I have turned everything over to my insurance company, my rates are not going up, they have stated I am not at fault, and driving records are not affected by this kind of thing. My insurance company cannot make the man change his story. I can make threats, write letters, etc but it's not going to change anything. I will not lie and say I have a video. The gate is supposed to stay open for 90 seconds and it did not. The owner said I took too long to go through the gate, but I did not sit there staring at it for even one minute. I drove directly through.

I spent 5 days being angry about this and I don't want to spend more time or mental energy on it. I'm done. Would I like to get my 500 dollars back? Sure! But is it worth dwelling on it and being pissed off? Not so much.

Judi, I'm so sorry this has happened to you and I completely understand your decision to choose peace of mind over any stress that might be had by continuing the fight. I guess I'm just the opposite, however. When someone wrongs me and apparently has the mistaken idea that I'll just go away and forget it, they will find out soon enough that they've tangled with the wrong person. For me, deciding to not try and get a fair resolution would gnaw on me forever knowing that someone had stolen from me (like your deductible). So even though I think you should go after this guy, if it makes you feel better to go the route you've chosen, then I support you.

Judi, I was pleased to hear that your insurance company came thru with flying colors because I have the same company but have not had any claims.............yet. Hope not to have to use them but nice hearing a good report!!! Sorry about your RV but sounds like a good fix and lookee now you are getting a massage ha ha

I am not sure what I would do in your situation but wow what a disappointment to you finding out the owners are so decietful so sorry. But now you will have peace of mind and can move on.
