Yay!!!

I am not using any vacation time for this trip, so I will have some to use to go visiting later this summer!!

Thought this would be a perfect day to go pick up the camper after work. Got off work early but it is raining out, so not sure if I should do it today or wait until tomorrow morning, which would be tight with my work schedule. Have a call in to Rita to see what she thinks. I think I can rig up the tail lights when I pick it up if it isn't raining too hard.

It will be a great summer after all.

Barbie, love the photo of your Jeep and pop-up. Except for the traffic, July 4th weekend should be a long weekend. Maybe you can get Friday because the holiday falls on Saturday this year.

I'll keep it short, as it's late. I got the ranch mgr to stop by, after he got back from town, yesterday. He was kind and understanding. He wanted to know why I wasn't happy, so I told him that it was unorganized and driving me nuts. He agreed. I told him that 90% of my job is housekeeping and I don't want to be a housekeeper. I told him that is why I wanted a detailed job description and that he probably didn't know what the job entailed. He said he does and that when they're fully staffed, it will be different. I don't agree, but didn't say so. It won't change, unless they get full time housekeepers for the lodge, youth center, and teen center. Trust me...it's a lot of cleaning!!! I talked to his wife, this morning. She said she understands and that I'm doing this to enjoy my job and if I'm not, I need to go where I will. She will have my paychecks ready in the morning. It should cover my gas to get to SD.

I did have a great day, today :D Some workamping friends drove up, from the Salinas area, to see me before I leave. I told them I would buy lunch, if they picked up Subway on the way, so they did. We visited all afternoon and into the early evening. Time just flew! Rich, even offered to look at the shift indicator issue, with Myrtle, and fixed it! My BIL had just made an appt at the Freightliner place, in Sacramento, for Fri morning. They can cancel that 8-) Saved me some $$, too! I took a video of what he did, so I can buy a replacement part, for the one that broke, and put it on. No hurry, he said. It will work fine, for now. So simple that I can fix it :o This is the guy that replaced the brake calipers on the truck I had, before Penny. He was so excited to get to fix Myrtle, today. He said it made it worth the trip, just to do that. He loves working on vehicles! Such nice people and great friends! When they left, they called before they even got off the ranch to say some of their lug nuts just fell off of one of their wheels  Rick and I jumped in the ranch mule, that was at the neighbor's house, and drove down to help them. They had already found the lug nuts and had the car jacked up and lug nuts back on. It was so weird, as we had just been talking about a similar incident they had with their 5th wheel, on the way to Q.

OK...guess I have a hard time keeping it short  Better get some sleep. I head out of here, tomorrow!

I stopped for the night in Blythe CA, all is good, Jon thinks I'm leaving tomorrow morning but little does he know I'll be
about 5 hours ahead of schedule. It was nice to drive without my phone "pinging" away as he was at a doctors appt
and then his sister took him out to dinner. I'll be out of here before sunrise and get another good distance done without
hearing the phone "ping" . He's like that kid in the back seat always saying "are we there yet?" He's doing well, and his
sister has been taking him in to talk to a psychiatric that deals with addictions, this one being alcohol. Two different
blood pressure medicines and they have his blood pressure down to a safe level, Bunch of other meds for the issues that
go with the alcoholism and there ya have it. We're countin day by day and all is well. You girls don't worry about me, I'm
fine and totally calm with this latest ordeal. It is what it is. It actually feels a little odd not to be emotional about this
but I feel in my mind that I am totally secure in myself and how I've dealt with life over these past years. Enough on that.
Maggie is having a grand time rolling on the bed scratching her back. I picked her up one of those "expensive" flea collars
before we left cause I didn't want her picking up any fleas out there. Also stopped by her vet and picked up a copy of her
medical shots n all. She's good til may of next year. And wouldn't ya know it...I ALMOST walked out the door without her
dishes and food. :o  Off to bed now and unwind.

Safe Travels, Ava! The dogs and I are sitting this morning in an RV friendly Wal-Mart west of St. Louis. Drove more miles than expected yesterday. Those mid day naps can do that for you! Off to go set the Honda back into neutral and head on down the highway.

Put water in AG's tank and one of the drain valves gave me trouble. Just not closed all the way, fixed it. Will add food and start refrig this a.m. Leaving tomorrow morning rain or shine. Had last minute call from a client but turned her down, that's what happened last time I wanted to take AG's maiden voyage. Have a few things to do work-wise and a friend who sold her house wants me to stop over today and look at some of her horse stuff, see if I want anything before she moves. A close friend dropped a bombshell of news on me this week and I'm having a heck of a time dealing with it. Will probably mean the loss of a friendship if she continues with her plans. It's making me cry a lot thinking about it.

Ava, I was a wee concerned when you were telling us how ill Jon was, hope you are able and will leave him as planned and continue on with your longed for trip to see your Dad. His illness seems to come mostly from all of his drinking, I've known some like that and no matter what you do for them, it seems they will turn back to their old ways when a crisis is over. Thinking about you, and hoping you have a great summer doing all your traveling you've planned.

Ginger, sorry you have an upset, when your planning on trip with AG's maiden voyage. You have to set your mind to just enjoying your plans, You CAN NOT do anything about someone else's plans or things they do. DON'T let it ruin your plans or your joys of finally being out in her. !!!!! I'm sorry this has happened and might mean a friendship, have been through this so understand totally what and how you're feeling, but try to keep in mind you can not stop whatever is happening or going to happen. Wishing you a nice time out on your adventure this week end.

I've been watching some Alaskan TV programs, making me sure wish I was headed up there again this summer. Hoping for at least one more trip, if younger I might consider living up there. Thinking a partner might be nice with that choice though. Oh well, dreaming here, must get moving so I am ready for the trip I have planned.

All on the road, enjoy, watch out for all the storms, everywhere.!! Stay safe,
CArol :)

Just remember it can take 12 hours for the fridge to cool down to temp. May wish to start it early, before adding food.
