Moving on in Louisiana

Postby asirimarco » Sat Mar 21, 2009 6:06 pm

Guess you've seen the pictures of our mini get together in Rockport. Had a ball meeting Karen, Carol, Jean and Beth.
We left Rockport this a.m. and have made it just inside the state line in Louisiana at Vinton. Get to put a new state on our map. Made it here just in time to see the last 7 laps of the Nationwide race.
Here are some final pictures of Mexico- last of the roadside burro carts

That is strings of garlic for sale near Monterrey

Some of the mountains we got to go around thank goodness
Image
Crossing the border at Pharr International Bridge, just south of McAllen, TX
Image
Back in the USA - some of the twisted and bent old oaks in Rockport
Image
Drove to Corpus Christi and visited the USS Lexington - and my camera battery died half way through the tour

Leaving Rockport this a.m. Just a little foggy

Here is the laptop map (Streets and Trips) of our journey in Mexico

Enjoyed all of it and loved being able to share it with everyone. I'm still working on my pictures all trizillion of them. Still need to finish my web page about the trip.
Now we are headed home. Will continue on in LA tomorrow and stop ??????

I also regret that your trip is nearing an end as I so enjoyed learning about each new adventure every day. You spoiled us and set a high standard for others to follow in sharing their travels. Please keep posting all the way back to your stick house door step!
