Oregon GTG July 1-8th 7Feathers RV Resort

Just made reservations by phone this AM at Seven Feathers Rv Resort for July 2 leaving July 9, space 36. The gal that made my reservations said there were plenty of availabilities during this time. Oh, she also told me there were fireworks on July 4 in the hotel parking lot and it gets really loud. Anybody got any good ideas for something to soothe a 14 year old dog?? He gets really freaked out during loud noises - fireworks.

Linda, Krissi used to have a prescription for whatever the generic is for Xanax. I gave it to her when I first got my RV because she was so nervous. Now she's fine and Abby is the one who's not comfortable. It's supposed to be anti-anxiety. I found whatever strength they gave her made her sleepy but only for about 2 hours.

They have never had fireworks there before. The town of Riddle close by has a huge display and they have a shuttle that takes you there from 7Feathers. There are NO fireworks allowed on tribal land unless they changed that info. When the gal said they have fireworks there and they get really loud I do not know how she would know as they have never done this before. That is one of the reasons I go to 7Feathers over the 4th because my dog is freaked out by them and have never had a problem camping there. I do have sedatives that I travel with for her and would be happy to share with you if this is indeed going to happen.

That be said I am happy you will be joining us, we should be having a great time for sure. Yay, space 36 is not too far away!!!

I will be calling tomorrow just to find out if what you said is true or if she was just misinformed. Thanks for the heads up tho

My dog is terrified of fireworks as well so I sure hope this is a mistake.

I'm super happy you'll be joining us! I also saw that Lyn is going to be there as well. This will be so much fun!

I am SO looking forward to this! Is anyone actually arriving on the 1st? I'll be going through there that day, then up to Vancouver to visit my dad and brother, coming back down on the 5th and can stay until whenever as at that point I'll
be making my way back to Arizona.

I just called the rv park. They confirmed that fireworks are not allowed in the rv park but they weren't sure what was happening over at the casino. I called the casino and yes, they are going to have two fireworks displays. One on the 3rd and one on the 4th. Each event will last 20 minutes.

I will probably take the dog for a drive on the freeway during each event. Hopefully, that will eliminate any issues.

While I won't change my plans, I am very disappointed.

What dates are most folks arriving? I am looking into where to stay that week before our reservations on the 5th at the county park across the street from Seven Feathers......

The area is surrounded by National Forest land. I'm pretty sure you can find a spot nearby especially if you arrive in the area on Monday. I know Liz and Birdie camped near there on a lake. They might chime in with those locations or you could check their blogs for posts around this time last year.

On edit: I just checked availability at Stanton Park and they have spots the week before the 4th.

I sent Tina a pm, but it was Toketee Lake NF cg. Nice Cg with kayaking lake and hiking trails. Beautiful waterfall.
