stops to get it latched. I seldom use it because it shines in the TV but my sons use it and I suspect Son #1 left it unlatched a couple of weeks ago. Very, very hard for me to reach way up there.

I had a bad experience in the Lands End campground in Tobermory, and I am just getting over being steamed about it. First the "free" WiFi was for only 30 minutes--after that you had to pay $5 a day, and as you know, I need more than 30 minutes a day! Second, I scratched the gel coat and needed the help of three people to get into my site four days ago. The site was open enough to get satellite and it was a lovely spot, but this campground has very narrow roads overgrown with pine trees and very sharp turns. The guy behind me took an hour to get his 5th wheel around one corner and then into his site. When you complain, you get the "we would have been glad to help you" story. Helping someone get past all the branches is not the solution--trimming trees and being more honest about the size of rigs they can handle is the real solution. I would not recommend that place to anyone with more than a popup or very short trailer or a motorhome less than 24' long. AND, the dump station is way in the back around several sharp turns and more low branches, so I skipped it. They offered to pump my tanks for $15, but I was so mad by then I told them if I had to pay to dump my tanks I would pay somewhere else, which is exactly what I did this morning. Drove down the road to other campground and paid $10 to use their dump station. Seems like if you are paying $45 per night you ought to be able to get to the dump station without scratching your RV!!

Coming and going from my site was impossible under the tight conditions, so I rode my bike and got a shuttle to pick me up for the boat tour I took. Met a very nice pair of couples and had long chats around their campfires. One couple full-timed locally because they still work, but plan to get traveling as soon as they can retire in a couple of years. In the meantime, they travel as much as they can. Funny thing is they grew up in the same small town my great-grandparents lived in the mid-1800s.

FYI - I was able to get DISH satellite in Canada and Detroit local stations, but apparently (per Dish) it is illegal. Shhhh.

Having been in Keystone recently, I can attest to the fact that Beth has that store very well organized and stocked with everything you might want. Great job Beth. Judy, sorry to hear about the campground issues. Happy to report Mosquitos are going downhill. Not too bad here as I've been able to sit on my porch without any. Maybe in deep woods, might be different. Barbie, glad you got your camper fixed and hopefully it will sell fast for you. Sheila, I did enjoy your visit. Hopefully you are feeling better and things are settling down for you.

Glad to hear mosquitos are going downhill! We had hundreds of them get inside, I assume through the slides, at Tahquamenon Falls and a few less at Hartwick Pines. I was really worried about that place for week after next.
