Mixed Bag Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Mixed Bag Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Apr 21, 2015 7:17 am

Morning from the chilly 45th,

Chilly, damp and a little mix of snow/rain to start my day here. That's okay, going to be a relaxing day. Little online ordering, vacation guide reading, list making etc. just puttering. 5 weeks to leave day.

Sarah, glad your severe weather is gone. How about coming up and doing my deck in blooms too  Tina, no issues with the Puperoni. Vet said it's okay. They use it for treats as well. Wondering where Carolb is and how trip is going. Also been wondering about Irmi and Steve and Lori and Ernie and how Lori is doing.

Guess I'll go do my dishes and strip bed, then throw load of was in washer. Miss Molly went off to bed for a nap. So will wish you all a nice day and be off :)

Good morning Sue and all.... rainy here again and hot again...if I had to stay here all summer
I don't know how I would do it...one load of laundry done and in dryer...a couple more to go
went to back doc yesterday...so far so good..still making progress...will do another follow up
when I get back...going to WM in a few to pick up scrip and a couple other things..after a mess
my finances have been in ...I am now going to work up a very stringent budget...one thing that is going to go is how much I spend on food...way to much...so that also might put me on some wt. loss... I buy too many goodies to comfort myself...have made a little progress on packing up and stowing some of my stuff for the summer...might change my mind and leave for the north mid May not June...who knows...well all for now...have a fun filled day & B safe,......donna ;)

Good Morning,
It is sunny and chilly here today feels great. I appreciate all these spring days, not looking forward to summer. Sue if I were you I would read this article about Pup-peroni treats and copy it and take it to your vet. Vets seem to be a lot like doctors they aren't into nutrition or possible offer products like this for the $$$ incentive. I've included the link and a couple of paragraphs about some of the ingredient's. I read all labels and never buy food for me or the dogs that have these types of ingredients. I especially included the one about Propylene Glycol, as it is know to aggravate kidney problems and as I recall that seems to be an issue for collies. The vet I go to has treats I wouldn't give my dog but...he cooks for his own dogs.

http://holistipet.blogspot.com/2011/04/ ... rning.html
7. Propylene Glycol: The Material Safety Data Sheet, which you may remember from chemistry class, gives this substance a health rating of 2, which means the substance is of moderate concern for human health. It has been shown to aggravate kidney problems, so if your dog's kidneys are already compromised, stay away from this ingredient completely. Did I mention that this is sometimes used as a substitute for ethlyene glycol as the active ingredient in antifreeze

14. BHA (used as a preservative): The BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole) MSDS states that it is possibly carcinogenic for humans and gives it a moderate rating of 2 for human health. This is based on the fact that it has been proven carcinogenic in experimental animals! The Environmental Working Group gives BHA a rating of 10. This is the highest level of concern in their database.

Hope you all have a good day. I'm going for a massage and after yesterdays yoga class will look forward to it for sure!

Good morning all! After a wild evening of weather it's sunny, cool and windy here! They are even talking about it on TWC! And we were under a tornado watch for several hours! Not something we get here very often but we got lots of rain and some hail here in my town. Altoona apparently got much more and that's not far from here. It certainly got dark way early because of it.

Sue, I love your sewer project. I would love to do something like that but so far can't figure out where something like that would fit on Lola. Maybe I'll show it to DS and see what he thinks. I do have a place for sewer hose storage but it won't fit my hose. The one that was there when I bought her was smaller and in questionable shape so I replaced it with a Rhino and it won't fit. Something to think about but well done, Sue! Donna, hope you get to head north soon!

I saw a Tioga C for sale along the road when I was heading out of town yesterday. Looks to be about 24', maybe bigger. Was tempted to stop just to see it! Thought about you gals looking for a new RV!

I have been remiss in welcoming new members! So let this be a big welcome and hope you all enjoy the forum! A wealth of knowledge and fun here!

Coffee is on, the chef is off today so can't offer much more ;) ! Gotta get ready for dreaded dentist appointment this morning so better get to it. Stay safe if you are on the road.

Good Morning Everyone, its break time here, morning started way before 6, so think its time. Working in kitchen area now, loved all my cabinets when we first moved in here, but this morning, kind of a pain cleaning them all out and washing them down. How do bugs get into closed cabinets??? Feeling a wee overwhelmed here, but things are going well, just maybe slowly, or I think so :D Haven't been on here for a few days, not sure what is happening with everyone, just read yesterday, but so overwhelmed in other areas, just marked all the other mornings read , with a hope that you all are well and no one is having serious issues of any kind.

We have sun today, it has rained every day and been overcast since I got here, so this is really really nice, I may get more done today than I have in last several days. My neighbors came over last night, to apologize for state of my yard, but they had breakdowns in mowers, and offered to help me get it back in some decent shape, which I thought was so nice of them. They sure have a busy time, their oldest boy is getting married in less then 2 weeks , and most of us know what a busy time that can be and they are a busy family anyway. So the visit last night was really nice, they just felt like they had neglected me, by not saying hello before this. We've waved so I didn't really think anything.

Donna, I do hope you get off and out of Fl for the summer or most of it. It is not a place to be during the summer. This morning it was 38 here, I have fireplace on and its beautiful outside and I'm loving this :D Even Maggie, is a different little dog, she was running around the house the other day, can't remember when she did that, she still does not hear me and she doesn't see well, but she always liked the neighbors and greeted them nicely last night. She does sleep a lot but she seems to know where she is.

