Easter Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Easter Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Apr 06, 2015 6:26 am

Good Morning all,

Sounds like everyone had a nice Easter yesterday. I know I enjoyed the day here between a beautiful mass in the morning and the beautiful sunny day. But woke up to a couple inches of wet snow this morning. Whole week is to be messy with snow, rain, mix. But warming up as the week goes on.

Sarah is enjoying time with Wendy and Carolb and looking at rigs again. Barb, you did the right hing in tearing up that check. Hope you get some time to yourself this week. Cheryl, so much fun watching Tina's puppers in action. Liz, Nan and CArol having a nice trip through GA.

I'll probably work on fining tuning mine today. Made reservations for Rock Canyon RV park near Livingston, so will be enjoying a couple of days on the Yellowstone River before moving on down to West Yellowstone.

Time to move along here. Bit of housework to do this morning, load of wash to fold etc. You all have a nice day out there.

Morning! Well, I should be embarrassed but I’m not! We came home from my mom’s yesterday about 6:00 and decided to lay down for a little bit before the movie I wanted to watch at 8. I thought I had set the alarm on my cell phone…apparently I did but didn’t turn it to ”on” and I woke up at midnight. Went to the bathroom, put my pajamas on and went back to bed until 6:30 this morning! I haven’t slept that long or that well for ages! I took the day off because I have to start using up some of my annual leave before I retire. I was off Friday too….I haven’t had a four day weekend in in quite a while and I’m enjoying it! Going to go and have coffee with the ladies in a little bit…..catch up on the local gossip.

From reading post it looks like the migration to the north has started! Wishing everyone safe travels.

Peaches and I stood on the corner in Winslow, Arizona yesterday. Extreme wind warning today and tomorrow. If I'd known is be up at 6 this morning, I would have been hooked up and prepared. I will prepare tonight and the plan is to head out tomorrow at 6 and hopefully get to Albuquerque before the winds pick up too much.

Fun day checking out Winslow. Only other tourists there and one restaurant open. Had the place to ourselves. One of the ladies I hired to workamp with me this summer is here also, so she came with us to town. Nice to meet someone I advance. She's planning to hang out at least another day here hoping for less wind. I warned her that may not happen. But I do need to get there ahead of her and I have high hopes of having dinner Friday night with a cousin and his wife in Colorado.

I can see a nap in my future tomorrow lol.

Just got back from yoga and having lunch with a tiny glass of wine. When I got home I went in the kitchen and Toby came in with something pink hanging from his ear. I pulled it off and it was a barely chewed piece of Cinnamon Trident gum!! It still had the wrapper on so I could tell what it was. I chew that brand but I am extremely careful and keep it in an inside pocket of my purse. I can't imagine where he got it unless it was tracked it inside. I know that sugarless gum is pretty toxic to dogs but I think I got it before he ingested much. It's always something!

I'm typing this in my email and then will copy and paste to the forum. I had a long post yesterday and looked up and it had erased itself. It wasn't one of those where I could do the backward or forward thing and find it , the message page was just suddenly cleared of all I had typed. Strange.

I have another tick bite this week, auggh too many, too soon in the year. I think just walking outside they fall from the trees. Thankfully I am so sensitive to them I get a sore spot and get them off pretty fast. There are herds of deer that roam the neighborhood all winter so no wonder there are so many. I can't understand why they won't thin the herds before they all die of wasting disease. I wish they would open a longer hunting season, many of the places that process them would do some for free and donate the meat to local shelters. There are so many hungry people especially in this area, the food pantries can't keep up with the need. Oh well, off my soap box.
It's cooler and damp out today so I may give into a nap. I was so ambitious yesterday I made a meatloaf and have it ready to cook for dinner. We had lamb stew yesterday and it was soooo good, it's hard to get good lamb or any lamb here.

Carolb remember I'm here if you head toward Kathleen's!! I hope the wind stops so you can get on the road Beth.

G'evening! Well, I left the Alabamans :( Thanks Wendy & Sarah for a grand time! Southern hospitality is alive & well within our forum family, between them & the cajuns LOL! Drove all day, & sorry to say I'm already pretty far east, so Kathleen & BJ, I'll be seeing you another time ;) Am headed toward OSharon's though, expect to be there later tmrw, or mid morning on Wed....then to the wedding on Sat, may even make it for Fri night events...

Sounds like all are doing well. Beth, how was McDowell Mtn Park? I'm jealous you got to spend time with my "honey"--Ava/Alice (that's a little "inside" joke between Ava & me hahaha) Anyone else traveling? Catherine, will pray for intervention--I know you'll just fall to pieces if your baby marries & MOVES to PARIS!!!!! ;) Mitzi definitely looks like a totally different dog!

Time for some dinner & off to bed. Hope y'all had a great & safe day!

Good Evening from California!

Two days of travel that didn't go at all as planned! Ended up driving 430 miles first day in the northern suburbs of Los Angeles. Casino I chose wasn't really RV friendly. It was still early so kept going. Found a nice truck stop at Avenal.

Today I called a Passport America park and left a message. Planned to just pull in anyway but road closure and detours so forget about it. Called Alameda County fairgrounds where my reservation starts tomorrow night. Got voice mail but message said pull thrus available - NOT! Very nice people and one site left - a back in. However, I am pulled in forward with trailer still on the back and electrical cord reached - thank goodness as it is chilly here! I'll move to my pull thru site tomorrow. Oh, and more city type freeway traffic on more beat up freeway roads.

Have arrived safely, in one piece so all is well!! :) I just don't do this 'seat of the pants' thing as well as some of you - particularly Carolb!

My daughter and grandson don't arrive until early Wednesday from Seattle. Sandi and I are in touch so may see her tomorrow!
