Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Mar 31, 2015 8:37 am

Well, guess I had better make some coffee for the sleepy heads when you awake. Looks like a busy morning out there since no posts as yet. I too have been busy, getting ready to go to special church service today. All dressed and ready, just waiting for time to leave in about 45 minutes.

Otherwise not much going to happen around here today. Probably take Miss Molly for a walk and enjoy the nice sunshine. This week is definitely going to be spring like. Might even give me a chance to get into my TT again and also it's storage compartments. Not taking the cover off just yet, but will eventually. Keeps it nice and clean.

Have been looking over travel information for SD and finding a lot out there. Way more than I can do in this trip of course, but some of the campgrounds on the way out and back look very inviting. Anybody been into the Louis and Clark Recreation area for camping. Pat, I"m sure you probably know about it. Thinking very seriously of stopping there on way home. No schedule to meet, so have all kinds of time. Starting to pick up a few things here and there as I see them on sale in the stores to take along. then won't have to do a major shopping episode all at once before I leave, other than the groceries part of it. Memorial Day weekend is going to be upon us before we know it.

Miss Molly is sitting on my deck in the sunshine, fascinated by the sights and sounds of spring around here, especially the birds. Keeps her occupied.

Sok I"m going off to explore other things on here before I leave. Want to wish you all a nice day :)

Morning Sue and others that follow.

Not really a morning person but we have a friend Bev, who will be a guest in the camper tonight and the GB, Chezza is all excited. She woke me up the 1st time at 7am. Bev is a camper friend who will be using the Chezza's room tonight, so she woke me up early so she can clean up her room in preparation for Bev's and Coopers (Bev's little dog) who Chezza just adores. Poor Cooper is up in his years and can only handle just so much of Chezza's loving.

Well, I have coffee, bagels, and some leftover cheese burgers I'm going to warm up with some eggs (poor persons steak and eggs) Phoenix has ham and beans in the crockpot that have been smelling yummy all night. They are always better is slow cooked over night. Some cornbread and I'm looking forward to dinner. :D

Have a great day!

Good morning. Well, Sue, looks like you were right! Winter weather is hitting us again, doesn't look like to much at this point for us but north of us, much more of the white stuff. But more springlike Wed and Thurs! Hope it warms up a bit tomorrow since I'm having the door put in and I don't want to heat the outside too! I upgraded my phone yesterday at Best Buy so I spent part of last night syncing my new phone and playing with it. I seemed to have lost my purchased ringtones and after a search of the internet I found a couple of solutions to the problem. I'm still not sure what I did but a reboot seemed to work, main thing is that I have them in my new phone now! Now I just hope they stay as that seems to be a problem with the operating system. What do I know?!! I bookmarked the solution page just in case! Sounds like Martha and Carolb are having a good time. Hope your baking turns out to be a success today! Wow, Beth, your time has gone so quickly. They were lucky to have you! Went to the chiropractor again yesterday, my lower back has been giving me fits the last several days. Not the usual area of pain so was surprised by it all. She gave me some exercises to do....all on the floor. The boys seem to think I'm laying on the floor to play with them. Ever tried counting and breathing right when 2 big dogs are trying to lick and jumping around you? Silly boys! Needless to say, I lost count! Well, time to get another cup of coffee and decide what's on the agenda for today. Hope everyone has a good day.

Man, you guys wake up early! Send over some coffee - I'm all out!
Has anyone driven from Montrose, CO to Durango, through really beautiful scenery? Yesterday's drive was incredible! I also went to Black Canyon National Park and it was amazing. Today I'm heading for Mesa Verde, and then up to Telluride. There is so much to see!
I'll try to send some sunshine to those still in the grip of winter.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

I wanted to make that drive, Judi, but was talked out of it by my cousin who also full-times. He said it was too steep and curvy for my Class C. How was it for you?

Woke up this morning to my favorite UK Antiques Roadshow and am enjoying it now on the Ovation channel. This afternoon I will tackle my toilet. I have watched the online video, have all the seals, and have read the directions on the seals package. Does not look hard, but I am still a little nervous about it.

In the meantime, I can watch boats go into and out of the locks since I am back at Ortona. And there are actually walk-in spots available this week, which is amazing since these spots are so hard to get. I think some of the snowbirds have headed back north. I am still not due to head north for about three weeks, and it might be longer since my aunt and uncle are delayed getting here, which might mean changing some of my schedule. In any case, no matter, because I have lots of time to get to Ohio and Michigan.

Another pleasant day in Florida--not too hot or cold.

