Sadness

Postby judi » Tue May 05, 2015 9:47 am

With a broken heart and terrible sorrow I communicate that my beloved son, Joe, passed away suddenly a few days ago in San Diego.
Please keep our dear Joe in your thoughts and prayers, as we, along with his many loved ones try to make sense of the senseless tragedy.
A mass will be held for Joe 1pm this Saturday, May 9th, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 1300 East Valley Road in Santa Barbara. No reception.

Judi, I am so sorry to hear this, I can't imagine the pain of loosing a child, no matter their age. I pray that the prayers and thoughts of all of your forum friends will help ease some of the pain that you are dealing with. Some have experienced this painful situation and may have words that might help some, although what they could be, I can't imagine.

Keeping you and all of the family in my prayers, Take care and know you are in the hearts and thoughts of many,

Oh Judi, such horrible news....I wish there was something I could say or do to make it better, but there isn't. Wrapping you in a warm hug and words of peace.

Judi I'm so sorry. I know only too well how you, your family and Joe's friends feel at this time. I so wish I could make it better. Stay close to family and continue to celebrate his life. I've asked my son Joshua to meet Joe and show him around. ((((((HUGS and PRAYERS))))))

I am sitting here waiting for another of my children to arrive here in Santa Barbara. I have no idea what to do but I knew I could come to this forum for comfort, even from people I have never met in person. It helps to write about Joe. He was the youngest of my 7 children, and we are all very close. We are all getting through this together with each other's help. Joe was just getting ready to enter a PhD program to further his research in neurobiology. As of now, the probable cause of his death is a brain aneurysm. His research is focused on a fatal chromosomal neuro disease affecting infants. He worked for Biomarin, a biopharmaceutical company in San Diego. He graduated from Berkeley undergrad with honors. He was never married or had children, but had a serious girlfriend, preferring to concentrate on his research. His greatest love, apart from his family, was snowboarding. He was a spectacular person, with a sharp wit and amazing people skills for a scientist. He will be in my heart forever.

Sandi, I appreciate so much your message to your son Joshua. What a nice thought to have in my head.

They will have a lot to talk about Judi. Their personalities and interests sound so similar and Joshua was only 4 1/2 months away from graduating from Cal Berkeley.

Judi, I can't even begin to know the shock and sadness you are feeling now. Such devastating news! I will send prayers to you and your family as you deal with his crossing over and funeral.

Take care of yourself and reach out to those who can comfort you for as long as you need.
