Thanks, Judy. I was just wondering what in heck she was talking about. :-)

Arrived safely in Manteca, all is good, Jon getting good care from his sister, good meds and psych doctor and started his AA today. Blood pressure is back to normal and will have to always take those. The rest can be weaned later ln when its time.

Linda, glad to see you are heading to SD to work for Beth I could see you weren't happy with the other place and it was nice that they were understanding and even got your paychecks ready for you. Hope you have safe travels. Don't know what your timeline is for getting to Rapid City, but I will be there tomorrow and staying until Monday at least or maybe a day longer. Need to look at my itinerary to see where I am at as far as stops ahead of me. Have reservations in Livingston, MT for next Friday. Right now I am in Wall, so will be heading to RC in the a.m. sometimes. Can't get into campgrounds too early anyway. Think I am going to stay at Happy Holidays. Good Sam with all the goodies. Maybe get to met you before I leave, who knows. Safe travels.

Glad you made it to SD, Sue. How is Molly holding up with so many hours in the truck?

Ava, you are only about 120 miles south of me. I grew up in Tracy across the river from Manteca. Are you coming further north?

Judy, Molly is doing great. Has fallen into the trip routine. Sleeps all nice and stretched out on my trucks back seat as I made a nice platform all across the seat for her and has a foam pad and a blanket on it. She's comfty. We stop periodically and she enjoys getting out exploring the new places. In the campgrounds, she loves to lay outside and watch the doings around us. I've been able to leave my door open during the day as no bugs and she can go in and out when she wants as I have a long tie out for her. She's a happy camper.

As usual, I have been in my Type-A personality mode and have been planning for next November and December. As I was looking through campgrounds in California and Nevada, mostly state, national, and regional parks, I noticed a couple that are requiring you to bring your own water! So that is something to look for when any of us travel in drought areas. Hopefully, there will be some El Nino rain this fall to alleviate this somewhat.

And on the other side, I noticed that Potter's Creek north of San Antonio is flooded out completely! I'll bet a lot of the Texas campgrounds are in the same situation.

At least the rain here east of Toledo, OH, has stopped. I've been rocking and rolling all night and have had furnaces and electric heater going. Boy, does that electric heater feel good on my feet!

I'm planning on spending most of January in Southern California, so maybe someone will plan a GTG around that time.

Judy, I might fly out to SoCal next January for my birthday, so maybe we could meetup somewhere around San Diego then. Anyone else gonna be in that area then? Hope I can also meet Lyn then too.

Getting ready for my maiden voyage with my new (yet unnamed) camper on Thursday. Lots to do to get her ready. Once I get everything I need for camping, in there, I can leave most of it there until the next trip, so there won't be so much packing and unpacking in the future! Tomorrow I will start loading her up and figure out what will fit where, and what else I might need. Need to get it all done by Tuesday since it is supposed to rain Wednesday thru Friday. I don't feel so nervous about going camping in the rain now, with the camper instead of my tent. I know I will be much more comfortable and cozy! :D

Those on the road (Linda, Sue, and others) stay safe and have fun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, so much fun to get things for a new camper! I did get some things for AG, but in the end I mostly "borrowed" things from Pony and will switch them back should I need to use her instead of AG. I just love the puzzle of figuring out where to put everything in a camper, enjoy yourself!
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Ginger, Sue is right. All of us have put something in the perfect place and then never found it again so have fun!!

Amazing how you can misplace stuff in such a small place.

So very true. And forget what we were looking for in the first place, I do that a lot, too! Last weekend I never did find the puppy poop bags so had to use grocery bags. But I forget where I put them then while looking went "now what did I come back here for?"

Not sure where to post this so I'll put it here. Went to Wal-Mart in Yankton, SD today and noticed that there is a sign at the entry that there is no overnight parking for RV's. I know it's new because I have seen rigs in the lot late at night.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

even when the manager says it's ok one needs to be careful...we stopped at a wal mart in
St. George Ut and asked was given permission only to have police officer waking everyone up and sending
them on there way ...city ordinance no over night parking...
one thing I've done when setting up a new set up is using index cards with what is on that shelf
and taping the card to the inside of the door...just a thought

My city outlawed overnight parking as well. Used to see rigs at Walmart, SAMs Club etc, but was told by the Lieutenant who helped write the bill ( she did not want to as she had an RV) that they had no choice because people were abusing the privilege, specifically she said there were men bringing women to town in Rv to "work" and they caught more than one sexual predator also from out of town with their RV trolling for women and girls. The few ruin it for the many as usual.
