Palm Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Palm Sunday

Postby Colliemom » Sun Mar 29, 2015 6:04 am

Good morning all,

Nice to see so many posts yesterday even if it was just to say hi. This is the time of year when I think all of us are in the same ol, same ol rut. Dealing with every day life issues, health issues and in Kathy's case, Loss of her mother. :(

Today is Palm Sunday, perhaps another name in other denominations. The start of a busy week leading up to Easter for some us. And Mother Nature has decided to throw a tantrum again. Winter Weather Advisory in effect here for this afternoon into tomorrow morning. Winds, snow and all that good stuff. So, O'Sharon, will probably be heading your way. Sorry :(

Went to the small RV show yesterday. Not a lot of rigs, a lot of really big 5ers and a few small TT's. Liked one of those A frame trailers. Simplemv . But not looking to buy anyway. Got talking with a really nice lady looking at it and she camps in her Van. Told her about the forum and a number of other things. We even exchanged email addresses, so she is going to take a look at the forum here.

So other than mas this morning and a trip to store for a few things, nothing much doing today. Hope you all have a nice day today :)

Good morning
On my Facebook wall I post puns most days as my status update. I posted this one yesterday I thought you ladies here might enjoy it too.
I tired to pull out of the rv parking space and had difficulty so I used my back up plan.
Don't worry if plan A fails there are 25 more letters in the alphabet.

Mornin' Sue & Jane and all that follow...

Still a bit of nip in the air, but temps slowly getting better. Next week the forecast is starting to get to the 60's with rain. Well, it is spring ya know.

Think I mentioned that I booked my first campsite for 5/1 & 5/2. Started moving some things into Colt yesterday (dishes, glasses, silverware & utensils) a hope to do some more today, but supposed to rain, so we'll see.

I did figure out the tongue lock all by myself :D and used the IBall camera for the first time. Results in Gadget & Gizmos http://www.womenrv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=13965

Next up - actual hitching (want BIL or friends husband with me as a 'just-in-case'). So far no major stupid things, but wait. They're coming I'm sure of it

Good morning! Sue, thanks for the heads up! I've been watching the weather this morning and it looks like tonight into tomorrow isn't going to be good. More wet snow and cold. It was 15 when I got up this morning! So looks like more days inside, I want to get outside to start working in the yard but it's just been way to cold to do much. So over this! Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening cleaning off my desk! Of course that led to some drawers...all because I was looking for a notebook with some info on back pain! I filled a bag for throw away and one for shreddding! I talked to my sister last night and we discussed which of our mom's papers I can finally get rid of. That will clear out a good part of a file drawer! So back at it today! Won't get to see the kids this week end, they're on the run with their dad! Well, not much different here so I'll quit rambling and just wish everyone a safe day and hope it's warm where ever you are!

Good morning everyone.

Woohoo on that hitch camera, Cheryl! Looks like you're ready to roll! Can't wait to see your adventures.
Kathy, so sorry about your mom - hope things smooth out for you soon.

Grey cool morning here - in the 40s though so I'll take it.

Got nearly everything pulled out of my son's closet (my decluttering progresses) then got a call from other son to go watch my granddaughter's gymnastic meet. Appreciated the break, but didn't get back to sorting through stuff yet. Carolb would be so proud of me - I'm actually putting a number of boxes into recycling. (I tend to hold onto original boxes that things came in - had one in there from a laptop that was tossed years ago  ) Hope to put most of son's 'stuff' into one storage container for him to have if he wants it - everything else goes to goodwill or trash. :D

Working my way "up" to the basement - will probably have to dedicate a couple of months to that endeavor though. Oh & then there's the garage :( - should probably tackle that one before it gets hot outside.

Hope you all have fun things planned for today.

Cool Palm Sunday here... not feeling well so will miss church today...
Jane all I can say is 'groan' lol...
I have been having such a hard time with the Yosemite on my iMac... so I just tried to recreate my bills... hope I have put them all back... after Apple worked with me the bill file dropped into oblivion again I managed on my own to get it back or rather with searching the net for instructions... and it is gone again...
Hope everyone has a great day... this week here in Normal it will be in the 60s...

Good morning
Lots of sunshine today but it is still much too cold for this time of year. Last night should be our last freeze as temps will be warming all week but more rain coming in - April showers to bring May flowers maybe.
Nicky has been mostly resting but seems to be moving better when he does get up. I'm not moving much however, think I hurt my back trying to pick him up so much. Had to get my cane back out last night for the first time in a couple of years.
Did not finish going thru mail yesterday so that task is still lingering. Think I'll take a lesson from Catherine and put some boxes out for recycle as I tend to hoard those too. Maybe my goal for the day should be to fill the recycle bin as Monday is pick up day.
Have a great day.

