Sandi, it sounds as if you have spent years in the same professional world that I lived in for years... And 13 as a supervisor/director. :)

Jeez, Beth, I don't envy you on this one. I've been in your shoes but I was fortunate to be able to walk away. I've never had this with my ICs; they all want to work and do the job the way it should be done, I'm very lucky in that. I agree 100% with Sandi's recommendations. And I wouldn't have been as nice as you have been, the "Queen of Mean" would have made her appearance long before now. ;)

Ack! I'm having flashbacks of times I had to remove young architects from their positions! Sometimes that's the only way they learn. There are too many people looking for jobs to tolerate bad and unprofessional behavior. Beth, I feel badly that you have to go through this. It sounds like you have given these two 'children" chances to shape up but they are not. Off with their heads!

I won't go that far!

Sandi, I've already written notes and intend to type them up tonight. I'll make sure to include your last lines about any infractions on these subjects after this will be immediate dismissal.

That said, in some ways I want them to stay, in others I'm hoping they both (or at least one of them) quits tomorrow. This is exactly why I had to think long and hard about being a "boss" again. The good part is the store isn't open 24 hours like the motels/stores I owned or managed - so I know I'll get some time off. The bad thing is I'm older and don't want to do those hours or have those headaches again. Never expected this on week two. And, to be honest, I never had a problem quite like this one in all my years as owner/manager. This is where the problem probably comes of hiring people sight unseen.

And now I'm off to do laundry and while it's going on, work in the store and see if I can get some things accomplished today.

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement and suggestions. I needed somewhere to vent - and you are all wonderful about listening and throwing in your very welcome two cents.

Ladies, I found my MH. Actually 2 blocks from my house. :o Not kidding. '95 Gulfstream Conquest Limited Edition and she comes home tomorrow. I'm going to walk over and pick her up at 10 a.m. Will try to post pics when I get her home and figure out how to post. This is the nicest MH I've ever looked at for her age, much nicer than some of the newer ones I looked at. And when I gave them the deposit my gut felt good.

There's a reason those others weren't speaking to you - this one hadn't come your way yet. So happy for you!

That is just swell about the new rig. Congratulations! :D
Beth, it seems many of us here on this forum have extensive management experience. Keep asking and venting & good advice and support will follow.
