These have been posted before, but perhaps you don't know about them. These are my favorite low cost camping places:

The following are 50% off with an America the Beautiful old age pass:

National forest campgrounds: http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/list/nflist.htm

Corps of Engineers campgrounds: http://www.recreation.gov/campgroundDir ... cyID=70902

National Park campgrounds: http://www.nps.gov/findapark/index.htm

Bureau of Land Management: http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/Recreation.html and
http://camping.about.com/cs/campgrounds/a/public05.htm

http://www.rv-camping.org/PublicLands.html

Other websites with info about free or reduced camping at city and county parks or other sites:

http://freecampsites.net

http://www.uscampgrounds.info

RV friendly Casino camping: http://www.casinocamper.com/rv-parking-locations

My favorite AP for finding these campgrounds is Allstays for RV.

One of the prettiest and cheapest campgrounds I have been in is Boulder Campground, along Lake Mead, near Las Vegas. Cost is $5 per night for no hookups, but the roadways and campsites are paved and in very good condition. Lake Mead is a bit low, but it is a very pretty place regardless.

It helps to be a senior because most federal and COE parks are half-price for anyone over 62 with a federal card.

I have made notes of all the info - thank you everyone! I will start going through them tomorrow, since I just returned from dinner and margaritas, with emphasis on the margaritas.......

Even with a slide, I am willing to park in a Walmart or as the dog show in Delkalb had us in a regular campus parking lot. I just choose where and how very carefully so that my slide is protected and over grass or facing a pole so that no one is going to try to pull up next to that side....
