Monday Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Monday

Good morning all,

Back from my Maiden Voyage with Angel. Things went pretty good all systems work except....she leaked like crazy around the couch window! Now, she has sat in my driveway ever since I've owned her and never leaked (through some bad rainstorms, I might add) so I can only think that driving down the road shook loose the caulk around the top of the window. I re-caulked around both the couch and cabover windows on that side even though cabover wasn't leaking. Other than that everything was perfect. In 3 weeks, DH and I will head out for a weekend for our anniversary. I am surprised at his interest in going with me; he has never said anything about camping with me when I went in Pony. We used to camp all the time when we were younger and even back when we had our rented lot and tt at the club.

Hope everyone's travels are going smoothly and you are enjoying yourselves and having good weather.
Kathy

Mornin' Kathy (on edit) Donna (you snuck in on me :P ( and all that follow ~~~

Sorry to hear about the leak problem, but glad the trip itself was a success. Maybe the DH just wanted something more homey than Pony. You may be creating a monster if he now wants to go all the time.

{{{Chilly Chilly cold here in NE IL}}} Took a ride to 3 of the campgrounds I booked for this summer and cancelled 2 of them (one was too far for a weekend trip and the other looked a little...not sure, but something was hitting me wrong. A girl from work goes camping at a campground called the same name, but not sure if she goes to the IL or IN campground. Driving was crazy, poured all day, and when the cold front came in, sure was glad I wasn't pulling Colt on I-80. It was a white knuckle drive with just Mar-E.

Keep filling us in on your road adventures ladies and stay safe.

What were the names of the campgrounds? I'm thinking of trying one for a gtg with another member from WI and would appreciate a heads up if it's one you didn't like.

Yeah, winds were crazy trying to drive home from the club too. I think Buddy thought we were going to take off like an airplane! ;)

God Morning everyone,

Yeah, tell me about winds. Wait till you drive the plains. it was really breezy the day I came across to Chamberlain. But my sway control held trailer firm and I just kept my speed down a bit. Fortunately no traffic out this way at all. Weather has been really nice since I got here to Rapid City.

Really enjoyed my time with Beth yesterday going through Custer State Park and so forth Loved watching the animals, especially those crazy burros. Beth is such a wonderful, gracious lady. Fun to be with. Thanks again Beth.

Todays' agenda is heading to Rapid City and Walmart to pick up a few things and an RV dealer in town to see if they have towing mirrors. My drivers side one let loose way back in MN and I would like to get a new one. My blind spot mirror on my truck mirror helps but I need something that makes things a little bigger than that little round job. Then after that it's laundry time sometime today as long as there is one here, not hat I won't have another one later. Cleaned "house" bit yesterday and washed the trailer windows. Amazing what one can see when the windows are clean, Might snoop the area a bit yet today too.

Gingerk sorry about the leaking window. You might eventually want to replace the foam sealer around the window if there is one and then recaulk. I agree with Cheryl in that your husband might like having something with a little less work and more home like to travel in. It's good that he likes the MH though. Might just be the start of something better, who knows. Cheryl, good luck finding campgrounds to camp. After this trip, camping in a campground just to camp is going to seem awful boring for me  But Iwill be out a few times this summer.

Well, got to get breakfast dishes done and get moving here. Time for a Molly walk. Had to laugh while I was fixing breakfast. My new Foreman grill was cookng my sausage and it set the smoke alarm off from the steam and new odors. It was sitting on the counter about a foot away. At least I know it works

Y''all have a great day out there. Donna, glad to are now at your DD's. Enjoy.

Edited to add GingerK I feel your pain the first time we had Windy out we sprung a leak too. Hope you have it fixed now. It took two tries for us to get it fixed.

Kathy ~ the ones I looked at were:
Shady Creek COE - cancelled - 3 hour trip from my place so too far for weekend - sites closer than Illini but looked like a nice campground on the Iowa side of the Mississippi
http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/shady-creek/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=73396

Prophetstown SP, IL - cancelled - on the Rock River - I had site 24 booked and it was grass (weed) - looked a little spooky to me - waiting for response from the girl at work - maybe you've been there before (?)
http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/prophetstown-state-park/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=IL&parkId=454241

Fisherman's Corner COE- IL side of the Mississippi - kept this reservation - 2 hrs from my house (or less) sites closer than Illini but looked a lot more inviting that Prophetstown - river is reallly close to some of the sites
http://www.reserveamerica.com/camping/fishermans-corner/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=NRSO&parkId=73185

But I'm already spoiled with full hookups from vacation and Illinoi width of sites, but that's just me :?

Thanks Cheryl. The cg I was thinking of is a private one in Pearl City. Found it by accident while out looking at horses a few years ago.
