Skunky Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Skunky Thursday

Good morning all

Well, whoever said that skunk might have babies under my shed was right! Last night when DH got home he hollered don't let the dogs out--BABY SKUNKS!!! At least three of them. So pups are back inside until those dratted animals decide to leave my shed. I hope since they were coming out and one went pretty far from the shed that they are weaned and wanting to head out into the world and it will soon be skunk-less in my yard.

Big news today is the parade and rally for the Blackhawks who won the Stanley Cup. I've never watched hockey before but did watch that last game. It was an eye opener for me; I didn't realize how athletic hockey players have to be. Those guys never stopped moving the entire time! At least football players get a quick break now and again.

I'm not sure our new water softener is working correctly. At first it was great the water was almost TOO soft. Lately it runs out of soft water too soon and we are having to set it to make more. DH set it to go off last evening and today the water's still hard. I think there is a part inside that needs cleaning out. He isn't convinced. I don't know how we'll get it fixed, it's not like we can just pick it up and return it to the store.

Well, horses need to be let out and stalls cleaned so I better get going. Hope there's no SKUNKS in my barn.

Wow, so glad my under shed dwellers were always possums, they didn't stink and really didn't bother me much.

Hockey is fantastic (yay Hawks!!), if you ever get a chance to see a game in person, do it, the speed and athleticism are unbelieveable!!

Waiting for the AC fella this morning, time for the annual check up, then off to the pool for water aerobics, wheeee.

Good Morning!

Kathy, I had just commented the other day that the SS is good for smelling the alfalfa or whatever is nearby. Then I passed rotting road kill including a still quite a well-scented skunk! What a nuisance you have.

Thanks to Cheryl and anyone else for the links to backing up sites. I can now stay here until Sunday and then probably back to the farm. While there, my cousin has agreed to give me lessons. I am sure I just don't start to straighten out soon enough.

Carolb, glad to see your post - knew you were out having fun and glad Peggy joined you! I know breaks take awhile even after the cast comes off.

Yesterday was a lot of fun! I met my daughter on her way to work to pick up 11 yo granddaughter. She had her helmet on and threw arms up in the air before I even got in the driver's seat! As I accelerated she screamed - with excitement/delight (her words)! Ihop for breakfast, the zoo, Sonic for a 'blast' (similar to DQ blizzard). Mama was done with work at 1 and Natalie was ready to go home. Nikki's co-workers were wishing I had picked Natalie up at work so will do that tomorrow.

Not much rain predicted here for awhile - about time! :)

Have a great day and be safe!

Good Morning, Anita your granddaughter will never forget that ride. Bet she is the only kid in the world who has a Grandmother with a SS! Glad you are healing Carolb even though it is slow.
Kathy have your horses had rabies shots? Back in the 60's or 70's one of the horses at the University that my first DH trained and took care of had rabies and he and a student worker had to take the shots.
Still raining here and supposed to be even heavier rain for several days. Farmers are very worried needless to say. Good to see you back Queen and all settled in FL!
I had a good visit with a couple of my friends yesterday afternoon, visiting over a great strawberry dessert one brought and a good bottle of wine. Off for my seasonal acupuncture treatment this afternoon, so glad as this one really helps me to tolerate the heat and humidity.

Having had skunks under my house....the Pest guy (to remove them & take them to a safe habitat), told me they usually return to their 'nest' every year to have their babies..... sold the house so don't know if the new owners are having a 'problem'..... :D
