Sunshine Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun Apr 19, 2015 6:45 am

Morning,

Sunshine and blue skies here this. Morning, but big weather changes tonight and next week. Rain and even some white stuff flying around. Need the rain, fire danger is very high.

Heading for mass in a bit, then home and off to Camping World. Surge Protector came in, so definitely will be leaving some green this time

Catherine, wonderful news on your job. Sounds like best of both worlds. Carolb, hope you are enjoying the Blue Ridge. O'Sharon, hear you about traveling east coast. Next on my list. Gettysburg and PA etc. plus some other areas needing more xploration. CArol slowly slugging away at her place. Got so much needing done, maybe we all ought to load upour cleaning stuff and have a cleaning GTG there

Got last of my travel guides yesterday, TripTik is done, for reference use, so this week will work in lists etc. Sewer carrier project is done, will get pictures posted. Gotta run. Have a nice day all.

Well poop! Had a lovely detailed post regarding my weekend and my computer decided to drop it, shut down and start adding updates on a whim! Suffice it to say my weekend was refreshing at least until the peacocks down the road began their morning songs at 4 a.m. and the robins, blackbirds and Canada geese added their 2 cents. Other than wildlife I had the place to myself.

DH is planning a family gtg with his family for supper tonight so he's outside cleaning up the garage and setting up tables and chairs. I
need to get the truck and camper cleaned out as I've brought home a few unecessary pine needles and some dirt. Better get to it as rain is predicted for this afternoon and I won't be able to pop up the camper until mid week then.

Take care,
Kathy

good morning :D
finishing up yesterdays laundry and then I'm going to take the time to get out of the house today and do a little Sunday drive.
I'm sure Maggie will enjoy it too, we've been cooped up way too long.
I haven't posted a whole lot lately, I've just been too busy dreaming of retirement. But I am trying to keep priorities in check, important things like my health and that includes the mental health as well. Lot of bs going on at work but I keep reminding myself it will all be over very soon. Only 5 weeks left of the school year for us. (25 work days) :D
Ya'll have a great day, be safe and be well.

Good Morning Sue and all who stop by later. It is raining and gloomy here today. I just had a cheese omelet with really good asparagus I bought at the farmers market yesterday. Asparagus is one of the dogs favorite treats, well except for Mitzi who seems to have an affinity for found items, like walnut shells the squirrels have dropped. Just worked on Andy's summer grooming and looks as though it will be one of many sessions, he and I both tire easily. I've mentioned before he does not cooperate with the process. I had a text yesterday from friends who alerted me to the fact that the rug at church was cleaned yesterday and was smelly so I'm staying home. They are usually really careful so can't imagine what they used, will have to check it out in time to cancel my Wednesday yoga class if needed. Rug cleaner is one of the things that chemically poisoned me at the university. That was in the mid-nineties though so hopefully they have improved it by now. I remember there were several infant deaths from it back then. Maybe that was part of the reason for the current popularity of wood floors.
I'm selling my Subaru and wanted to buy a Toyota Sienna but ACK they are so expensive, especially with all the 'stuff' I would like. I have looked at used but people seem to keep these vans until they have at least 100,000 miles on them and the ones who have fewer appear to me to be way overpriced. I'm still going to sell the Subaru if I can, even if I have to drive Elsie and share DH's car for awhile. It only has 5,700 miles so I'm optimistic.
Guess I will get my book well, my iPad actually, and curl up on the couch for awhile.Opps, I better feed the dogs first. They seem to eat better if I feed them later in the mornings but sometimes I get busy and it gets later than I realize.
Have a safe, fun day!

Pouring down rain all day here, Sue, so no sun in sight. But this is fine as I am NOT going outside today! I have a few dozen mosquitos or other bites and was up most of the night with them. Even though it was three days ago, I think I got them on my last morning in Florida because I started to notice the itching on Thursday as I was driving. On Friday, it got worse, and since I had a few on the backs of my legs up high, I kept thinking it was wrinkles in the cover of my booster cushion or my shorts or something, until I reached back there and felt lumps. I did stop on my way into this campground to get some Benadryl cream and I have a large stockpile of Benadryl pills.

I had just been using the cream, but yesterday found out I could take two OTC Benadryl tablets every four hours, so started that yesterday. They have not just been itching, but actually hurting! And one on my ankle has developed a big bruise around it, which I read online was a symptom of a worse allergic reaction. And what is really funny is that until a few months ago, I have always been immune to mosquito bites. To make things worse, last night I grabbed the tube of the wrong cream and ended up putting Aspercreme on the bites, which I think irritated them more. Dumb. So at about 2:00 am I was up washing it off and putting on the Benadryl. They are a little less itchy and not so painful this morning. It is cooler here in northeastern Georgia so I am hoping not as many mosquitos as it is still early spring here near the mountains, but I am not taking any chances. Also got out my Off spray, which I should have used in Florida, and am going to put it on whenever I go out tomorrow.

I have a gorgeous campsite at Bald Ridge COE campground at Lake Lanier, with a great view of the lake, and I have lots of work to keep me busy. Changed my bed this morning and will do laundry tomorrow. Nice to relax after two hard days of driving to get here.

Judy read the directions on the Benadryl cream it used to say DO NOT use if you are taking Benadryl tablets.

Thanks. I missed that. My itching is less, so I will cut down on one or the other.

Cold and rainy here today too. It is nice, tho, to see a hint of green on the trees now as the buds pop open!
Nothing new here. Hope you are having a good day in spite of the weather!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Well, Good Morning quite late! Think it’s been a couple of weeks since I have blessed you with my company! And during that time not a heck of a lot new has happened! We finally received some much needed rain yesterday, not enough to break the drought and lift the burn bans but still very very welcome. Just the smell of the rain was wonderful!

Monday I took my sister for her cataract surgery. What a change from years ago when patients had to lie in a hospital bed with sand bags around their head to prohibit any movement! She is was there at 7:30 and out before 10….and the doctor was running behind! Then we went shopping and out to lunch!

Bronc started walking….actually he more or less skipped walking and started running! I’m going to need to get some track shoes to keep up with him!

Think of all of you daily.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Long past morning here. No sunshine - have had two thunderstorms already, one of those severe with 60 mph wind, hail. Not raining now but there is another severe thunderstorm forecast for later tonight. Everything around here is so soggy but it sure is green.
Been cooking off and on all day and have eaten too much and moved too little.
Judy: be careful of those bites. I had to go to hospital while in FL as two developed a nasty bacterial infection plus I had an allergic reaction to the bites. Think mine were fire ants as both grew large blisters and took almost three weeks to heal.

I did the fire ant thing in Texas when I sat down on a log on the beach--Lesson Learned: Never sit on a log in Texas.

Then there was the gnats or no-see-ums or something that swarmed me while I was dumping my tanks in Mississippi. Ended up with 25 bites on my left leg and 15 on my right. (I actually counted them.) Looked like a had a weird case of measles on my legs for a few weeks.

And not to forget the fly bites in 2012 in Michigan that took three months to heal and left scars I have still.

Isn't travel fun?

I sympathize Judy. Every time we go to Oklahoma to SIl's , I get chigger bites on feet and legs in spite of putting on repellent. SIL had her brother ( aka my Husband) seem to think its funny and neither of them get them. It's painful and itchy for a week or more. All you can do is try to avoid bites.
