Chilly Damp Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Damp Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon May 11, 2015 7:22 am

Morning all,

Hope all you Mothers out there had a nice Mothers Day yesterday. Was a damp one here and same for today. I was half expecting to see some white flakes out there. Wouldn't surprise any of us. Wonder how Beth is doing in the snowbound campground. Liz, good thing you and Nan aren't at Ocracoke or you wouldn't need the ferry to get across, probably would have floated off

Not much going to happen here today. Trip to bank to pad the wallet and then a little shopping. Time to refill the fridge. Spent some time looking over my route yesterday, hauling some stuff up from basement for trailer, setting out some clothes etc. Just putting around with trip stuff.

Ava, if you feel like going more north, you can always detour over to Yelowstone and join me 8-) Anita, you heading out that way too? Tina leaving pretty soon as am I and also a friend of mine heading to CO. The pioneers are on the roll again, except this time our covered wagons have engines.

So, going to head out here and get busy. Hope you all have a nice day, those in the rain and storm areas, hope you have a reprieve and chance to dry out.

Good morning all! Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day yesterday. I had dinner with young son and family and then went over to visit with oldest son and family for awhile. So was a nice evening. Spent the earlier part of the day in the yard mowing and weed wacking. I managed to get most of the weed wacking done before I saw smoke coming from it so guess a new one is in my future! I've had it for quite awhile so it doesn't owe me anything! I'd get a gas powered one but they're so much heavier than the electric ones...unless they've changed since I last checked. Here I am talking about doing yardwork and Beth is dealing with inches of snow! Plus we are to have another hot, humid day before it gets cooler and more "normal". Whatever normal is anymore! But glad to hear everyone is safe from the crazy weather we've been having across the U.S.

I had to spend time on the phone again this morning with my pharmacy and provider trying to get my coverage straight with all concerned. Geez, they don't make it easy! This problem seems to happen every few months. :( Not sure why they can't get it right. So anyway, I'm off to the pharmacy and then later the vet and dog food store. Plus need to finish loading Lola. Since my trip to Hatteras is no more, I think I may just go somewhere more local for a few days. Still jello. Have a great day and be safe. (Donna just saw your post...I'm about 100+ miles from GC. East on 80. I'm not far from State College. Let me know and we can maybe meet up while you're in PA!!)

Good Afternoon just missed morning... coffee gone... I had a phenomenal sleep last night 7 hr and 5 min before at 9am Shadow woke me he wanted to to out and have some food... I do not remember when I last slept that long...
I did get to church yesterday and then came home... my son called as did my daughter in law... Margie came over in the evening with a beautiful begonia plant... I want to keep it inside so I can see it every day!

I have not talked about my neighbor Cindy as I felt it was not right but I do have good news... she got engaged on Friday... I pray she will be happy for many years to come...

My Noah warning radio went off last evening as we had storm warnings... no tornados or snow so thankful for that! Beth take care that snow looks bad... one good thing is it melts fast normally!

Have a good day everyone...
Kathleen or Kathy

Good Afternoon everyone,
Diet coke for me since I missed the coffee this morning. I finally got the rv washed. Boy that was a chore but at least she will be clean when we hit the road on the 22nd. I did not climb up on top and wash the roof. No one home but me and I did not want to be walking around up there and chance slipping and down I go. Next on the list of prep get the bike rack out and see if it fits the on the hitch on the rv and make sure we can get the bikes on it ok etc.

Kathy, sorry, just jumping in here. I live in a townhouse so no driveway for washing. I can drive around back next to my garage, but that can be a problem if someone else needs to get out of their garage and I'm in the way. So I don't do it often. Also with the water shortage in California, makes me feel guilty. Anyway, I use Wash/Wax All where I store my rig. You can get a mop that has 2 sides, one for wet and one for dry. Just spray it on, wipe it with the wet side and dry with the dry side. I can do my 25' rig in about 45 minutes. I buy it directly online from Aero Cosmetics. It was first used to clean airplanes. Amazon carries it, but last time I looked, it came as a kit with more than I wanted. So I got the gallon Wash/Wax All and the mop that comes with a nice handle that extends. After the initial purchase, I just get more Wash/Wax All when I need it. Rig looks great and I get lots of compliments.

Good Morning,

I had planned to be out riding, but a neighbor came to visit for a 1/2 hour and then the clouds rolled in. No rain predicted but..... I did ride some great roads yesterday.
Sounds as tho there were many appreciated moms yesterday.

Sue, I won't be headed for Yellowstone. When I leave Yosemite, I'll be heading toward my daughter's in Kansas via Colorado National Monument and Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP.

My granddaughter's insurance hasn't approved her infusions yet. :( Another student at school told her his approval took 3 weeks! Dang insurance companies - so no one is alone in their complaints.

Sorry to hear about changes of plans thanks to weather!

A multipurpose cleaner called Awesome I bought at the Dollar Store. I diluted it a bit more than the directions called for just to be safe. I bought a retractable pole and a very soft brush . I have a small pressure washer so I was able to spray and reach everything kind of easily.

BTW I am looking for something so when we are on the road that the kids can put their drinks in that will keep them stable on the table or couch . I really cannot find anything I think will work. I did find some kind of clip device that says it will fit to the table but I am not sure if it will open wide enough to clip on the table or big enough for anything other than a can or small glass. Do you ladies have any recommendations?

JRKERMIT, I too, have used that multipurpose cleaner "Awesome" ...it works wonders to remove the black marks and cleans great BUT I have found that it is somewhat hard on your wax job! Cuts through the wax, and takes away the shine. I quit using it.

Hmm not sure if mine has ever been waxed I know it has not since I have had it since last August. Do you use a fiberglass wax? It looks nice and clean now but it never was very shiny when we bought it:)

My rig came with instructions to NOT use most cleaners - in fact it says to use Dawn. I'd have to re-read it - and will later, but I remember specifically it mentioning Dawn being safe as a cleaner. My last rig hadn't been well taken care of so I used anything on it ... And when I paid to have this rig cleaned in AZ this winter, I let him use what he always does on rigs, but most cleaners will eat the wax or dull the shine or possibly cause damage, from what my book says. (Cleaners out today have so many chemicals in them, it doesn't surprise me.)
