Smallest Motorhome?

I haven't really been interested in a motorhome in the past because they are so dang big. However, I am sick today, can't currently travel anyway due to ill and elderly dog, so the mind wanders. . .

I have run across a (Class B?) motorhome that is only 22 ft. I somehow didn't realize that they made them so small. This might be of interest (the only real annoyance of my van is that I can't stand up in it). Can anyone recommend a brand (brand name?) of a motorhome of this size? No slides? The one I saw online had a rear entrance, which looks kind of cool

There are several Class C's in the 22-24 foot range and even a few about 18-20. My last, which I traveled in for 9 years was 22 1/2. I loved it.

My 2005 Leisure Travel van is a class B RV. Much like the one Melissa showed. It is 22 ft and easy to drive, great fuel economy And has full rv features with wet bath, two burner stove, fridge, microwave, sofa in rear becomes king size bed and often we leave it as bed as we travel. We have a solar panel and two house batteries. Furnace can be used with batteries and propane. AC needs hookups.

My 07 Gulf Stream is 22'. One of the reasons I gave up my Road Trek was to have more standing room. When I looked at the GS I was afraid to take it for a test drive but figured it was now or never! Once I got behind the wheel I was so surprised at how comfortable I was! Can I take it or park it in the same spots as the RT? No, but it is still small enough to get me into most parking lots without a lot of problem. I love having a full bathroom and despite saying I probably wouldn't use the shower over the campground's showers I do use it! Gotta eat those words! I could stand up in the RT but always felt like I needed to duck all the time. Gas mileage for me is about the same. My RT didn't get that good of mileage imo. Know of others that get much better. I don't have a "real" bed but pull out couches which is fine with me! Heck, the dogs take up most of that space anyway! I could be happy just sleeping on the couch when it's not a bed but they demand their bed space! They are out there, all sizes and prices!

I'm 5'6" and hubby is just over that and our Mercedes Sprinter based LT is plenty tall for us. I can reach the ceiling with my hand but it is a reach. We have dry camped (boon docked) and both took Navy showers ( appropriate since we are both retired Navy, LOL) in our wet bath, though not at the same time.
Around town I get 16 to 18 mpg of diesel and on road usually average 22 or better, and in 2010, driving up Hwy 50 over the Sierras and down south of Carson City, I had filled in Sacramento, then filled just south of Carson and did my calculation 3 times because I could not believe my eyes when I calculated and got 28 mpg!! The newer Sprinters have both bigger engine and carry more weight so don't get as good economy but still pretty good from what I hear.
I love my LT and will be keeping it I think another 10 years ( bought it new in 2005).

Check out www.vantasticvans.com they're in Albuquerque, NM. That's where I bought my Roadtrek which I really love - its 19' and has everything I need. I bought an older 1999 one with 100,??? miles on it but I was only the second owner and all the maintenance papers came with it. The Sprinter diesels are great EXCEPT they're really expensive. I specifically got gas because gas is cheaper and at my age I don't need my rig to last 20 years. They were askingn $25,000 for mine on line - I called and told the salesman I only had $18,000 and that had to include the $1,000 delivery. I was very happy with my dealings with VantasticVans and would do so again.

I have a LTV Free SPirit SS - 23' and a few inches I forget how many. I have a bike rack on the back so I call it 25 when I'm asked at campgrounds. I can park just about anywhere, and I get 24 MPG on the highway. However, traveling in AZ on roads where the speed limit is 75, when I went 75 I could see the fuel gauge drop precipitously. Best MPG is 60 - 65 mph so that's how fast I drive. I love my little RV!

I have a Forest a River Lexington. It is 21 ft. Full bath, galley, dinette and sofa. No dedicated bed though. There is storage and a TV over the cab. It has all the amenities of a larger RV. I have only taken a few trips in her (named Audrey after my adventuresome mother). I have enjoyed her very much. It is a 2004 with only 3400 miles on it! It feels roomy to me. I travel with my little dog and sometimes my BFF. I am currently having solar panels installed to conserve on battery power. My biggest adventure starts in May. I will be spending 2 weeks at Silverlake campground in the Sierra's

I have a 20' Pleasure Way, and I also feel like I need to duck all the time. You have to be really small to get into the bathroom and shut the door, I don't think a tall person could sit on the toilet stool and then be able to stand up. I get 12- 14MPG. If you get a small class C or a B+ you will find they are quite a bit less expensive, the smaller you buy the more $$$ they cost. I wasn't as lucky as Karen was with her older Roadtrek (the Pleasure Way and Roadtrek are very similar). Mine is a 03 model but the engine is a '02 Dodge Ram 3500 and I've had multiple problems which came as a surprise as it only had 58,000 miles and looked brand new inside and out when I bought it. I am also looking for a smaller motorhome. I am considering Chinooks, Leisure Travel, Pleasure Way(expensive), and there are others. I was told by Vantastic Vans when I spoke to them, to stay away from Winnebago Rialtas and Pleasure Way Lexor as they have a lot of problems. In my research, I think he is probably correct. '

I have a 23' Coach House and it's one of the more expensive motorhomes when it's new. Mine is a 2002 that I have had since 2006. I love it. The height is good for me and my 6' son seems to get around in it ok. He doesn't like to use the shower but I always use it. Mine has the bathroom in the back and 2 electric sofas mid coach that make beds. They have several other floor plans. They are made in Florida so you don't see many of them. I can park mine anywhere you can park a big pickup truck.

I have 2 friends that are full timing in 25' Phoenix Cruisers.

I had the Winnebago model before the Rialta and it was a lemon. The Rialtas changed to a Volkswagen engine. I don't know anyone that had one of those. Mine had a different engine and it was hard to find anyone to work on them.
