Gray Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Gray Tuesday

Postby asirimarco » Tue Jun 09, 2015 6:40 am

Gray and foggy out this morning after rain yesterday and last night. No wonder it is so green here in Indiana.
We are getting down to the nitty gritty in our packing. Starting in the kitchen cupboards today. Trying to figure out what to get rid of - that pretty glass dish I haven't used since we moved here - it will go. The angel food cake pan - might I use it again? Pack it. Decisions, decisions. We have several rooms that the only things left in them will be sold. The house looks so unfriendly with all the knick knacks gone. We had an open house Sunday and only one couple came. And I think they weren't interested in buying at all - they just wanted to see the inside of the house. They were older - our age - no way they wanted a three story house.
Bill has good and bad and very bad days. Yesterday was spent mostly in bed. Today it isn't so muggy so maybe he'll be better. He is so looking forward to getting out of this area - but he loves it so much here. We've about worn our poor shredder out - why do I keep so much out of date paperwork?
Best get moving before it gets too hot. We have Mexican chocolate coffee and banana nut muffins. Help yourself.
All of you traveling take care. We're hoping when it comes time for us to go across country the weather will be dryer!

Good morning all
Ann good to see you post today. I've been wondering how things are going with your plans.

It's gray and gloomy here today too. This morning the last of my dogs needs to go to the vet's for his heartworm test. No way I can take all three at one time! They are too wiggly!

Ms. Cody the horse is feeling better today and is eating normally. I guess she was just having a bad day yesterday and just didn't feel good.

One of my dogwalking clients is going away on vacation so my daily schedule is very light. Need to get going on some home improvement projects while I have the extra time. One is to clean the siding on the house and I need to call my friend to borrow her 20' extension ladder to do it. Not something I'm looking forward to but it really needs to get done. We have a pressure washer but I don't like the way it works.

Take care of yourselves and if you're on the move, stay safe
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good Morning Ann, Kathy and all who follow,

Molly and I arrived at West Yellowstone yesterday and are settled into Grizzly RV Park here. Such a wonderful and lovely place. I'm sure if this were a resort and not a campground, would be paying a hefty price for all the amenities this park has. Not that it's cheap here as is, but way worth it. JudyJB, I'm katty korner from where you were when you stayed here. Am waiting for the bathroom/shower building to be opened so I can take shower, wash hair etc. and then Molly and I are heading into Yellowstone.

See a lot of you in the Midwest, south, etc. are having more rain. Looks like it might be one of those summers. And the poor folks in CA are wishing for rain and nothing. Those I have talked with on my travels out here are saying how bad it is. Looks like a dreadful fire season out there.

Ann, sounds like you are really making progress in clearing out stuff and getting ready to move. Hard to leave a place you love, but as you say you don't need that big house anymore and Bill would be better out where it's dryer. Open houses usually bring out lookers more than interestd buyers, especially the neighbors who are nosey  But people have been known to get into budding wars too. Kathy, be careful up on the ladder. How about doing my place when you are done.....

Looks like those on the road are enjoying travels. Liz and Nan are up in Maine and who knows where Tina and Mitch are right now. I know there are others out there too.

Time to move along here. Going to be busy day. Old Faithful and Geyer areas on agenda today. Looks like scattered storms this afternoon. So want to get what we can soon as we can get rolling.

Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning ladies, all is well in my neck of the woods, Maggie was on her own all night with the family, since Jon started
work yesterday we've been going over to the apt where Maggie is not allowed. The night before she stayed
in the trailer. Last night was too hot so the family had her in the house. So, of course I worried about her getting out and
getting lost but all is well this morning. I'll be babysitting the niece and nephew this morning as the sister takes Jon's dad
to a Dr appt.
About time to get some breakfast, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Glad you like Grizzly RV Park, Sue. It is one of my favorite places, which is really strange because I usually hate commercial campgrounds. FYI, they allow you to wash your RV if you want to, right at your spot!! It is a place I like to just sit in and relax or catch up on grading and other student stuff.

Other than the excellent ice cream, one other attraction West Yellowstone has is the Grizzly rescue center. You buy a two-day ticket and can wander in and out as you choose. They have 9 adult bears, most of which came in as pairs of siblings. They stay most of the day indoors, but they hide food under rocks and big logs, and every hour or so, they let out a small group to forage. Bears love to overturn big rocks and logs to get their goodies. A couple of times a day, they let kids come in to hide the food while the bears are indoors, and then the kids can later watch the bears find it. They also have a display of "bear-proof" containers they have tested there by putting food in them and letting the bears have fun trying to open them! Well worth a couple of visits. No Molly allowed, however.

Carole, you have done an amazing job of getting rid of stuff. Hope your house sells fast.

I am working today and got last minute grocery shopping to do. Meeting my California son and grandkids tomorrow to go camping in upper Michigan. Won't be on the forum much for next few days.
