Oh no more rain Sunday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good morning gals
Looks like more rain coming here in the Midwest, guess it's heading our way from Denver and all. Glad to hear Tina and Mitch and pups made it through ok.

DH and our son went fishing this morning-good for them! Although I enjoy fishing too, sometimes guys gotta go fishing together. Sure hope they catch some nice ones, we like to have fish fry and invite friends over.

Nothing exciting on my agenda today, still can't locate the dang skunk and I think it's still under the shed. MIght have to call a wildlife expert to get it out of there.

Breakfast was coffee cake (not homemade, I'm not that good of a baker! lol) and coffee. Help yourselves, there's plenty.

Have a safe and enjoyable day,
Kathy

Good Morning, Ladies.

It's Duck Day here in Naugatuck, CT. That's when they send 20,000 rubber ducks down the Naugatuck River to benefit various businesses and organizations around town. I've lived here eight years and have never gone. It's a gorgeous day here for rubber duckie floating.

Have a good day!

Diane, it's Duck Day here in IL too! Except no rubber ones, just the feathered variety enjoying this rainy weather! LOL

Good morning, Kathy, Donna & Diane,

You're right - things are quiet here this morning.
Kathy, hope they catch some fish. Donna, I know what you mean- waking up at 4 as long as you've slept well is good. Diane, We have something similar in KC with the ducks. I've never gone either but its nice to see it on the news. ;)

It's so humid here in KC that I've turned on the a/c much earlier than I ever before. Was hoping to get the deck stained but we still have rain in the forecast. I'm sure we'll get a few clear days eventually - just need to get it done before I head out to CA.

We have hired my replacement finally. I knew he was good so the fact that his current company wants him to stay & help find his replacement doesn't surprise me. He knows I have a timeline so I hope he can break away while I'm still here in KS. Looks like I'll have to learn programming on my own once I head out west. ;) Oh well, we have a great guy & the team will help me out when needed. Technology can make it happen. :D

Walked a 10K yesterday morning. Slower than last year but at least I finished & didn't come in last.
Next weekend we have a wedding shower for my granddaughter - will have a full house, so I'd better get busy.
Stay safe & enjoy the adventure!

Hot and humid here this morning too I knew it had to come but I'm never ready. Toby loves to lay in the sunshine, he is black and I just don't understand how he stands it. I looked out a bit ago and he was panting but when I called him to come in he was reluctant. He always picks the sun instead of all the shade that is in the yard. Maybe I'm a helicopter mom :)
Going to lunch with a friend after church and maybe to a winery for music (inside) later in the day. Sundays always seem so long so glad to have things planned. Hope everyone has a good day and to those on the road, safe journey.

Good Morning everybody,

Seems like rain and more rain is always the story these days. Was hoping maybe it would cease all this storming and such once June got here. Many of you could use a break as well of those traveling on the roads, trying to dodge the storms. Beautiful day here today again. Sunny and going to about 82. Nice breezy blowing through the canyon. I've been getting some exhaust from my hot water heater back into the camper and think it's the winds here in the canyon. Didn't have that problem till I got here.

Ducky days sound like fun. I've only watched one rubber ducky race once and they do one where I a live in winter, down a small/short ski slope to raise money for a charity cause. Never had gone to watch it.

Catherine, glad you got a replacement hired. Now to get ready to head west. Donna is heading north, I'm heading SW in the morning for West Yellowstone, Tina and Mitch are heading west and trying to dodge storms. Anita in KS last I heard. Ava is house sitting in CA. People all over the place. Wondering if Linda made it to Keystone. Haven't been on Campfire of late.

Molly and I had a beautiful drive down to Gardiner yesterday. The north entrance to Yellowstone NP. Nice area. The small town has the usual motels, restaurants and the old town park has gift shops etc. Saw the Teddy Ro0sevelt arch, the gate way to the park. Currently the road is under construction and I know the arch is no longer used as there is no way todays vehicles and RV's could get through it. So it sits off to the side.

