Tuesday in May

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday in May

Morning,

Eggs, sausage or French toast here this morning. Also a rambunctious puppy for your entertainment. It's cold here, so she's full of heck. Heading to the groomer's this morning, so that will cool her heels  She was over playing with her Shi-zu friend last night and they ran themselves silly. Needless to say, she was zzzzzzzzzzz for two hours after we got. Home

As for me, I'm cleaning house today. Earth shattering new eh! Working on trip stuff little at a time this week as am at the point where it's last minute stuff, put stuff in trailer later this week thing.

Have a nice day all.

Good Morning everyone,
I am almost done packing the rv. A few last minute things to put in,turn the fridge on tomorrow to cool it down ,put food in it Thursday night and done. Today I am putting on a new bike rack it. I was just not comfy how the one we had fit so I ordered a new one. This one should be a lot more strdy9 and easier to put bikes on.
Have a good day all

Sausage, mmmmm! It's cool here in the Palm of the Mitten, ;) so I'm thinking it will be a good day to work outdoors. I'll probably take out a couple of old, scraggly shrubs that have been bothering me.

Such fun to see everybody off on adventures!

One of the employees just can't get the hang of the security system - so I had to go unarm it again this morning. Going to try to get her a different code - but I can use hers, no problem. However, I don't want to get calls at 6:30 am just for that! Otherwise, I'll switch hours and do the opening myself ...

Velda, I'm a strong, strong believer in trying alternatives. One, I refuse to just take meds to cover up problems, etc. That's how my entire diet got changed a couple years ago and I've managed by triglycerides and cholesterol. I'm going to look into what you said. I have been told I have "mild asthma" - and it mainly only bothers me going uphill or on stairs, but really wish it didn't, especially on hikes - so will look into your method and see if it makes a difference with me. Thanks.

Nice that a couple sisters in MN got to meet. Will look forward to hearing about Barbie's decision!

Good Morning!

I am so excited for those of you about to hit the road! I just hope the crazy weather straightens out! O'Sharon and Carolb, glad you had a spontaneous trip! To those of you working on your yards, houses, etc: you wear me out!

I left Yosemite on Sunday - over Tioga Pass in a variety of weather which did not include sunshine. The Yosemite visit would not have been the same without the Slingshot. I rode several scenic routes outside the park which I probably would not have done with the truck and camper. Weather wasn't all that cooperative so took advantage of the dry, warmer days.

Some routine work on the truck yesterday morning. When I was hooking up to the trailer afterward, a nice delivery driver came over to guide me. At WalMart a couple wanted to talk Slingshot. They have a truck camper and eventually offered to hand the groceries to me in the camper - very nice because with the trailer on, it is a bit of a chore. Of course the chat took 30 minutes and I still had a 6 hour drive ahead of me, but they were a very nice couple. I spent the night in Ely, Nevada after driving Hwy 50, the Loneliest Road. My destination is Colorado National Monument tomorrow. Weather there is suppose to be dry!

Kathleen, I keep hoping to hear you have insurance approval! So frustrating for you. My granddaughter had her first infusion on Sunday.

Going to be a much shorter drive today with WalMart in Richfield, Utah as destination.

Have a great day and safe travels.

Morning ladies,

Not feeling to spiffy today, got up with a headache and just generally feeling sad and a little depressed today, not sure why exactly.

Still some more improvements to make in AG before I really get her out on the road. I asked my mechanic to add a trans cooler because I want to pull the horse trailer and possibly our boat. He hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Got results of Cody's bloodwork and she has a disease called Cushing's. She'll need medicine for the rest of her life, costs $75/mo. from my vets but I found it cheaper online and they will price match.

Still have some of those blueberry muffins for today so help yourself.

Good Morning,
Gosh, everyone is getting ready to go. If anyone comes near Southern Illinois let me know, would love to see you. I was driving home last week when an orange SS passed me. I was so excited and of course wanted a closer look but guess all the owners of SS drive like Anita :) it was zoomed out of sight before I could change lanes! Barbie I hope this is the camper for you, you have looked so long. Rita your little Breezie is such a cutie!! Kathy sorry you aren't feeling well. I'm surprised at how many dogs have Cushings now. Did your vet diagnose with just a blood test? I had a dog tested and I thought I remember it was quite a process so looked & I found this web site. Maybe it is outdated but wouldn't hurt to check. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?A=636&
It is such a beautiful cool day here I need to get outside and enjoy it.

On edit, I just heard back from my mechanic about the trans cooler, he can do it on Wednesday.

Thanks BJ, but it's my horse Cody not my dog who has the Cushing's disease. I have suspected it for a few years now. She always gets a heavy rough haircoat that never completely sheds out and has had problems with her feet. Those are just some of the symptoms. Yes my equine vet confirmed it with a blood test and after she's been on the medicine for about 2 months we will do another blood test to see if she is at the correct level. Thank goodness this second test won't be as expensive as the first one was.

Harold and I have already been to Lafayette and back. They remade his hearing aids so had to go pick them up. I can't run errands with Harold along but I have to bring the dog to the vet in an hour. He has to have his teeth cleaned. I don't really like the idea of them being put to sleep to get their teeth cleaned.

We had a storm blow through yesterday afternoon and got 1 and 1/2 inches of rain in an hour. That's how much was in the rain gauge but the wind was blowing so hard it was raining sideways. North Louisiana got so much rain that there was major flooding.

Everyone talking about trips makes me want to go again. I don't know if I can get away with 3 weekends in a row. I think my sister has to work this weekend so guess I will stay home.

I better go clean out the back seat or put the kennel in the car. Hank can find something to tear up.