It's my last day of work here at Chiricahua! Am going to do at least a couple loads of laundry - all my blankets, my throw rug, my bedding, today. In the morning I'll have to wash the uniforms I need to return. Hopefully no one else is doing laundry today! At least not in about a 1/2 hour!

Last night I splurged and booked one of the last available sites at McDowell Mountain Regional Park by Fountain Hills for Fri and Sat. I was really surprised they had anything available. I'm guessing they have lost some business due to the already really hot weather. I decided to splurge for two reasons - because it's still supposed to be hot and they have electric, and because I really do like this park so much. It'll be further for me to drive to visit my friends Friday - but what's a longer drive in Friday afternoon city rush hour traffic LOL - Will try to head out early enough that hopefully it won't be too bad.

I also emailed a city in NE last night to confirm their city park is open to rver's year round - already have a reply and it is and she says it's first come/first serve but she's never seen "all 3" electric hookups in use. OK, so it's a small town ... and I'm only interested in the electric if the temps fall again - like they were heading south in the fall. Needed it. Love these little city parks.

Judi, I've taken that drive a few times. I have a friend who lives in Durango. I remember going to Durango in 1971 and then visiting it in 2005, my first year on the road, and the year they moved to Durango - visited them again a couple years later. Are you going to Silverton - by car or railroad? Nice drive also, and interesting.

Off to strip my bed, etc and hopefully get the laundry going.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning All, Judi I've done that drive also. Loved it. Beth, hope you get all your chores done today! Where is the report on the BEIGNETS?

My schedule is all off today as Casey had me up and out at 1 AM for a bout of diarrhea?!?!?! As she is a gluten and eats whatever she can find "on the street" I have no idea what caused it.

Going to be another beautiful day here. (so, what else is new) Will probably get some reading in. Right now I'm reading "Killing Lincoln". Am I the only one that thinks those "killing" books are not well written?

Have a good day all, lyn

Several times...but always on a motorcycle. Check out the hot springs one mile south of Ridgeway. Your rv will fit there and you can float in the hot water all night if you want to. The stars are incredible there! One of my fave places ever!

Judi and Judy - We took my 35' Class A through all those mountains - Durango, Montrose, Silverton, Ouray, etc. etc. Gorgeous scenery and little towns. Of course, my friend Bill was driving the MH so I got to take pictures and enjoy the beautiful sights!!

Carolb and I just got back from touring Jungle Gardens and Avery Island, the home of Tabasco. We got to see a couple of mid size Alligators and 2 little ones. The last time I was there which was probably 8 years ago, there were many more Alligators. I have an idea that they relocate the larger ones because people will get too close to them even though there are signs to leave them alone. The Azaleas and Camellias are almost through blooming but the Snowy Egrets are nesting so we got to see that. The weather is so nice, sunny with a cool breeze. We took the factory tour and sampled the different Tabasco flavors. They have several new flavors that I had never heard of.

We stopped at one of the drive through daiquiri places to get a margurita and a hurricane. Even though we have laws against drinking and driving and open container laws if you don't put your straw in the drink it's not considered open. lol I told Carol I wanted her to have to total Louisiana experience.

We made the Beignets this morning and I don't think Cafe Du Monde has to worry about us. I can't get them to puff up like they should.

I have driven from Grand Junction through Montrose and Silverton to Durango. That was some white knuckle driving for sure. I might would try it again now that I have more experience with mountain driving.

Well, it is Tuesday night but better late than never, right?

Slept in this morning and didn't seem to have any vertigo when I got up so thought I was out of the woods. Til I got to work, then everything started going topsy turvy and getting sick to my stomach feeling. So I left and drove to urgent care to get it checked out.

Turns out I still have a sinus infection and an inner ear infection, so doc put me on an antibiotic (finally!) and prednisone for inflamation, and Dramanine for the dizziness and nausea. Felt a little better by the time I got back to work but still felt "tipsy" all day and even now. Hopefully that will finally go away soon.
He asked my why I didn't get an antibiotic when I had the sinus infections a few weeks ago. I told him no one would give me one because it is a "virus". As far as I am concerned, an infection is an infection and needs an antibiotic. I usually don't like to take those for just anything, but it is the only thing that really clears up SI's for me. Will insist on it next time. Don't want to go thru this again!

Was a gorgeous day today! Sunny and 60's! Mid 70's tomorrow with thunderstorms. Then colder again. :(

Oh, and found out my car has been overheating and dying because the fan wasn't working on the engine. I never saw any steam and no guages indicated that. Hope it won't cost a fortune to fix it tho.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
