Thanks, Cheryl! Healing is sloooow going, sure wish the doc hadn't said "oh, you'll be feeling just fine in 6-12 weeks", then everyone I've talked to whose had this done says "oh, it takes 6-12 MONTHS to get back to normal". At least I get to heal in the sun!!

Dropped my son and the two kids off at the airport today. Just as we were started unloading suitcases and junk, discovered that the 8 year old was still in her Pajamas!! So she had to change quickly, but last thing we needed in the rush, plus both kids needed to have socks dug out of the suitcases.

I stopped at Laundromat on way back to campground and got all sheets, towels, and rugs washed, plus a load of my own clothes. Everything was sandy, so I vacuumed and cleaned before putting stuff away. And I am really not feeling well--exhausted and some of that female stuff they don't bother telling you about menopause. Got a doctor appointment tomorrow morning, and then up to Frankenmuth.

Thought I had my refrigerator fixed, but it is still not working on propane. Guy is coming again tonight after work. Also, my satellite seems to not be searching for a channel, so I have been without TV for several days. Will ask him about looking to see if anything is stuck up there. And to make thins worse, after surviving the worst mosquito swarms every in northern Michigan, the fish flies are not out around the lakes. (We all got bit, but kids mostly. I dug out the mosquito head nets I had bought a long time ago. Best $3 each I had ever spent!) In order to put my slides in this morning, we had to have my grandson man the switch and my son and I sweep hundreds of them off from the sides of the slides. What a mess! Will have to manage on my own tomorrow morning.

Judy what mess! Sorry you aren't feeling well. It always seems that stuff goes more wrong when we aren't feeling so good. Hope your Dr. can get things sorted out for you.

Judy, I've never known a fish fly to bite? Just be totally annoying. What a mess around the slide. I've been where we had to get snow plows out to clear out the fish flies. That was something.

Mobile RV came again late today. TV turned out to be just a loose wire. I was imagining having to replace the whole dish so I am VERY happy! The refrig seems to be lighting. He showed me the flame and how it is working. However, it did not seem to be working last week, so we shall see.

Am hoping the doctor can solve my medical issues, so I can enjoy myself in Frankenmuth! Got a lot of work to do, and MUCH easier to do it now that company is gone, as much as I enjoyed having them around!

Yes, the fish flies do not bite but they are really annoying because they like to do things like land on your face. Got to take a shower and do one last check to make sure I have all the little critters--love my electronic swatter.

Too late for morning coffee so will post here instead...

Spent the whole day working on the camper. Want to get it looking nice to sell and make sure everything works properly on it. There was a zipper that was broken on one of the windows and I was able to fix that. Just need to buy a stop thingy for one end of it now so it doesn't come apart again. I checked out the sink since Rita's husband said the pump for it didn't work (hand pump) but discovered it does work (wish I had known that before the camping trip tho! Would have come in handy). Just needs a new sink strainer. I bought one but it was the wrong size. The built-in cooler door was broken so it was just used as a storage area. I made a styrofoam "door" for it that fits nice and snug on there now and decorated it to match the cabinets. (will take pics). Then I figured out how to take down the curtains and brought in the cushions. Went shopping for a few things at Walmart and Menards. Got two of the cushions recovered (stapled material to the plywood on the back side of each cushion). The other two I have to do a bit of sewing to lengthen the material to cover completely before stapling that on. Since I am not planning to keep the camper, I decided not to put curtains on the ends in front of the beds, just for the windows on the sides. And also no valances. I am going to reuse the curtains that were on there (since the clips are attached to them) but do some repairs where the mice chewed on them and then cover them with a teal material to match the cushions. If I can figure out how to thread and use my new sewing machine (that I bought last winter  ), I should have that all done by next week.
I called the DMV the other day and they said I should have the title for the camper by the end of next week, so then I can list it on Craigs List just before the 4th of July.

So it was a busy, productive day! :D

Grand fun with the kids today. Since son #1 is in-state, we went to lunch at Clara's. It's in the original capitol train station, built in the 1870s, I think. They've recently added two railway dining cars from the early 1900s to the mix.

I guess you could say we rode the rails for lunch!

Nice pic Louise - sorry I didn't see it before.

Dang - came home from work today, and backyard tree is 1/2 down from the winds. Second tree in 5 years. Tree guy coming tomorrow for estimate. The AC guy is coming too. Needs charging.

When it rains it pours ~~~ literally. I give up.

Sorry to hear about the trees, we spent $7500 the first two years we owned our house in Urbana on tree removal, it was very painful financially. Stupid silver maples. :(

Well, I finally figured out how to organize my Bookmarks on this Mac, I've only had it for at least 6 years...but if anyone else has wondered here is what I did and it worked! Go to View at the top and pick sidebars, then Bookmarks. When the list comes up (over to the left) you can drag and drop into place just like you can or used to be able to on Windows. :D :D :D

I made it to the local state park this afternoon. There are 6 of us here today. I think a couple will come tomorrow. I don't know if this will post because I don't have a strong signal.

I went to Walmart this morning and I should have gone yesterday. It decided to storm. When I got home the electricity was off to one of the bedrooms and I never could get it to come back on. I would like to get my hands on the guy that labeled our electric box. I have relabeled a few brakers as I find out what they go to. My son is going to come see about it tomorrow. It's always something when I want to leave. One of the cats has an ear infection that has to be doctored 2 times a day. If I was going farther than 8 miles I would have had to cancel. I made Harold follow me in my car so I would have it.

Rain is predicted for every day so don't know what we will do. Some want to go to thrift type stores. I have never been to any in Abbeville so you know how interested it that I am.

Well. You can tell I've got LOTS of time on my hands, now that school's out. :D

So, my project this summer is to make an crocheted afghan. I learned to crochet last summer, and when I went to see Sharon (Sprinter) she showed me how to make a basic granny square. I thoroughly love being able to take it with me when I go to the beach, which is an almost every-weekend experience to watch my friend's son surf.

Here's a pic of last weekend. It was downright chilly until about 10:00. You can see my crochet in my hands. ;)

I went to a Senior Citizen center on Tuesday, where the grandmother of one of my students taught me how to make a circle in a square. They're fun!

Image

Here are a few of the granny squares, along with the circle-squares. I'm using cotton -- just don't like acrylic yarn. Think I'll use white to border everything. It's going to be a busy, but happy-colored afghan!

And here's who I have to fight for my recliner ... bless her heart!

I don't know how to resize pictures ... :?

Laura, I crochet but had not seen the circle in a square. I will have to study your nice picture to figure it out. Going to be a pretty afghan.
