Monday at Martha's

Gmorning all:)

Pulled into Martha's bayou farm last evening:) So beautiful in southern LA! I was pooped, so we had a short visit, will start fresh this a.m. Hope to get a tour of farm and surrounding area;)

Kathy, so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom:( Miss seeing you here amd hope your computer issus get resolved soon. Sarah, I haven't checked Pets yet, but I'm glad you got Nikky home to your own vet. Beth, kudos on your successful camphosting--would have expected nothing less than all the appreciation for you:)

Catherine!!??? You're getting rid of those boxes! Y'all must know I threatened twice daily to dispose of them when I was there, so this is big news for me ;)

Ok, y'all have a great day, be safe always! And I'm looking forward to meeting Martha's "infamous" Harold today ;)

Morning Carolb and all,

Carol, thanks for starting coffee this morning. Nice to have somebody to follow for a change :) Glad you made it to Martha's safely. Pat, sounds like you are in for a busy summer. Catherine busy cleaning out stuff, Kathleen sorry you are under the weather. Barb, if that Jeep was new, you could invoke the lemon law. Don't rush to get you kayak in the lake, that water will be very cold after ice out. Looks like everybody else busy with routine stuff before nice warm weather sets in. Liz on the road again today, safe travels. Sarah hopefully to find out more about Nicky this week, Cheryl has first "Maiden voyage" scheduled. Busy people. :)

Guess I wil finish spring cleaning today. Just want to wash walls in laundry room, won't take long. Have some touch ups to do with paint in a couple of other rooms too. Week looking pretty nice after tomorrow. Had snow yesterday, maybe inch at most. Will be gone by day's end. Ordered me an iBall hitch camera yesterday, so another thing down for the trip. Now of to a surge protector.

Time to quit jabbering. Have a nice day all ;)

Good Morning all,
Sunny here today and forecast looks good. I have declared winter officially over. Good to see Carolb check in and that she has arrived safe at Marthas. I hope the weather is perfect for fun and adventures. I wish I were there to tag along.
I had an interesting experience with an order I placed online for makeup. When I received it I thought at first I had received all samples of products and they were pretty dried up. I called and they said their refunds were issued as a credit not a refund of your money. I told them I was so disappointed in the products I didn't want a credit. When they kept saying it was their policy I just said I wasn't happy with that and ended the call. I had paid using my Pay pal account and so I just filed a dispute. Wow did I get fast results, within minutes I had a note from the company apologizing and saying even though it was against policy they would make an exception and give me a full refund if I would send everything back. I now have a credit for the full amount, even shipping and another nice note from the company. :) :) I never got mad and was very polite to everyone I spoke with but I knew I wasn't going to settle for their version of money back!
Yoga class today, I'm going to sit in the back so I can slack off if the instructor gets overly wound up!

Good Morning Everyone !!! Getting down to my last days here in Fl, so many days thinking they would never get here  Today I'm cooking, :D making up dishes to freeze and then micro for traveling days. Not hurrying to NC, plan to enjoy myself on the way. Have this feeling I've been let out of prison   I'd be gone but new Dr wanted to see me one more time and then she will give me presc. for rest of year, then im gone. I'm down here every year so will keep her as DR as I like her and she approves of my lifestyle :) Do wish at times my dr in NC had not closed his office though.

Except for cooking and READING again not much news from here, getting VERY excited to hit the road :) I capitalized reading, because it's always been one of my fav pastimes and I have not been able to enjoy it for some time, it's great to be me again. Now, if I could get my back to behave and let me enjoy my walks again, loosing some of last years weight gain will help loads I think, hoping so.

For those who are dealing with difficulties now, I hope they're solved soon. Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom, and the brother needs more then a kick. I think several of us here would love to line up and have our chance at him, for you. Hope the computer problem is solved soon, you're missed here. So many looking forward to spring , what a winter, time to be gone. I hear a lot of seconds on that, right ???

Wherever and whatever you're planning or hoping for, wishing you all the very best. Stay Safe !!!

CArol :)

I almost left coffee for you guys when I went to bed at 2:30 a.m., since it was formally Monday, but I was so tired that I couldn't remember where I put the virtual coffeepot. Sorry!

Yesterday I slew dragons! My sons used to call Microsoft the 'Evil Empire,' and yesterday reminded me just how right they were. It should be a simple matter to download previously-purchased software and install it on the new(ish) computer, right? Of course, that's when you're dealing with competent companies instead of Microsoft. It's a very long story about a very long day, and probably funny only to computer geeks, so I won't repeat it all now. It was an epic battle! I won! Then the Dragonslayer toddled off to bed, clutching her virtual teddy bear.

Maybe I'll buy a washing machine today. That has to be easier, doesn't it?

Louise, all you have to do is put dirty clothes into it! Much easier! Lyn

Good evening ladies!

Had a strong episode of vertigo just after getting into bed last night. Then again this morning. Did some of the exercises for it which helped but felt dizzy and off-kilter all day. Will do more exercises tonight again. I may need to see a doctor about it since my hearing isn't very good lately either so maybe I have excessive wax in there or something.

Spent most of the afternoon with my old friend who I used to work with many years ago. I gave her and her husband haircuts and she bought me lunch. We all had a great time talking and getting caught up. They spent the last year on the road in their 5th wheel traveling all over the western states. Was fun to hear about that and talk "RVing".

Sue, my car is 12 years old, so can't use the lemon law for it anymore. No word yet on what is wrong with it.
And as far as using my kayak right away in the cold water, I don't plan to go swimming. Kayak should be stable enough to not tip over and fall in! :o

Hope you all had a good day so far! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Carolb and I have been running the roads today. She wanted to see Abbeville and of course we had to go to Walmart. Tonight we met Carolyn Patin at Crawfish Town for Dinner. Carol had to try the boudin balls and jambalaya. She didn't want any crawfish that might have eyes looking at her. lol Good thing they didn't seat us near a table of crawfish eaters.

We got a box of beignet mix made by the Cafe Du Monde people in New Orleans. Tomorrow we are going to try our hand at making beignets. I hope they turn out better than the last time I tried making them from a recipe on the internet.