Sue, I got your msg, thanks for telling me, yes, been looking for that to start again. I've been reading in evenings, which is really nice too, haven't been able to for some time. All in all, things are going well here, seems I've been missed by those who do drive by at times and see me home, and I'm clearing out stuff I never use and have someone to haul it off for me, he may even have a yard sale, which he is welcome to do   Just get it out of here !!!

Rambling, must get moving, can't set to long or some things may not get done today. Take care all, those on the roads, enjoy but stay safe and the rest of us, just need to do some fun thing in our day and enjoy the fact we have the day to do what we want.

Stay well and safe,
CArol :)

Good morning, all! I was up really, really late last night trying to get last of the things graded, but passed out around 2:00 am with four not done, so that is my next task right after this posting. Am required to get assignments graded within a week of due date and that was yesterday. Got to move faster in first part of week and set a better example, I guess.

It is finally a clear, sunny day here in Georgia, so I will be doing some laundry after lunch. Got lots building up and running out of clothes. I have the perfect campsite here because it is very long and facing the lake on both sides--sort of a peninsula. I headed in instead of backing in so I could take advantage of the view. Had to use both water hoses and my extension electrical cord to reach! Also, hardly any other campers around during the week, although it was full last weekend. Love the peace, quiet, and privacy. :D

I am trying to learn to do admin things on the forum to help Beth out, but it is not easy. That poor lady--there is more to do than I or probably many of your imagine, so we all need to thank her more often.

Gracious, I just sneezed so hard that William gave me a dirty look, got up, and moved to the other side of the room. Silly dog. Oh well, he'll have a good time later. We're going to look at Son #2's project building some planters. He's asked for my input, which I certainly appreciate, even though I secretly suspect he's just being kind. The William will get to play with Kaia, his German Shepherd. Fun for all!

good morning ladies :D
thought I'd pop in and say hi before I'm down for my nap. Can't say enough about my fun daytrip on Sunday. I went to a
little museum, Superstition Mtn Museum all the stuff ya wanted or didn't want to know about the Lost Dutchman Goldmine.
Very interesting and so many maps have shown up from back in the day no one knows which one is real. They also had
the old movie sets from Apacheland there, including the barn from The Rifleman and other westerns. Lot of tv history there.
Drove on up the road to Canyon Lake and took the riverboat ride. It was great, my camera quit right after I took the
picture of the river boat and then I proceeded to use my ipad for its camera. Well, of course those shots were too blurry
and not worth sharing. Gonna have to break down and buy a really good camera very soon!
On the way back I stopped at Goldfield Ghost town, not very ghosty but it sure was fun going through the shops, seeing
the "shootout" and then I went to the saloon to have dinner. Live music, good food and then I went home. A great day.
I will return and do it all again sometime, with a better camera!
23 school days left :D
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Afternoon... home from our trip to Mi... have not read posts yet... the shower for Joy and James was extra nice... Margie and I also got to see their apartment. it is real cute and walks out to a little lake that the apartment buildings are built around... they have a place to put a small table and a couple of chairs just outside their door...
My son is doing very good... he feels much stronger but still takes naps...
Our trip was good... I am worn out! lol... no word from the doctor concerning the procedure on my hips and spine yet...
Have a great day everyone...

Yuck! It's snowing and sleeting out and very windy! Only about 38 degrees today. Supposed to warm up with sun later this week tho.

My brother had to put one of his little poodles to sleep this weekend. She had diabetes (which he was giving her shots for) and then got pancreatitis and went down hill fast. He isn't known for showing much emotion or expression, but he is really down and heartbroken over his favorite dog! They were best buds and she was with him all the time.

On a split shift today, so back to work soon here.

Have a good rest of the day! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I had a dentist appointment in Lafayette this morning and I just got back. I wanted to try the new Panera Bread place in Lafayette but I couldn't get within a half a mile of the place for all the traffic. I was on a quest for a new rose bush because one of mine died. I tried 3 places in Abbeville and 4 places in Lafayette. I was looking for a yellow hybrid tea rose and finally found one at Lowe's. It's a little late in the season to be particular about the kind of rose I want. The one I bought is pretty sad looking but it was only $4.

I would have offered to help with the forum but I think that would be a big learning curve for me. Mitch had to help me even get my picture on.

Donna, I hope you get out of Florida too. I think you said one time that your dad didn't want air conditioning. I don't know how anyone can stand that heat. My dad put in a window unit after we were all gone from home but he never ran it.

I like to park facing a lake too. I would like to go to the lake before it gets too hot.

Judy's doing a great job, and I thank her, and Martha, it's not for everyone, and I know that!!! Thank you, Judy for the kind words. This forum is a labor of love for me - but help is always appreciated!

Martha, you deserve to get the kind of rose you want. Glad you found it.

Ava, love where you went and all you did. Definitely a fabulous day and I haven't done all of that - now I know someplace I need to head!

Barbie, that weather blew through here. Sunny today and warmer, but the dang wind makes it feel cold. Yesterday the wind was down - hoping it will be again tomorrow.

I'm laughing at The William. Peaches used to jump every time I sneezed. She no longer jumps but it wakes her up if she's sleeping and she always turns and gives me "the eye".

I'm tired. The two people I have hired think I'm being paranoid about getting everything done before we open a week from Friday and think we don't need to work so many hours - but there's just so much to do. And it will NOT all get done. I'm resigned to that, but I want everything done that possibly can be. I just told them that instead of working shorter days now, I promise if we do get ahead, I'll give them some later. But I thought they wanted, actually needed, the hours. We'll see tomorrow.