Good Morning! Windy windy today up to 50 mph gusts.…temps are going to be in the mid 60’s and up into the mid 70’s tomorrow. Still no sign of rain in site. I’d even take a good spring blizzard to get some moisture. Sorry Beth..but we need it.

Not much happening around here. Been a quiet week. Spent yesterday starting to get ready for Easter thinking that it would be at my house but my sister called this morning and told me that she didn’t think that she’d be able to talk mom into coming. I suppose if I make it to 95 I won’t probably want to leave my own bed to go somewhere for the weekend either. However, my dining room table is cleaned off and that’s a major feat within itself, there are clean sheets on the beds in the spare bedrooms and the extra bathroom is cleaned, buns are made and in the freezer and groceries are bought and put away. Delivered a baby gift that was on the dining room table. So today I think I might just be a bum…going to wash some sweaters and start putting away some of the winter clothes that I know that I won’t be using and plan to cuddle with Radar and take nap!

My friend Faye called excited Friday night and her daughter is engaged and the wedding is going to be in October. Missy’s daughter is getting married in August. So it looks like it will be a busy summer helping them with wedding stuff. We have always helped each other with graduations and weddings for each other’s families. So it will be a summer of making mints and decorations for weddings. Missy’s daughter already has her bridesmaid dresses picked out so I dodged the bullet on making those….hope Tera does the same!

Love reading all the posts during the week. By the time it comes to my weekly post I’ve forgotten who has been ill…who is on the road etc without going back and reading everything. So I hope just wishing the best to everyone will suffice! Have a good week.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Afternoon All, Yes, morning is long gone. Casey and I have had two nice walks out in the sunshine down to the ball park. The other day we went to the dog park. Its small, but not heavily used. Casey doesn't get up and run with the other dogs, as her hips are too sore. She and I sit and laugh at the other dogs as they are so fun to watch.

Hey Sue, I watched Michigan play softball today, and it was snowing at the ball park!!!

I'm going out to dinner tonight with one of the grands and his family.

Nothing much else new with me. lyn

Pat, do not be sorry to me - I wish you would get lots of rain (even snow if necessary) before I get there :) I'm expecting there will be a good amount of it after, but will be happy to have the winds and rain lessen in a couple weeks :)

Even though I'm working the next two days, they had my "farewell" today and it was nice. They gave me some nice swag - a mini maglite and a small pair of binoculars for two - both of which will get a lot of use from me. I've been invited back - just have to tell them when I want to come. And the volunteer coordinator knows I have to work more often for money and they would have a guide position that he could get me in this fall at Gila Cliffs if I'm interested. It's still a volunteer position, but with a small daily stipend. I'd love to do it, just not sure I want to deal with the cold. Days would be okay, but most nights in that period will fall into 30's during Nov, 20's during Dec. Have to think about it. I received the acceptance letter to work at Amazon in TX in the fall - would be cold there (near Dallas) also, and they still don't have cg's lined up - I don't want to be traveling long distance to put in their hours. Yep, I'm a picky worker haha. So, will think on this the next couple weeks. Gila Cliffs are such an awesome place - it will probably win out over the money and the weather. Probably.

Woke up to rain this morning but not very much. Not enough anyways. Then it got really, really windy! Some of the ice on the smaller bays blew out. The bigger bays still have ice tho. Probably another week or so before official ice-out. Supposed to get to 70 on Wednesday with thunderstorms and then cool off again. I am so anxious to get the kayak out on the water!

My car is acting up again, dying whenever I let off on the gas. I have to keep one foot on the brake pedal and one on the gas to drive it. Had to run some errands after work and then stop at my dad's, who then wanted to go to the store. Drove to my friend Steve's house to see what he could do with the car. He fixed a few loose hoses but that didn't solve the problem, so my car is in the shop now (again! ). I have Steve's spare car to use for now.

Tomorrow I am meeting up with an old friend of mine for lunch (was postponed from last Monday). Hopefully, after that I can get some stuff done around here. I have been so busy, between work, and my dad, and car issues, being sick, etc, I just haven't had time to do anything around here for awhile. Really need to get caught up.

Hope you all had a good day and have a nice night! :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
