Damp Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 27, 2015 7:03 am

Morning all,

Little damp and cool here this morning, 38. Will see what the day brings as far as working in my TT is concerned. Got a little cupboard project going. But first will be going to bank and then grocery shopping.

Liz and Nan are probably on the island by now. Am looking forward to hearing about their adventures. Such a wonderful trip they are on. JKermit also sounds cited as she looks forward to her upcoming adventure. And mine is only abot 4 weeks away. People on the move.

GingerK, congrats on the new wheels. Sometimes things pop up in our own backyards when we least expect it. Looking forward to hearing more about it.

Nothing in breakfast fixings here, maybe somebody else has something better. Going to wish you always a nice, safe and healthy day :)

Who remembered that a rainy weekend in late April could be so cold, windy and wet? I am not sure my friends and I ever warmed up on Saturday. Seldom are large metal fairground Expo buildings heated. I mean show groups are not hunting for heated buildings for April shows. :) And most of us know how much fun it is trying to keep coated dogs clean and out of the mud and tall wet grass as they try to find a spot to potty. But we did have fun and the girls did help others get points this weekend. I remember last summer when the girls when home with most the points. With other owner handlers (not the professionals so much  :o ) it never hurts too to share the joy, so folks will help you build entries at a future show. :) Daisy at least came away with one more Grand Champion point and one additional win over another Champion (her sister :) .)

Back to work on Thursday for the final stretch before heading west probably on Memorial Day with a rig full of happy camping dogs. If my body can hold it together, we can even get a couple of weekend dog shows in between now and departure date. I can always rest on the drive west....oh, about Kansas City should do it.

Good Moring
I am on my second cup of coffee trying to get motivated to do some yard work. Also on the agenda for today is to wash the rv.
Colliemom yes I am excited about our trip but also a little nervous. The first time out for a long trip I just want everything to go well and no major glitches happen. I have read a lot of info here on the boards and gotten some great advice from them I know things will probably be fine but that first road trip is always a but nervous for most I imagine.

BTW I also am in a group on Face book Women RVing or something like that are any of you in that group?
Have a good day all time for me to get motivated

Good morning! Another cloudy and cool day here today. So inside projects instead of outside! My groomer just called and I set up an appointment to get the boys their "summer" cut next week. Hope by then they won't need all the fur! Plus since I want to head south I know they would be miserable if I don't do it now! And I'm so over cleaning up black hair from my one dog! It's time!

I posted in General yesterday about staying in NP campgrounds when I head to Hatteras and as usual, some really good tips! Sure got the brain going! I think I'm now going to make this trip a reality! Kinda the quit talking about it and just do it! Kermit, like you, I'm nervous!

Tina, sounds like the pups had a good week end! Building up those points! Sue, won't be long and you'll be heading west! Time's flying!

I'm still puzzled as to why my generator won't run. Then I read the post about the battery cables....I had new batteries put in right after I picked Lola up from the garage. They put a new spark plug in and said it ran great so....anyway, the rv guy is coming next week end to go over her so I'll just puzzle over it until then! I just hope it's an easy fix!

And Kathy found her new rig so close to home! It amazes me how that happens sometimes! And Barbie finally got to get her kayak on the water! Take that, Winter!

Well, this is not getting those inside things done! Coffee is on! Travel safe.

Good Morning !!! Beautiful day here, sun makes everything look so pretty. But its cool, have fireplace on, which I love. I'm so glad to be enjoying spring, have missed it :)

Other then trying to get order here, not much news. I have to haul all this trash I've accumulated already off, but means getting a new permit to be able to put in our trash areas. Which is a pain, just hoping he will let me leave all of this today without it. If my friend is still there, he will, but ole grouch, he won't, hate to load it all up and then find I can't leave it, but no other way. Also must call vet for my Maggie, kind of hate to hear what all he might tell me about her, she has her good times and then the bad times come along. Think I'm procrastinating on these two items, but must do them this week.

Anyway, just wanted to wish you all a good day, so glad to hear about the RV Kathy found, so close, now waiting for pictures. Donna, I know the being able to do anything has to be done before 9 for me down there, you're a better or stronger person then I am. All the travel planning, so exciting, love reading about it all. Not to making my own plans yet, but they're coming up in awhile.

No breakfast offerings here, and coffee is even gone, but thinking of making another cup at least. My two cups are gone and I feel like I need at least one more.

Hope you all have a nice day, those of you out in the stormy areas, have had you in my prayers, some of that stuff looks so scary. Be looking for check ins when you can.

Gotta get movin'

I'm having pistachio ice-cream for breakfast. Bring your bowl!

Yesterday I stopped driving very early and had a nice relaxing afternoon and night at El Chorro Regional Park in San Luis Obispo. love this campground. Will get to Santa Barbara today and will stay for a few weeks. Looking forward to seeing some of my kids and my mother. I love Santa Barbara!

I hope the weather improves for those of you in the path of storms or in hot humid places. Happy travels for those on the road!

Sunny, but cool morning here. Just what I like! Got work to do and a load of laundry before I leave tomorrow to spend a couple of days near my aunt and uncle's house just north of here. They are starting to clean out their house, so I am taking a couple of prints and the drum set my parents bought him for his birthday when I was a baby. (My uncle was my dad's youngest brother who he and my mother took in when he was 9 and they were newly married after their father passed away in an accident. His mother had died four years earlier, leaving five children.) He is 13 years older than me and was married when I was only 9, but the drum set is something I remember from my childhood and I hate to see it go to junk or be sold. I am leaving it in Ohio with my son and hope one of his kids gets interested. In any case, someday with a glass top, the big drum would make a good coffee table!

Next stop after that will be in Tennessee for four days, then Kentucky for four days, and finally West Virginia for six days. Hopefully, by then it will be safe to go to Ohio--meaning no more snow and a little warmer!

So, today is Monday, which means I have to get the last of this week's assignments graded by midnight when a new set is submitted by students. Teaching certainly keeps me from getting bored. :)

Good morning gals! Using my Nook since my laptop is getting fixed. Finally got my kayak out on the water yesterday! I love it!
Another perfect day today with warmer temps and no wind, so will get back out there again this afternoon.

First I need to do some cleaning around here :(

Have a good day and stay safe from the bad weather down south!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

A line of storms came through here this morning. It got dark as night for a while. Harold had an appointment at 11:00 in Lafayette and I didn't know if we were going to be able to go or not. That line was moving fast and was East of us by the time we needed to leave. We saw a lot of tree damage on the way. It looks like the storms are all the way to Alabama and Florida now. There are still some storms Northwest but I don't know which way they are going. We live on a dead end, tree lined road so if a tree goes down across our road we can't get out.

Harold got his hearing aids that he ordered a few weeks ago. He is not going to get along with them. I'm sure it will just be a matter of time before he loses one or the cat has one.

Just got off the lake from a 2 1/2 hour kayak ride. Paddled the shoreline about halfway, then cut across the bay and paddled around two islands and headed back home. Just as I was sitting and relaxing out in front of the dock, i decided to take my sunvisor off, forgetting that i had put my sunglasses on top of my head. So off went the glasses into the lake! So now I need to order another pair of glasses.
Now i need a nap!

Ouch on losing the glasses, Barbie, but great that you are enjoying the kayak.

Time for me to head to bed, I'm exhausted, and trying to change my hours because this weekend I'll be getting up around 5:30 ... omg, did I just say (type) that?

Luckily, I got the sunglasses at Zenni Optical for $15 (prescription!) So not a lot of money to replace but hoping I get the new pair before i start golf next week.
