morning all;

Bit of a better day here today, looking forward to my solo trip this weekend. I am very happy with my own company. Heard showers coming in for Sunday so might just cut it a bit short and come home Saturday night. Thinking about taking Buddy my dog with me but he isn't the best traveler. I usually have Willy, Carrie's dog and he's our good camping dog and protector but he's going on an overnight to my son's house to play with Sadie my son's dog for the weekend while Carrie is out of town too.

Putting some ducks and sauerkraut and potatoes in the crockpot for dinner tonight. I had to call DH and ask him what time he's coming home as he is supposed to be waiting for a customer to come after hours. Don't want to put supper on too early!

Trying to put negative thoughts away and focus on the good people in my life, all the ones who came to support me and my DH and are still there helping me out in so many ways. I am blessed to have such good friends in my life and many of them are from here. Thank you all for your caring.

Have a nice day everyone, stay safe,
Kathy
Any day spent in the company of my animals is a good day.

Good morning, I'm working on Andy and Toby's spring haircuts. Toby is finished except for his two back feet. We both have short attention spans so it takes a few days. Poor little Andy looked so scraggly this morning I started with him instead of finishing Toby. Andy is NOT good on the table, he buries his head like an Ostrich and it is a real struggle to work with him. It takes several sessions for him!
Kathy glad to hear you are getting away for a couple of days. I had to laugh that your camping buddy was already booked for the weekend! Sending a big hug that you will continue to heal. Sue I hope Molly does well with the surgery today, if they let her come home today be sure they give you pain pills in case she needs them. Mitzi was in terrible pain and I couldn't get the vet to give her anything until late the next afternoon, I was furious!
I need to go shopping for a new electric cook top. I started this project back in the winter and abandoned it when DH wanted the newer type flat surface and I wanted the old coil type. I've disliked the gas stove top in this house since day one. I may have to regroup though as not many companies make the coil style anymore and the ones that are made appear to not be made very well as there are lots of bad reviews.
Our yard is so pretty and smells so good from all the lilacs, plus we have at least 10 Dogwoods blooming along with a Redbud. The Azaleas are starting to bloom and the bushes are all along the North side of the house.
Hope everyone has something fun planned for their day. Safe journeys to all on the road.

Oh I'm surprised its still morning, but Good Morning everyone !!! I am back in NC, what a mess yard is and house, but have call into maintenance helper and also plumber for broken water pipe. Also have tv turned back on, gotta have my tv

Trip yesterday was great, felt so good to be on the road. I had been wondering what route to take back here, have covered most I thought, well, as soon as my gal discovered I was not going to go on interstates, she brought me a beautiful way, Little back roads I had never been on. last 50 miles of course, were through the mts and route I have taken so many times, but its been several years and had forgotten how steep and twisty they were, but hardly any traffic, so no problem, just enjoyed even though by then I was getting to be a wee tired :D almost 400 miles and I had told myself I would never do that much again, liar, liar, just couldn't quit, besides CG's I had picked out GPS routed me different :D It was a wonderful day. I chose not to come in house, just fixed some tea and Maggie and I, had our evening meal and conked out, woke way to early by doing that, but was raining gently and was nice having coffee and looking out. Took my time this morning, but then had to come in, make all these calls and listen to all the junk on my answering machine.

Don't even know where to start in here, run the vacuum and pick up all these wasp, that I think are dead, did find one with some wiggle still in him, he is no more ;) that might be a good start or take the broom and get rid of all the cobwebs, before I walk into any more of them  Before doing any of these chores though, decided to see if my internet was still working, and seems it is.

Ginger, so sorry, you are having such a rough time, it does get better and fixed in time. Sue, you're always doing something, waiting for news on this new project, Kathleen, hope you have a great visit and trip. Anita, had a birthday, I didn't forget was just on the road having a great day myself, sorry, so selfish here but know you had a really good day, with your new toy. Don't wear it out, before I see you and get my ride :D

Must get moving here and do something !!!

Have a great day, Stay safe, wherever or whatever you're doing,

CArol :)

CArol, I would hate to be away from home as long as you have been and have to face what I would find. I usually leave a basket on the sofa for Harold to put the mail in when I'm gone. Yesterday I started looking for the mail and it was all over. I found 2 delinquent notices from the electric company. I started looking for the march bills and couldn't find them. Couldn't get into the bank web site to see if there was a check that cleared. I finally found the unpaid bills behind a chair where the cats had knocked some papers down. I paid the house bill on line and they can turn the rest off if they want to. We get 6 bills because of the farm but most of them are only about $8. I will go by and drop off a check when I go to town.

I have to bring my motorhome to the shop this afternoon. I have 4 small problems and I couldn't get it in before I went to Texas. I need to finish cleaning and unloading but am still messing around. I'm still washing clothes, towels and sheets.

I sure hope we don't get any more rain but I'm afraid more is on the way. We are never going to get my son's trailer moved.

I've been trying to watch the little crabs that live in holes behind my campsite. When I walk back there, they pop back in and at first I thought they were spiders. Then it occurred to me to look out of my rear window, and that works much better because they do not feel the vibration from my feet or see me. I was able to get a few pictures, but really need to get out and clean my windows! Too many dirt spots for a good view. Will do that later today.

Since I got my income tax finished and mailed away yesterday, today is going to be a work day since the first papers of the semester are waiting for me to grade them. Also, I have been collecting sand and have some very nice little bottles to put it in, but I decided I had better bake it to kill off any organisms and dry it out so it does not mold. Tried one sample yesterday, and it worked well. I was afraid it would smell up my microwave and RV, but it did not. I have tried to collect very clean samples with no plant matter or such in them. I bought 24 matching little bottles that are about 4" high and 2" in diameter, with a top that clamps down like a canning jar. I will label them with masking tape for now, and seal them inside saran and zip lock bags and then put them in storage. Someday, I will put better labels on them and make a wall display in my eventual sticks and bricks house.

Also, got a PM from a newcomer who is going to rent a cabin and come to the Michigan GTG!! Yea!

Kathleen, I am so sorry your insurance is being so difficult! Why do they think we have it?!? Excited for you and your trip!

CArol, I'd come help clean if I were on that side of the country! Glad you are safely there. Martha, weather can sure mess with plans!

Kathy, hoping for a peaceful weekend for you! Sue, today is probably harder for you than Molly!

I am so enjoying my own schedule! I do a few chores and then I read a book and then repeat :) Weather is quite pleasant.

Many of you have commented about fun with my Slingshot. I must tell you that it comes with drawbacks. Two people have had wheels break and another found cracks in his. Polaris has the first two wheels and are not releasing any information after a month. I did ride mine on the freeway while my daughter was down here, but from now on it will be slower roads. I do check the wheels every day. I have 2100 miles on it. BJ, I would so love to ride Hwy 1 on the coast, but I think that will have to wait because I have had all the crowds I want for awhile.

Have a good day everyone and safe travels. Carolb, stay out of trouble!!