Grocery restock on the agenda today as well as laundry. Changing bedding and all that. Getting things ready to hit the road to West Yellowstone tomorrow. Not a far drive, bit over a hundred miles. Will go into town early, so can leave Molly here now that she's used to the trailer and it's still cool here in the shade. Heading into low 80's today.

Y'all have a great day out there. Stay safe if on the road.

Good morning/ afternoon Everybody, I see where my Roadtrek buddy Dianedec has joined the Forum. She's a great person and I hope you all get a chance to meet her; virtually or otherwise. Another beautiful day here in CT, but my heart is heavy. My friend of 30 years died yesterday morning at 10 am from a massive heart attack. Instead of taking her daily 30 min walk, she told her husband that she had a pain in her back and she was going to lie down for a few minutes. Her death is unbelievable. Some if you met my friend, Nancy, at the gtg at Sliver River a few years back. Enjoy today. Peggy

Mornin' ladies (barely 11:52 am by my clock)~~~
Chicago has a 'Windy City Rubber Ducky Derby' too. Benefits the Special Olympics. Usually in August.

Yes, crazy weather it seems for most of the country. Things definitely seem out of kilter to me.

Had to get a tire fixed yesterday ("sliver" of metal) that the guy could barely find, no bubbles in the water even, but he did hear it. $15 bucks - awesome price. At least it's fixed. While I was there (at the dealer) a guy came in with a used F-150 he bought from the a week ago. Guess no one saw / knew there was structural damage done. The service guy, once he took a look at it, said he thinks the prior owner lost a trailer. Major damage to the welds that hold the hitch and the spots for the chains are totally bent out of shape also. They were getting a welder to look at it on Monday, but I'd sure be curious how the dealer is going to handle this. If it can't be fixed, I bet the guy wants his money back - I sure would.

It's in between the rain drops now - better get my errands done now - or never. Have a good day ladies.

Good morning ladies
Had a lovely time with Diana yesterday, We met halfway in neat little country town called Oakdale, lunch at a
local deli restaurant. Sandwiches were good and oh so big!! Then of course shopping . I stopped at a little farmers fruit stand on the way back, got some peaches and blackberries. Also got a sample fruit of a pluot.
I had never heard of a pluot, its a plum cross apricot. I haven't cut into it yet, so I can't tell you if its tasty or not. After that, the day consisted of routine stuff.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Actually a lot of us are posting late--even in late afternoon. I was busy getting packed up this morning and returnin rental car and granddaughter to her parents. On the ohio turnpike now headed back to michigan. Neck is really sore so hard to drive but just took some aspirin. More later.

Yes, a lot of us are posting late. We just got back at noon from a week in the outer banks, NC.
Now I got the yard all mowed and checking the forum to see what everyone is up to. DH is starting to put the stabilizer on the rig and work on the surge protector this week too. We didn't take the rv down there since we have a place there.

Will try to get out of here in about a week for a trip to the coast of Maine. Will be working the plan and I really appreciate the input from all of you that have been there! From what I gathered on other forums they say....."get to Maine first because you'll love it and find so much to see and do there" so I plan on reversing the way up and back in case I want to spend more time there.

JudyJB, while I was down South I found the kumatos (tomatoes) in FoodLion grocery stores, so good to know they carry them when you have access to a FoodLion. I just can't get those wonderful tomatoes and not think of you!

So sorry about your friend, Peggy.
This makes us all realize how fragile life can be & none of us know when our last day will come.
We must treasure each other & our loved ones while we have the opportunity.
Will keep her family & friends in my prayers.

Oh yes, Peggy... So sorry to hear of your friend passing. I meant to mention this a minute ago. While we were down South we found out about 2 of our good friends that we fished with...both died the same day, different circumstances. Everyone was shocked.

One was only 59 and died of complications from a hernia operation that turned out to be an extensive infection. How, I don't know??? The other guy was 66 and died suddenly of a massive heart attack, his son found him sitting on the couch.

The strange thing Is the two that died were very good friends! Hung out together all the time.

This is something we think about a lot since we ourselves are older. We are not guaranteed our next breath.
